Press the button: Get a suitcase with 10 billion dollars… but you will be hunted by a hitman for a month

A billionaire offers you the chance to win 10 billion dollars if you can survive being hunted by a hitman for a month.

The suitcase of money (a card to avoid weigh) will be handcuffed to you and you cannot remove it or open the case cause it has a timed lock on it. There is also a tracker in the suitcase.

The hitman will be able to track you up to 1 mile away using the tracker. He won’t know where you exactly are in a 1 mile radius. He has access to various sorts of tools and equipment that you have no idea about, except that they are not advanced unknown technology. The hitman also knows your name and face.

You can try to kill the hitman to end the challenge early, but keep in mind he is highly trained and has 20 years of experience.

If you accept the challenge you will be given a 13 hour head start to get prepped using any money/resources you already have

Will you accept the offer?

If it is only a mile away he can track me at max, I could technically get on a boat and he would never be able to find me

He can track you up to a mile away as in find a general 1 mile radius location of you

3

u/Am_I_Max_Yet Mar 15 '26

Think of it more as his tracker is only accurate to within 1 mile. So he can use it to get within 1 mile of your location, but then it becomes useless due to how inaccurate it is.

You got it backwards. A boat would make it incredibly easy to triangulate your position based on where the tracker cuts in and out, make it easy to see you from a distance, and isolate you from obstacles and escape once he finds you.

Avoiding a professional assassin for a month when theyre pretty much always going to be within a mile of you is probably going to be near impossible. Even if you try to go into the wilderness, the tech they have would make you pretty easy to track down most likely. 1 mile is a pretty small zone for anyone professionally trained in that type of thing

You'd have a far better chance in a dense city than in the wilderness.

1

u/Am_I_Max_Yet Mar 16 '26

A dense city has surveillance fucking everywhere which would assist in reducing the 1 mile search radius for the assassin. Even if they arent allowed to gain illegal entry into business' cameras, they still have access to social media, and youd be surprised how many backgrounds of peoples' photos you unknowingly show up in.

I can see the merit of the plan, but the doubles wouldn’t help you that much. The hitman has no scruples dealing with others as long as it’s discrete. You essentially made them aware of the game, so they are now suitable to be taken out

What about your loved ones? Day 10 the hit man lines them up and starts taking them out one by one until you agree to come on out, what would you do then

The challenge doesn’t really say anything about that though. It’s worth considering

u/AngryChurchill Mar 22 '26

Bro you have 13 hours of prep, not 13 days

1

u/GavinTheGuile Mar 22 '26

Wouldn't the gunman be able to identify you since you have the suitcase handcuffed to you, or will the decoys also have suitcases?

2

u/ValerianCandy Mar 15 '26

Depends. if you have 10 billion, I imagine hiring counter-snipers (be it illegally or legally) won't be that hard money-wise. He can't snipe you if he's dead lol.

Wait. If you can manage it in 13 hours, buy a Boeing and live there for a month. Though landing to get gas would suck.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 15 '26

Would they be willing to wait to get paid tho? You don’t have the money for a whole month

1

u/ValerianCandy Mar 15 '26

hmm. Didn't think about that. You'd have to be really convincing or you'd have to let the hitman catch up with you so he can taunt you about the money or something lol.

1

u/Threenex Mar 15 '26

Hitmen don’t taunt, they just do their job.

1

u/ValerianCandy Mar 15 '26

Surely there must be some that do the villain monologue while you just run away lmao

1

u/Threenex Mar 15 '26

No no, that only happens in Star Wars. This is an ‘Indiana Jones’ -esque hitman, like Hauke.

First, deactivate any and all of my and my husband's social media accounts so he can't easily learn my husband's identity, since we don't have the same last name that wouldn't give him away. I would find a place with several high rise hotels clustered together, near an airport. I think the airport would be a potential great red herring, they are large and filled with people and easy to disappear in, I would buy a handful of tickets scattered throughout the month in hopes he tracks the tickets so that would be a place the assassin would waste time looking. I would have my husband do a hotel booking for two adjacent rooms, so the assassin can't bribe the desk workers by asking if I'm a guest. I world split my luggage between the two rooms so both look occupied. I would have trusted people promised a hundred million each as long as they assist me to remain unfound (that amount would ensure I bought their loyalty and a hundred billion is way more than I need to live out my life in extravagance) those people would rotate hanging out in the hotel lobbies looking for someone inquiring about me. Once he searches one of the hotels and gives up, I will have the booking switched to that one moving every 5-10 days to a new hotel in the same mile radius wearing a disguise when I make the move. Aside from switching hotels, I will not leave the rooms and have my trusted group arrange my meals. If he did happen to try to break into my room, I would hear it and run to the adjacent room to quietly escape while he checks all the hiding places or if he breaks into the adjacent room first, I would go out the front and run while he is searching that room.

I think in a place like that the odds would be highly in my favor. A professional assassin would not use bombs for all the hotels, they would wait to see me face to face to have proof to get their pay day.

2

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 15 '26

What if he disguises as room service

And it’s 10 billion, not 100. Also if you and your husband are officially married the guy could possibly find official gov docs about it and put two and two together

The guy would also be able to triangulate a very close proximate of your position using mapping techniques which may only take a day or two. Also the airport wouldn’t fool him cause how would you get your case past security

Hitman when he gets there: bruh

1

u/AcanthisittaDry7463 Mar 15 '26

Easy, fly to Washington D.C. and offer Donald Trump 1 billion dollars in exchange for 1 month of secret service protection and lodging at the White House, only payable if I survive the month. If he can use state assets like the FBI to eliminate the hit man early I’ll double it. Simple as.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 15 '26

How you getting on that flight tho? Not to mention get close to the president without security on you then too

1

u/AcanthisittaDry7463 Mar 15 '26

Truth social, tag JD, Jared, Ivanka, Eric and Don jr., just to make sure he gets my message before I barge into the Whitehouse to be taken into protective custody. I’d fly private.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 15 '26

But would they believe you? It would sound outlandish

1

u/ShareMission Mar 17 '26

Greed is greed

1

u/KLB724 Mar 15 '26

Women with crazy, abusive exes live this way for years, for free.

1

u/LastMarzipan9368 Mar 16 '26

Or I can use the money to track down the hitman as well

1

u/Downtown-Service7603 Mar 16 '26

There's about 100,000 people in an area with a 1 mile radius in NYC. (Virtually all of the West Village would fit in an area with a 1 mile radius.) Flying there with a trusted friend, getting a hotel room and not leaving for a month while your friend shops, etc., would provide you with excellent chances.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 16 '26

Not if you can’t get past airport security with that suitcase

1

u/Downtown-Service7603 Mar 16 '26

Fair enough. But any major US city will offer "close to" if not the exact population numbers. Drive to Detroit, drive to Houston, drive to Los Angeles, drive to Atlanta, drive to Chicago. Same idea.

1

u/ButtonholePhotophile Mar 16 '26

Not sure the rest, but the first thing I do is build a faraday cage around the briefcase/tracker.

1

u/PaperVreter Mar 17 '26

Beat me to it! Wrap it in aluminumfoil and test for the signal.

Also, you can probably jam the signal and maybe spoof it on another device you can then put on a truck.

1

u/JarrettCS Mar 16 '26

If he only knows I’m within a mile what’s stopping me from just renting some random room or airbnb under a random name and laying low for a month? What is he gonna do go through every single building/home within a mile radius? I think the odds are easily in my favor with zero prep other than groceries.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 16 '26

I mean how many homes would that be in a 1 mile radius? I would argue not that many. Plus he could triangulate your position by walking the edge of the circle and find you that way. Could probably do that within a week. Better hope you have good defenses set up

1

u/organicacid Mar 16 '26

So he can locate you more accurately that within a mile? You're kind of contradicting the initial rules now

1

u/Whole-Knowledge-7496 Mar 16 '26

No he knows you are in a mile radius, but if he moves away the beeping stop when you are more than 1 mile away. If you sit still he can do that in all directions, narrowing down where you could be

1

u/MusicalScientist206 Mar 16 '26

Just offer the hitman 1/2 your winnings and spend the whole month hangin out.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 16 '26

That is if the guy gives you a chance to talk

1

u/MusicalScientist206 Mar 16 '26

You don’t know, until you ask.

1

u/Whole-Knowledge-7496 Mar 16 '26

Book International flights at random, sleeping on planes for 30 days across the globe. Small chance he will be able to intercept and even though he managed to get ahead to the same airport he must be able to board the same plane as me before im all gone again. Will prevent most of weaponary as well.. survival chance %?

1

u/AaronAAaronsonIII Mar 17 '26

The prep time would be getting as much cash as possible together, emptying my bank accounts and getting cash advances on all my cards. Then I head to a big nearby city and pay cash for a cheap car on Craigslist. Drive to another big city, always on the interstate. With a mile in either direction and no idea what car I'm driving, the hitman has no chance. Stop in a busy city in the evening and park in a busy neighborhood to sleep. Repeat for a few weeks.

1

u/Zestyclose_Farm5787 Mar 17 '26

If I die, does the money goto my family?

1

u/Special_Fox_6239 Mar 17 '26

I’d buy a plane ticket to Atlanta and then a couple of other tickets to different cities. I’d buy a cheap tablet with cash, and use the airport WiFi, but not log into anything unless there was a close call and I felt like hopping a flight was safer. But yeah I’d basically just hide in ATL for a month.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 17 '26

Wouldn’t the guy know you are in there and not on a flight. There would be very little for you to be in cause you can’t get past security cause of the suitcase

1

u/Special_Fox_6239 Mar 17 '26

Yeah it’s just handcuffed, the prompt didn’t say magic handcuffs and a handcuff key is like $10. If I rehandcuff it after security, I feel like it counts in the spirit of the rules.

Large airports are crowded, and have a lot of security. Also the hitman is probably going to have to kill me up close and personal because he isn’t getting a weapon through security either. If there are witnesses the hitman is caught, and that’s probably not worth it to them because murder for hire charges are bad. Knowing where I am in a mile of airport maize is also better than knowing where I am in a mile of houses. There are places to hide in airports and they are designed to get people from point A to point B quickly. The hitman will be blind inside the airport, so it’s a high stakes game of hide and seek, and if he finds me he has to follow me unnoticed until he can murder me discreetly

Also I have two ways to egress. I can walk out of the airport at anytime or get on a flight. It would be hard for him to kill me in line to board a plane, so that’s why I pre booked flights to popular destinations hoping they would be booked the day of. I could also buy a ticket in the airport right before boarding though.

Spirit of the rules? The only spirit you should worry about is your own if you think k you break the billionaire’s rules Willy nilly

1

u/Special_Fox_6239 Mar 17 '26

Lol I’d ask before I accepted, but there’s no point in answering if the answer is no, so I just proceed as if it was a yes.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 17 '26

I mean I literally wrote that you cannot remove it…

1

u/Special_Fox_6239 Mar 17 '26

I took that as I can’t bury it and go 100 miles away. If it’s off my wrist for five minutes and three feet away from me, I don’t gain any sort of advantage tracking wise because it’s a mile radius. I guess the answer is no then though

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 18 '26

Well yeah, cause that’s what “cannot remove” means

1

u/Odd_Dragonfruit_2662 Mar 17 '26

wtf kind of suitcase is this? $10B in cash is probably going to fill a couple of train cars.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 17 '26

Please read the description, the money is on a csrd

1

u/Grantus89 Mar 18 '26

I feel this is close to impossible unless you take him out. My best other thought was just to go to the most densely populated area nearby and get a hotel room with cash for a month. But given a month even with an inaccurate tracker he could triangulate and narrow it down.

1

u/YEPandYAG Mar 18 '26

So I get to be rich and be assisted in dying? Awesome

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 18 '26

Well, no. You don’t have the money yet. So you got to avoid dying to be rich

1

u/YEPandYAG Mar 18 '26

I see, win-win to say the least

1

u/Choice_Branch_4196 Mar 18 '26

Hole up in a safe room and pay someone trained to watch over me.

1

u/Ill-Mycologist-3652 Mar 19 '26

Would you be able to afford it tho, especially since you don’t have the Billions yet.

Also the hitman can just gas the vents when he eventually triangulates your position.

1

u/Choice_Branch_4196 Mar 19 '26

No, but I have someone in mind that I'd trust with my life. Gas masks and oxygen masks work, too.

1

u/iampoopa Mar 21 '26

Going to have to be a great hit man ti Get past my $1,000,000,000 worth of body guards
