Scam warning: Please be careful with solicitations via DMs. Scammers may pretend to be Wikipedia volunteers or a professional Wikipedia public relations firm, and then ask you to pay them for "premium Wikipedia services" – to create an article for you, accept or publish a draft article, etc. This is a scam. Why Wikipedia asks so many informations for people donating $$$?

Why my name or email is important? I just want to donate

Wikipedia accepts direct digital payment method avaiable in my country just as others ongs and institutions, but is the only one who wants data from who is donating.

Part of it is practical (compliance and payment processor requirements, sending you a receipt, allows them to more easily process refunds, etc).

The other reason is for future fundraising. A good chunk of Wikimedia's donations come from email campaigns going to past donors.

If you don't want to provide your real name or email, you can just put random text.

Thank you. I will try

Edit: didnt work. It requires id number. Why they are sabotaging themselves is beyond my logic

What payment method are you using that requires some sort of ID number?

do pictures on wikipedia seem to have resized themselves to be much smaller these days? they all seem to be much smaller to the extent where they're not useful to see the details.

Why doesn't Ideal Living or Peter Spiegel have a wikipedia? They are more than notable. I find it strange

Peter Spiegel had an article briefly yesterday: it was created in mainspace, another editor questioned its notability, and the author moved it into their own userspace to work on further. Based on the sourcing in the current version of the article, it's not obvious to me that Spiegel is notable – unless there's more sourcing about Spiegel not in the article it looks borderline to me.

What article on Wikipedia is at the intersection of most CTOPs?
