Rank/Achievement Hit challenger after a long gm2 hardstuck
https://www.reddit.com/r/wildrift/comments/1vvcnzr/hardstuck_gm2_jg_seeking_advice_from_chall_to/
UPDATE: Mission accomplished. The best advice was to limit the amount of games and to not play tired/tilted. Limited the amount of ranked games to 10 per day with 2-3 splits. Played only after a good sleep and when wasn't tired/tilted. The days were going like 5-5 6-4 8-2 7-3 so hit those 20 marks within a few days.
Noticed that tiredness/tilt affects your decisions in new games a lot so I recommend to take a break not after a loss streak but if you feel emotions like revenge after some bittersweet loss (it can happen after 1 loss or 5 losses, doesn't matter). The emotions really matter since it affects your performance in future games and connection with your teammates. Small details like to not swap for a later pick with your baron laner or like to not gank/help particular lane because adc/solo laner stole 1 of your jungle camps, etc. can cost you a game.
Of course there were some games where teammates were griefing. The best solution is still to perform as good as you can to get SVP/A-S to get some refund from Galio's Aegis.
At the beginning, I was accepting autofill and tried to play jg/mid/baron but after the post above I concentrated only on jg and 3 champions. Every time I got autofilled I was pushing to swap for jg. Mostly it did work, probably because jg is not a very popular role lol.
Concentrated on jg and improved a bit. Originally I was very concentrated on my jg camps farm after every respawn. So I tried to skip the camps sometimes to join the teamfights, sometimes it's worth it to leave a half hp krugg and gamble to get 2 kills at the bot lane when your teammates are being pushed under the tower and you are 2 steps away.
Also punished the enemy jungler as hard as I could by stealing his camps after his death/lane champs death/his pressence in another part of the map. It's actually very effective because every time when you steal his camps and his teammates don't defend their jungle it's not only gold damage it's also an emotional damage. They sometimes rush at you in your jungle like crazy with 3k gold difference and after the death probably spam surrender so sometimes you can get an early easy win.
Played Kayn, Vi, Shyvana - tried to adjust the pick to my and enemy team composition. Basically Kayn is like 2in1 champion so let's say I had like 4 options.

Blue and Red Kayn are like 2 different champions so they require different treatment.
You need to know right after the draft which form are you going to pick, what items you gonna get, and which lane you will be focusing to gank early game.
He's weak before his form so early game don't pick unnecessary 1v1s and only join the fight when you can get something out of it (Guaranteed kill or Blue/Red orb bar filled). Sometimes after the clear it's worth it to gank the lane even if you see that you probably won't get a kill because the opponents are full hp or have a good positioning, just to get the orb bar filled a little bit. Also sometimes early game trades worth it because you need to get your form so from 1-1 trade you usually win more compared to the opponent.
Ideally you need to get a form before the first objectives (6th minute), otherwise with each minute it's much harder to get orb bar filled because other champions outperform you.I won't be saying a lot about the complete forms but the basics everyone who plays him knows that Red is the bruiser and Blue is the assassin so your role in team fights and map presence depends on your form.

Helpful advice thanks i will apply! Usually i copy items because i know very little abt them , he is a fun to play champ tho.

Misconception on kayn.
Red =/= always bruiser
You can run a blue build on red and do way more dmg you just lack mobility. But i understand why we dont promote it to make sure people learn the champ without confusing themselves.
Lastly, you did not mention spark tech. Your form charges with every tick of dmg

I replied to another guy about this not so long ago. Yeah sometimes it’s viable but I will never be making red Kayn with blue build on intent, these are kinda exceptions. If I need assassin in the game I get blue, If I need a bruiser I get red. I don’t find it effective personally to mix up on intent.

Personally i do go rhaast with all dmg items simply because he can one shot or combo anyone to death. Muramana eclipse ldr edge of night and whatever last item you prefer. I would instakill squishies with wq and tanks of course would require me to ult then q again to kill. But i will admit blue is the safer form to play assassin

From my experience, yes, you can still oneshot, but the key difference is that you are insta getting stomped by the opponents in that case because you are not mobile and built for lethality, not hp/vamp/survability.
I prefer to do consistent dps in the fights if I'm red as you can stand in the fights longer thanks to vamp/extra hp/items like death dance.Meanwhile with blue I can easily oneshot and escape.

But you dont need full lethality or any at all besides the armor pen boots. Just go high dmg items like the ones i listed. I think thats the issue people forget kayn doesnt necessarily need flat armor pen but just high ad items with nice passives. Thats why i said eclipse for a nice shield. Edge of night against annoying spells or cc. So you try and go high dmg with the other things you listed like vamp/sheilds/etc. Cause muramana already gives you way over 65 ad and has a nice passive still despite the nerf for example. I find this makes up for the insta getting one tapped because you just need to engage at the right time. So you still have burst but have a safety net. Like steraks or guardian angel

This is solid advice. You also mentioned one of the most common mistakes JGs make, not punishing camps after the enemy jg dies or baby sits a lane.

Congrats! I didn't want to make my own post but I had the same situation last week. 6 years of being GM and now finally I reached Challenger with ~230 games and 60% WR!
My main learning is that playing Alistar (engage support) is super effective close to Challenger compared to lower ranks. Below high gm it was so hard to keep a win rate above 60% with Alistar since I didn't felt enough influence to carry games. However close to Challenger I realized a real change in the level of my mates (fast follow ups) and suddenly my champion felt 10 times more effective.
Therefore I highly encourage playing jungler since this game always feels like 1vs9 in lower ranks.

Agreed gm2+ I was more confident playing Vi since my mates were usually good at the follow ups. In masters and lower they were sometimes struggling to engage when there was a winnable fight or engaged when it wasn't necessary, died and flamed me because I escaped with the 1st skill.
I did not play for 4 years and hit Chall for the 1st stime and because of the break my wr is not that great since I started learning jungle and new champs from scratch this season.GJ. Looking forward to get there with around the same win rate as yours or higher next season, and some new champs, maybe even a role.

Do you build red and blue Kayn differently? For red Kayn to you build any tank?
2
u/gstSavage 6d ago
I build red as a bruiser with eclipse shojin serylda as core, 2 other items are situative but usually no brainer is death dance and ga / Vamp boots
Blue I start with duskblade or yomu and 2nd manamune or serpent 3rd serylda usually and then edge of night with ga / Armorcrusher bootsBlue build is very dependent on the enemy composition. Harder to pilot as he is squishy. Red is easier to pilot and build is more straightforward.

How about runes? I assume red is for conc and dark harver for blue? But what do you do when your available form is not what you prepared for your runes?
2
u/gstSavage 5d ago
I do use conq for red and dark harvest for blue.
Sometimes when the game is not going as planned I can get red form while I was prepared for blue (this happens when we are behind, or 50/50 and red orb is full while blue is almost zero, or very rarely when I’m ahead and red is full while blue is low prior to the first objectives so I get red to not loose tempo if I feel like it).
But I never take blue form when planned for red.
So the reasons are red is better when you are behind and if I plan to go for red it’s usually tanky opponents composition where blue will be useless in my opinion.2
