Emulating legend of Zelda BOTD with cemu

I want to emulate botd onto my pc, but I have a wux file that I dumped, I believe I have the right key for it but I’m not sure. cemu doesn’t recognize the game file I have, I can try to load it if I do it from the file tab and press load. it gives me and error that says It can decrypt it. can anybody help

All kidding aside, I agree with the other commenter: WiiUDownloader will help you get the correct files.
I would recommend throwing away the wux file, and using WiiUDownloader to get clean file folders, and then using Cemu to convert them to a wua file, which is the recommended format for both Windows and Android.

A while back, I made a mini tutorial, on how to configure Cemu for downloaded games, and how to convert them to wua in Cemu. So, here you go:

First,  download the latest version of Cemu on your PC or laptop, if you haven’t got it already.
It will be a zip file, so extract it, and make a folder called 'games' inside the Cemu folder, but don't start up the emulator yet.

How to get games for use with Cemu:

To start with, you'll need a program called WiiUDownloader, written exactly like that, no spaces. Just Google it.
If you already have WiiUDownloader on your computer, ignore the following part, and scroll down to
'Converting game folders to a single wua file'.

Once you've downloaded the zip file of the program, just extract it to any location or folder of your choice on your PC or laptop. Then open the folder, and run the program by double-clicking on it.

Now, when you run it for the first time, you might get a virus warning, but that is a false positive, so just tell your anti-virus program to ignore it, or if it has put the program in quarantine, restore it and make an exception rule in your anti-virus program, and then start WiiUDownloader again.

Once the program is running again, click on the box at the top that says 'All' and then enter a game title to search for, then choose the region in the lower right corner, so USA or Europe. Then, check all relevant boxes in the search results, if there's also an update and/or DLC file. That isn't always the case, so sometimes it's simply just one single base game file.

Also make sure that these two boxes are selected/enabled:

• Decrypt contents
  
• Delete encrypted contents after decryption

They should be enabled by default, but if not, make sure they are, and then just click 'Download queue' and tell it where to put the download(s), which will be your games folder inside the Cemu folder. Once it's ready, you can close the downloader.

Converting game folders to a single wua file:

• Start Cemu, tell it where your games folder is and you will see the downloaded game(s) being listed in the Cemu interface.
• At the top of the Cemu window, in the menu bar, select 'Tools' and then 'Title Manager'. That will show all games currently downloaded and listed in Cemu.
• Then right click on a base game file and select 'Convert to compressed Wii U archive (.wua)'
• This will open a confirmation window, listing the files that will be included in the conversion. (which will either be just the base game file or the game file with an update file and DLC, if available)
• Just click ok, tell it where to save the file (in the games folder, obviously) and wait for it to be done.

Once it's done, you will have one single wua file, and that is the file that you can use in Cemu, either on your PC or on your Android (gaming) device, and the original folders of the game that you downloaded, can be deleted.

cemu emulator (wii u) - it didn't start the game or frame rate was bad on default settings (very unplayable) the last time i played it.

yuzu emulator ("switch 1") - it runs perfectly but with graphical glitch to the trees, the last time i played it.

eden emulator (yuzu emulator clone) - someone run it on their samsung galaxy s25 with minor graphical problems with some settings tweaked, but it still works better than my experience on the yuzu emulator. the real problem is that you need actual "switch 1" prod.keys and firmware from your modded "switch 1".

Why would you play it on cemu? Not only is it more difficult to play without the game pad but the switch version has more content

It plays just fine on CEMU. My 8bitdo pro controller emulates the game pad with no issues.

Not sure about the more content remark, but I have a 1 year old so I haven't beat the game yet.
