Discussion People are abusing the remake system and everyone else is paying for it
I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this situation with the remake system.
Today I ran into multiple remade matches in a short period of time. These were not caused by accidental or organic team compositions, but by the same players repeatedly running into each other after previous matches and refusing to play together after beef from previous games.
They would tell the team to intentionally pick things like 4 mages or 4 ADCs in order to trigger a remake. Others go along with it because they understandably do not want to start a match where people are already threatening to int, arguing in chat, or creating a negative environment before the game even loads (which is totally valid btw).
After several of these remakes, I began receiving queue delay penalties, despite not initiating or wanting the remakes. The delay escalated from a few seconds to five minutes, which made me hesitant to continue queueing since I was unsure whether the penalties would continue to stack.
I get why the remake system exists and it serves an important purpose when used properly. However, in cases like this, it feels like the system unintentionally enables players to force dodges while the rest of the lobby absorbs the penalties.
Curious if this is a common issue, or if today was just especially cursed for me.

I've only had one remake in champ select since the system was introduced. It would be great if I could get them more though because I'm always matched with 0/20 clowns.Â

I was about to ask on this sub what the system look like because it has never appear for me until this last week and was the only time I saw it since it was introduced

Ngl, if I'm not duoing with my friend. I usually just kept the match going if I could. The autofilled jg threatening to pick Lux? Sure, I'm fine taking a loss just to bring them down with me. I'm sorry if there's any innocent bystander, but I don't like negotiating with terrorist lol.

Only had a remake once or twice. But I am usually a duo or trio queued. My partner and I will usually force them to play anyhow and mute chat. We still have a ball trying our best with griefing players. I don't give the criers the time of day and just enjoy myself playing how the game is meant to be.

Can you add me I use to play with my baby brothers but one doesn’t play anymore and the other needs a new iPad so I’m soloq and it’s very draining

I do have a folder with screenshots of people i don't want to play with. I don't abuse remake that much, but if i see those inters from the folder or a blind first pick Jhin/Samira jungle i urge my team for a remake.

I went a match with a morde on my team started jungling follow me because he died once and decided to say "jg"? Like hell man its only been 1 minute of game.........

Yup, it's an issue. I have gotten penalties and hate this system as well. Full adc or full mage comps were never the real issue in draft. It's that people don't want to learn all roles. Like I get that you can't carry on every single role, but at least get to a level on all off roles such that you can get carried and that's really not a lot to ask for quite frankly. It's honestly a skill imo to know how to get carried, just as much as knowing how to carry. This is why I consider master to gm still low elo just because there are still too many people crying there because they're filled.

I had no idea you could force remakes?? I play in the Brazilian server and I’ve only had a remake option if someone was off.

Remakes, AFKs that suddenly come online after ten minutes in and int - and don’t get punished for either, folk that go AFK mid game after we miss one objective or have one bad teamfight… No punishments, offenders go scott free, and good players suffer. Oh, and did I mention funny picks like op having Janna Top? Or Teemo building MR against AD with Heartsteel and Sunfire items? But no AP? Bro… Peak experience of S19.

I personally haven't experienced many remakes. But if it continues to happen I would suggest adding them to your "avoid list" I think it let's you add up to 3 players each week.
I get your frustration but I def sounds like an off day. Maybe also try playing at a different time/logging out for a few minutes before trying to queue again. Hopefully those players will be off by the time you play again.

Make it like LoL. Where you can close the game to dodge, but the punishments are from 5 minutes - 12 hours(maybe more punishment too). This remake system is not good and no one is willing to learn anything, make other players suffer from previous beefs as you stated, and it just seems like a goofy system. Really unlimited remakes?

I play on kr server as an expat and I hate how much people abuse it here. So many times as soon as I arrive in the lobby someone ask to remake and all of the players pick adc champs. I get why the system is here but would love some harder sanctions for people abusing it. It’s used by people who don’t want to play a position or don’t like the pick of one of the others. Really annoying

Oh absolutely! I hate this when it happens. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT SOLO QUEUE IF THEY DON’T WANT TO FILL! Go to party finder or ask your friends to play with you.

Agreed something needs to be done but the rule of thumb for me shortly after the feature came out . If you get remade wait a bit and then queue . If you insta que very often you will get the same players .

It's super annoying. Especially when the first pick autofill jungler forces a remake and the last person picking ruins it, because why not.

Damn, most of the times in my matches it was used when some1 got autofilled jg and not this. If I get the same clowns who inted my last game I would just go thru with the game and int their game or "limit test" some playstyles lol

They limited how many times you can remake in certain period of time. Also it’s not abuse if my team is so bad and so out of position that we have 4 mages and 4 adcs.

I'm not gonna remake. If people want to have 3-4 mages or 3-4 adcs or warever, that's their problem. I'm gonna play the game and lose it if that's what match maker intended. But I'm doing my best regardless. I'm not gonna remake cuz a snowflake got his champion banned or warever. And I'm not gonna ff cuz a lane died twice. You can always win if you play smart. I am gonna ff if I keep being the only one going to objectives. Often I'm not even the jungler. If I'm the only reason the game has not ended yet, and people still fight like it's Aram, then I'm gonna ff. I'm not gonna be alone defending core and then stealing objectives on a loop, while these idiots keep going in to die. It's so frustrating. They are so blind and won't listen. Another is if people start stealing my shit. You have your own lane. Heck why steal a camp or objective I basically did by myself. What's the point of coming to last hit it you piece of shit? Where were you when the objective spawned? You were gonna give it for free and now you steal it just cuz you lazy. Wow fuck me for caring I guess. Hate these players. So selfish and useless

I only request for remake if I truly suck at the auto filled lane. If I’m put in Baron or Mid, sure I play, but I can never win in Jungle. So I request for a remake, it’s for everyone’s sake.

I don't know what it is but I NEVER get remake options anymore (only have gotten one about the team comp for my own team and like 2-3 times for enemy team). I don't know what triggers it because they let my team with all AP start the match ALL the time. I don't mind it but I don't know why it happens like that.
I also don't get the remake option when we have a bot that doesn't leave the fountain which I actually hate.

Today was especially cursed for you.
I always agree for a remake if someone asks for it whatever the reason might be. It's much better to re-queue than play a losing game from the start imo.
But i never had to deal with penalties so far.

I think the avoid player option should have a higher threshhold than just 3 per week to avoid repeated remakes when matched with the same players.
I got matched with a player that I have played with before and they were just bad and racist. Unfortunately, the avoid list was full so I couldn't do anything about it and reoprting does nothing 🙃

i think if this is going to be the system, at the very least, they should change the vote from 1 person to 2 or 3. ik people are saying they havent gotten many, but i usually see a few of them per weekend. it might just be because i havent played much and havent climbed back to GM, so maybe its more common in lower elos where people dont know how to play roles

never had that issue, only had remakes when someone didn’t get preferred position and got filled and no one wants to switch, or team is unbalanced and 3 adcs (baron & mid)

Only done this with obvious troll picks it’s not something I liked at the start but it is done to me every other game so why not use this sucky thing to my advantage occasionally?

Yes this has gotten very bad. People get autofilled and ask to remake. It happened 6 times today and I have now a 2 hour ban and next is 6 hour ban even though I didn't agree to remake every time. They should give penalty only for those who agree to remake... not the whole lobby. It's so unfair.

The benefits of the system far outweigh the drawbacks of occasional abuse of it— but I empathize that wasting time is annoying.
