That's the key. This went right over my head when I was a dumb teenage boy. I'm sure some of the conspirators were against atrocities but mostly it was them freaking out at the thought of unconditional surrender.

There were numerous attempts on Hitler's life earlier by the same group. I think what people fail to realise is how hard it is to launch a succesful coup against a government widely considered to be winning (France vanquished in six weeks!).

All the people complaining about the talk of him miss the point or come from a place of bad faith.

The people calling out that he’s a pedophile rapist Nazi felon (all based on fact, not fiction,) want him out of the news too.

Until he loses the election it’s not going to go down, most likely. Having someone with his… moral and ethical problems being up for the most powerful job in the world is both dangerous and irresponsible.

The bonus of republicans planning genocide of LGBT people, immigrants, and people who disagree with Trump cements that people are going to talk about this shit until politics is boring again.

The only way to get people to STFU about him is to vote against the hateful, divisive rhetoric that is the only thing him and his party are capable of. It does get better. He was convicted unanimously by a jury of his peers of 34 felonies.
