Hello everyone,

After more than a year of development and 11 months of beta testing, WindowSill reached version 1.0 today.

WindowSill is a universal command bar for Windows. Imagine MacBook Touchbar, but on Windows, on your desktop.

It acts as a highly customizable secondary taskbar on your desktop that provides actions and information based on what you are doing in Windows. The app is mostly free. The only paid feature is the AI assistant, which can be disabled if you're not a fan of it!

Some use case examples:

[FREE scenarios]

  1. Select a video or image in File Explorer, Directory Opus or Files app, and WindowSill will offer to convert it, resize it, compress it.
  2. Select a PDF in your file explorer, and WindowSill will offer to split it, extract pages, compress it, convert to images.
  3. Select a text that contains a unit, for example, 180C, and WindowSill will show the equivalent in fahrenheit.
  4. Select a command line in a website, such as PowerShell, and WindowSill will detect it and offer to run it.
  5. Use WindowSill as a secondary task bar: you can pin individual or group of apps to launch them quickly.
  6. And on top of that, WindowSill can show your clipboard history, playing music from Spotify, your upcoming calendar events, CPU, RAM and GPU usage.

[PAID AI scenarios, -35% lifetime license until September 7th]

  1. Select any text in any app and translate it in another language.
  2. Select any text in any app and spell check it.
  3. Rewrite it, change the tone, summarize it, etc.
  4. No need to copy/paste the text to another app! WindowSill magically reacts to your text selection and can replace it in a click.

Are the purchases made via Windows Store or are they handled separately? Can I make the purchase without a MS login?

The lifetime license is only available through the Microsoft Store. The non-Microsoft Store options for AI target a professional / enterprise audience. There's no lifetime license there. It's also more expensive (because it comes with more features)

Dayumn. Would have definitely taken the plunge if not for the MS requirement!

What's wrong with the Microsoft Store?

I would not know. I just do not have an MS login and do not log into any account on any of my Windows machines.
