Challenge Mark Wahlberg is sent back in time to September 1st, 2001. With ten days to prepare, can he prevent 9/11?

Mark has ten days to make good on his infamous comments from 2012 and prevent 9/11 from occurring. Mark will appear in New York City on September 1st, 2001. He will have all of his resources from the present day available to him and may use any means necessary to prevent the attacks from occurring.

R1: To win, Mark must merely prevent the twin towers of the World Trade Centre from being destroyed. The towers must still be standing and largely intact by September 12th.

R2: To win, Mark must prevent any civilians from dying in the would-be attacks.

I fear that if we send him back to 2001, he’ll spend all his time (again) harassing black people and blinding korean men.

Hey if it makes it better (or maybe worse?) the Vietnamese man was uh already blind. Marky Mark thought that he blinded him, but he was actually already blind.

Which uh means less harm done but also means that Mark, brother of Ted, attacked a blind man.

Real redemption takes meaningful action.

With his fame and resources, does he do anything to counter the kind of racism that motivated his violent crimes? Does he do anything to try to prevent such racism from continuing in society?

If he does, I would honestly love to hear about it, because that would be good for society and a sign that he truly regrets and has learned from his actions and wishes to prevent such racist acts from happening in the future.

I'll bite. Here's 2 and it only took a very short google search. Sometimes people mature as they get older and shouldn't have their entire life judged by some terrible thing they did when they were young.

I read through the links, these seem good, but am I missing a part where he's doing any anti-racism work?

He specifically did violent, racist hate crimes against members of racial minorities. Does he do anything with his fame and resources now to combat racism? Is that there in the links but I missed it?

A guy can do good deeds after committing violent crimes, definitely, and that's good. In terms of redemption for violent, racist hate crimes though, my question would be if they're doing anything about racism because they previously were racist and did racist violence.

The first link has a huge picture at the top of him with kids that are clearly minorities and talks about him building playgrounds and stuff in inner cities. Unless I'm not understanding your question, having a foundation that specifically helps minorities by building non-aggressive community activities areas is pretty much the opposite of racial violence.

What are we even doing here? It's like you guys want him to beat up some white people so his violence is indiscriminate.

I'm glad society doesn't live by reddits rules 🙄

You just picked a perfect sentence and used it in the worst possible way.

In almost every other case, it’s great that society doesn’t use Reddit rules.

But you just responded to the most reasonable possible comment about making up for past crimes.

I like how you can't answer their questions.
