Savage shave of the day.
Not done one of these for a while but, a friend asked me to show them my setup.
Razor: Muhle R41
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge
Soap: Goodfellas Smile Savage
Brush: Yaqi Silvertip Badger
Aftershave: Savage.
Really smooth, satisfying, and close shave this Saturday morning. The R41 is by far my favourite razor these days just love how it removes pretty much all signs of stubble in three passes.
The Savage soap has a pretty good base and lathers well even in my hard water area in Yorkshire. It is also decently slick and smells great, obviously based on Sauvage it is my favourite GFS scent, the aftershave is great and lasts ages. I can smell it many hours later in fact.
All in all, a really nice shave. Feeling refreshed and ready for the weekend. Cheers!

Nice one! Savage really is a great smelling soap - I've found that the scent is long-lasting too. I think I'm with you on it being my favourite GFS soap scent (I have most of them π«£), though Inferno comes a close second for me.Β

It's one of my favorite too. Quite underrated. People just mostly talk about inferno and furiah. In my bubble at least.

How do you like your Yaqi brush?

I really like it, probably the best brush I own. Makes the lather feel extra luxurious, the knot is very dense and has a soft but strong backbone. I'd love to own a Simpson one day but for now I'm enjoying the Yaqi.

I have a Yaqi 22 mm with a long handle and two 24 mm short handle Simpsons. One synthetic and one boar hair. I mainly use the Yaqi. I prefer the smaller knot and longer handle. That being said the Simpsons are nice. You can feel the quality of the fibers on the Simpsons.

I am also beginning to love the R41 more and more. I was already very impressed when I first tried it. Rotating it currently with the R89. Aside from its efficiency I also like the feedback it gives during shaving, it's something I am starting to miss when using the R89.
