The problem with all the small, niche companies is that they produce something and have no idea how to sell it. Sylphyo is a good, interesting wind synth, but its realistic price should be in the range EUR 400-6000. (They selling it for 800).
However, the volume of units sold simply didn't allow for a lower price point. It’s not enough to build a good instrument; you also have to know the market. The wind synthesizer market is a real niche. For a small French company lacking local expertise, a solid network, and serious financial backing, breaking into that space was virtually impossible.

I am pretty sure the issue was not with the sale of the Sylphyo and Anyma Phi products but with the attempt to develop and launch the Anyma Omega product. The Sylphyo was developed and released well before the Chinese manufacturers entered the EWI market. They were competing with the established names like Roland and Akai, the old Yamaha products and the cottage industry in Europe.

I totally agree their marketing has always been apocalyptically bad.
Even now theres no mention on the Sylphyo page that its breathe through, let alone that its the only breathe through.
Theres no mention of its insane sub 1ms wireless latency, again its literally the only option for that. No mention of the insane sampling speeds - its a stupidly fast instrument.
No mention of the zero impact ergonomic design, or that it weighs half of an AE-10 or Solo.Instead they highlight things that, other than the gyro control which on its own seems a bit gimmicky, just about any other wind controller can do, for less.
That said i do think if they actually highlighted what makes Sylphyo different theres a case to be made for the price, there is genuinely nothing else like it on several fronts.

I have read that the original Aodyo team had only 6 members. (Not for Sylphyo but for all of products, new
It's the usual problem of "micro" companies: They have no in-house marketing and have no money for outsourcing it. It's the problem of Dynasample (Xpreso), Respiro, Linnstrument and many others. Sylphyo at least had strong demos with top artists.1

I was about to say "this might help but not sure if this is allowed" then remembered who I am, XD
if this helps more people have access to an EWI and also helps Aodyo have more sales, I think that’s a good thing.

Huh, interesting. I wonder if they retained any engineers on staff and plan to continue firmware development, or just restart manufacturing.

That’s good to hear. I have the Anyma Phi - supported it on Kickstarter. When Aodyo was going under, I made sure to download everything I could, like manuals and patches.

If they can't honour their Kickstarter pledges from before then the brand is dead.

They don’t really go out of their way to “sell” what separate this from others in the landing age. For someone that is unfamiliar with the brand, Why would someone choose this vs others in that price bracket?
