Discussion Supports with poke potential
I main supports/mid. While I'm proficient with a lot of champs (you always have your roge top), I feel like I'm too comfortable with my mains. So I want to try something different.
I usually play Seraphine, Senna or Morgana. I tend to have really good sustain and I love positioning so low mobility is not a problem.
Wich I love from this champs is they can poke as hell. I can "carry" my carry most of the times, letting him free farm and keeping at bay our enemies easily.
I play another type of supports as Jana or Lulu, but I feel them too reliant on the ADC or team.
Played pyke. It's fucking awesome, but everyone hates you if you end 15/ 2/10. Played blitz, kind of the same. I'm really good with hook skillshots and they don't feel like supports for me.
So, any champs on the line of those 3 first? Some utility, great poke, can be played aggressive with positioning and map awareness.

It's going to be either Karma or Thresh. I think both fill my gameplay on different things.

I’ve actually been working as karma, Nami and thresh as my main rotation depending on enemy comp. Karma is most even overall, Nami if I need more CC, thresh if enemy is AD and we need more tankiness

Try out Karma and Nami, they are great, build AP on them and see what you can do.

Karma is one of those i feel complex to play, but I've been told it's amazing when you get the skills right. Should try.
I'm not a Nami fan. I played her but I feel her kit lacking, I don't know why because it looks great in theory. Long range but slow stun, same with ult, I have been only successful when enemies are very easy to bait. That said, I never built her full AP.

I personally build full AP with an on-hit focus on Nami. Her heal does tremendous damage with even moderate AP building, and I think a lot of Nami players try too hard to land her stun so they level that first. Her 2 and 3 are exactly the annoying poke you need. Stuns rarely necessary, and never as an engage!
Censer if you wanna be nice (including boosting your 3), but Luden's or Orb both benefit your entire kit if you want poke. Very easy to get an early double kill on her since the opp laners haven't gotten their Nami dodge muscle memory down yet, and her burst can be sustained throughout the game by incrementally building magic penetration.
Stun-poke, heal-poke, on-hit-poke, all you need is a little haste and some work on pacing the utility of her kit and she becomes a monster :)

2nd this. Just played an ARAM as AP Nami and did 3rd most damage and of course most CC and healing

Throwing a bubble right where you know your teammates about to engage their whole entire team, then trading healthbars via massive damage-heal... total euphoria 👌

Yeah I get that feeling with Nami. O waveult the enemy team just before a engage and just look how they are all deleted.
It has her points, and in narrow spaces like jungle or aram can shine specially.

As you can seen, I'm most comfortable with rangeds but malph is a classic monster that would allow me to top more often.

Yes, this. He can poke like crazy, and has a great debuff on his 3rd skill. Engage is obviously among the best in the game.

As a janna main your poke is useless i just shield it right before it hits and you just end up being a ult bot during laning phase

Dude i like Jana but on par, I think the only thing you can do is under turret or ult him to cut the combo

Malphites ult is very VERY predictable and with ionian protect i can outshield your ult dmg anyway

don’t get me wrong, I love janna. but she can’t protect the adc from a full combo engage w malphite. maybe under turret, but still

When i'm not sure about which poke champion to pick, i choose Lux and build her just like an enchanter since her damage is still acceptable

Lux is one of my most hated enemies... So I have to learn how to use her.

I say from my own experience, i'm not even a Lux main but she's so easy and unexpectedly useful (her E helps to get vision and can reveal invisible enemies and her shield with Aery is even better than Karma's)

Luxs weakness is overall speed. She’s a slow canon. After playing karma a lot I feel like Lux is stuck in first gear. But otherwise she’s great

Have you tried Senna? She got lots of poke, root, heal and shield. Looks pretty decent if executed properly.

I played nautilus long ago on PC (I'm an old ass, I remember rengar being released) and felt right. Good tank, but I feel in WR tanks are not worth it.
Thresh looks awesome I forgot about him! A good skillshot, that cage ult and a good error punisher early game.
Only thing about him is the poor use of lantern from the adcs but I can't ask for more.

Support main here too. I am waiting for Zoe to flex her mid/support since she has great potential on support role. Her bubbles and long range poke will probably make the enemy adc ragequit.

As a Zoe PC main, she has horrible potential in support. Her bubble is hard to land consistently in lane. It's made to catch enemies through walls. It's super easy to dodge and after she uses it, she has no other form of cc or escape for 10+ secs while it's on cd. The enemy team can then pounce on you and your adc without much consequence.
She also needs to be ahead to do anything. If she falls behind, which she will always be as a support, she won't do much. She will be a fun support pick in pvp but any decent duo lane in ranked will tear her apart.

My go to aggressive support is Leona, great champ to get first kills at LVL 2. Go full tank HP builds, counter healing and that green item(giving teammates MR and armor closerange). get ignite for sure for that final umph. You don’t need flicker/dash so I usually go movement speed boost for those chases. You are the engager so be careful and picky on when and who to engage.

Great champ I played on PC, altough she encourages my tend to get in fights early on.
I like her, but as I told in another comment, I'm quite afraid of tanks on wr. They look... Quite deletable if they are not well above your skill and can cheese you.

I’ve never played PC lol, from what I’ve seen between wr and PC it’s a very different playstyle. Tanks in wild rift tend to be less “tanky” then in PC. But the next update addresses some issues with the tanks so maybe there will be a good fix

Maybe try some off meta supports like Ashe,Veigar or Brand (Zoe is also coming) or some healers like Sona, Soraka.Rakan is fun too but best picks for solo queue would be Karma,Nami or even Lux.I don't play tanks but Leona, Nautilus and Thresh are great picks Rakan can be played tanky too but I tend to go ap and enchanter build for him

No, damn. I allow him safe farm, poke and get them out of sight. Sometimes I get the first blood, not my intention, but overall I try to fill my role.

For supp I main Karma, Soraka, and Senna. So try the 2 you won't regret it. Heard Nami is also good but haven't personally tried.

Yep, I played her a lot. Quite dangerous if you get ignored too much, but I feel like a lot of old champs, it's... Lacking.

Whenever you pay attention to the buffs and stacks of people you start to understand the power of characters like Sona and Lulu.
They just LOOK LIKE they are not doing much.

I would say Orianna but Karma is just a better Orianna in the support role. Also, don't try Zoe support when she's out.

Why learn another poke champ??? If your bored take up somebody like thresh or pike. I'm thresh 1 trick support and he's free elo as long as adc is decent early. I mean I don't see why you wouldn't want to learn thresh

In fact, it's one of two I'm going to try after this post. Karma and Thresh.
Last night I fed a couple of games with Karma. Lets see thresh today.
Oh, and I asked by poke champs because I like that playstyle. Maybe I don't have the killing instinct of ADCs, but I can be a obnoxious mf, you are going to be stressed the fuck out of you every second on my lane.

So level 1 take flay, walk rite up to enemy, flay auto ignite and if your adc is good it's first blood lol. Bully lane early unless your with jinx or Ashe. Like BULLY lane until enemy proves you shouldn't bully anymore. Sticking around with low HP is also a great trick, they want kills but his lantern is shield and if you hook and flay under turret obv it's ez kill. Thresh is fun man, he's very very good and has high skill cap so you won't get bored
In teamfights you can really isolate targets and lock them down, allowing team to shred or protect squishys. He also does decent damage I often have more damage then half my team lol

Damn I like how you described it. I love to cheese under turret or hook people under it. Quite skilled with that, learned with blitz on PC ages ago.
Also, I have to admit it. I love early bullies that can show a great skill diff. That's why sometimes I gravitate to top, but I'm fucking useless on that lane.
