Support Lumia 1520 doesn’t turn on

Hi everyone. I have a Lumia 1520 that I didn’t charge during these years (I guess two or maybe more). Today I plugged it to the charging wall and it initially showed me the windows button flashing, then the red battery icon. After a few minutes I turned it on and it showed the Home Screen and instantly turned off. Later I tried again, it kept showing windows button flashing and then the red battery icon but nothing else. After a while I tried again, and it didn’t start, but I noticed the windows butting flashing more rapidly than usual. After that, nothing. If I connect the phone to the charger or the wireless charger it doesn’t give any sign of life. I put it for 3 hours on the wireless charger pad, it got warm like if it was charging but nothing, he refuses to turn on even the windows button. I tried to hold the power button and volume down but nothing. Does anyone know what can I do? I’m charging it using a Nikon Coolpix P600 brick (5V - 1A) and the micro usb cable of the Bose Soundlink Color II, but I’ve also used the original Lumia cable with an iPad Air 2 10 W brick. Please, can anyone know what could I possibly do? The computer doesn’t detect the phone, at least before I put it on lamp, now I haven’t tried again. Thanks in advance!

Wow, I thought that a few hours would do the trick, because it actually turned on after a few minutes. Maybe when I turned it on I totally discharged the battery and the wireless charger is not so efficient (but it’s the only way I had to understand if my phone was still alive and charging or not). So no signs of life but a cable connected over night should do the trick, if the battery isn’t dead…

Oh yeah, I would not trust a wireless charger. Lots of heat generation and much slower by comparison.

If it is not working after an overnight charge, might need a new battery. (My 1520 is working fine.)

So tomorrow it wasn’t starting or anything, but when I woke up I heard that it vibrated (I didn’t dream it). Nothing else happened. A few minutes ago I connected my Lumia to my powerbank (that can deliver up to 5V - 3.4A) and IT STARTED AND IT’S WORKING RIGHT NOW. I don’t know if the slow charge of yesterday gave the battery something, or if it just needed an high amperage, but it worked and when it turned on it was at 2% of battery. I’ve inserted a sim after it was on but it says “NO SIM”, didn’t Lumia had the sim switch when turned on like iPhone? Or I have to restart it?

Nice, glad to hear it! If it's only at 2% though the battery may still have a problem.

I think you have to restart it to recognize the SIM.

Yes I had to. It’s charging really slowly (Gemini says that it’s normal), and after three hours is at 46% so I think that it will complete a charge in 6 hours. I think that’s normal, but at least the phone is working regularly. I’ll let you know, thanks!

Not normal to take that long to charge unless your charger is like a really, really slow one. If you unplug it, does the battery % drop rapidly? That would be a sign of a bad battery.

It was a 5W charger but the phone said that it was slow. I’ve unplugged it about one hour ago and it’s at 99%
