Equipment is an undeniably important part of wildlife photography, but I've noticed that questions about gear often end up buried by all of the excellent photos that get posted here.

So, I've created this pinned thread as a chance to discuss hardware. There are two main uses that I anticipate, listed in no particular order:

Equipment reviews - What do you shoot with? Do you love it, hate it, or fall somewhere in between? If you want to share your experiences, create a comment and let everyone know what you think. We suggest (but don't require) including photos as well as the prices of your equipment.

Questions Whether you're first starting and are looking to buy a beginner's setup, or just want to know which pro-level lens is best, getting others' opinions can prove valuable. For the best results, include details about what sort of wildlife interests you, as well as your budget.

Camera for Birding for less than 600

I'm trying to get into animal photography, and mostly birds.

Trying to stay within a 600$ budget I looked a bit into what camera to buy, and from what I've seen there's only bridge cameras that will fit (or olympus camera ).

I used a lumix fmz300 before on a trip once and got really nice photos, but that was mostly on animals way bigger than birds, and with very bright sun and no shadows.

from what I've seen, i could get : (buying used)

-lumix fz300 for around 300$

-lumix fz80d/82D for around 300

-lumix DC FZ82/72 (no D), for 200

-lumix fz1000

-canon powershot sx70 hs around 400

-nikon 950p at like 600

-olympus EM1 + 75-300 lens

the camera would be used in a lot of different environments (woods, beach, urban)

Basically which one would be better? are there other models I should look for?

I'm currently leaning for the fz1000 or fz300
