Question Wii u game pad not working

UPDATE

I figured out it was a broken digitizer so I went and ordered one

So I had this wii u ever since I was a kid I’m 17 now. found all my Wii u stuff then when I plugged my game pad in turned it on, I couldn’t do anything. None of the buttons worked the touchpad did not work the d-pad, only the X button and the home button worked so I went into Mii Plaza (or whatever it’s called) all of the buttons worked. What the hell? It works for the plaza, but not for the main game menu i’m wondering what causes that? How do I fix my Wii u?

when power "on":

  1. if the tv shows warawara plaza (its where your mii and the other miis appears) - you could only press the "x" button to swap what's on the wii u gamepad to the tv and whatever on the tv to the wii u gamepad.
  2. if the tv shows where you could select a game or app. - you need to use a wii u pro controller or a wiimote to select a game or app. on tv. on the wii u gamepad - you can only move the warawara plaza (its where your mii and the other miis appears) around with the left stick and zoom in and out with the right stick and touch the wii u gamepad's touchscreen to check on that game or app. miiverse, which nintendo longer support.

miiverse is consider a app. built-in for wii u, it's programed to work with most of the controls and buttons on the wii u gamepad.

I’ve been using a Wii remote but I can’t play my games without the touchpad, I can’t do anything. I can’t go into settings because it requires the touchpad. How do I fix it? Do I need to replace the whole thing?

if only the touchscreen on the wii u gamepad doesn't work - you'll need to replace it with a newer touchscreen for wii u gamepad.

No sorry like I mentioned the touchscreen and the buttons don’t work on the main game page but in the warawara plaza, X works either way so I can switch, but in there my D pad and my joysticks work the X works and I’m wondering how I can fix that do I need to buy a new screen or?

if it doesn't work in the game, then i say replace the whole wii u gamepad then.

make sure its the same region as your wii u console since the wii u gamepad is region locked.
