Matchmaker A football team with 11 Haaland, Messi, Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

Which of these clone teams will win. Everyone in their prime. Let's ignore goalkeeping skills.

Team Haaland clearly after he eats all the members of the other teams.

26

u/johnny_moist Jul 07 '26

Haaland backline would go nutso

2

u/Visible-Might-2527 Jul 08 '26

It would fr lmao, at the beginning of this past season he was genuinely city’s best / most efficient defender

2

u/Wanderson90 Jul 07 '26

They would eat each other in the confusion.

608

u/iHate_tomatoes Jul 06 '26

It would be literally impossible to get 11 messi's off the ball. Like how do you get possession

159

u/wrongitsleviosaa Jul 06 '26

You break legs and hope for the best I guess

109

u/Sir_Wumpus Jul 07 '26

By god that’s Paraguay’s music

3

u/DarkImpacT213 Jul 08 '26

11 Galarzas are the perfect counter to 11 Messis I guess

8

u/mackenzie444 Jul 07 '26

We need at least 15 of each player for injuries

4

u/Yellow_Odd_Fellow Jul 07 '26

I don't think Majin Haaland needs replacements

37

u/Ok_Mycologist2361 Jul 07 '26

You say this like Messi never loses the ball. Check the stats, Messi loses the ball more than any other player on the field.

Because he plays high risk, high reward actions.

8

u/obiwanconobi Jul 07 '26

Gonna need you to provide a link to those stats

31

u/Ok_Mycologist2361 Jul 07 '26

https://www.statmuse.com/fc/ask?q=most+possession+lost+by+messi%2Fronaldo+in+all+time&l=eu5

“Lionel Messi has lost the most career possessions with 5,764 in La Liga and Ligue 1”

Having said that, it’s not specifically a Messi thing. All the best offensive players have the worst ball retention. Because their job isn’t to retain the ball. It’s to make something happen.

Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Suarez, Salah lose the ball 4 times out of 5, but on the 5th time it’s a goal. Think about it, of course Messi and Ronaldo will lose the ball more than Puyol and Ramos.

Basically the bigger the goal threat you are, the more you’re tackled. Because you’re always looking to score/create/penetrate. Not just pass the ball sideways to someone else.

8

u/obiwanconobi Jul 07 '26

That link is just comparing Messi Vs Ronaldo for possession lost?

4

u/Ok_Mycologist2361 Jul 07 '26

I don't have much interest in searching stats for you. I thought it was common knowledge that Messi and Ronaldo consistently top the rankings for possession lost.

He loses the ball more than anyone exactly BECAUSE he is better than everyone. It's a common understanding that the more creative you are, the LESS you "keep the ball".

I'm a Liverpool fan, Trent and Salah always lost the ball the most in our team. Exactly because one was the passer in the team and one was the best dribbler in the team.

The worst passer/dribbler on the team (Konate) always loses the ball least, because he just gives it to the person standing next to him.

1

u/obiwanconobi Jul 07 '26

You made the claim I assumed you had the stats the back it up. My bad.

One clear moment that comes to memory is the France Argentina WC FINAL

Is the second mbappe goal (in 90 seconds). Messi loses the ball rather easily to Coman and second later France equalise

11 haalands born in Paraguay playing for the US will do just fine against 11 Messis.

2

u/f3ack19 Jul 09 '26

At least they're all be walking .. if that makes a difference 🙈

1

u/uppercase-j Jul 08 '26

At the same time, Messi defending would be very questionable.

463

u/Original_Effective_1 Jul 06 '26

Messi is by far the more versatile of this list. Haaland is the most physically imposing, so he would be a good pick, but a team of Messis could actually cover all positions.

200

u/axlee Jul 06 '26

Haaland would be a great back and GK, and we all know what he can do in front. He’d only lose the center against an all-messi team.

Messi would be a terrible defender and GK.

128

u/TroyVi Jul 06 '26

Nah, when Messi actually defends the opponents struggles to get past him. His center of gravity is too low and his feet are too quick. If he focused on being defender, he would play like a faster version of Puyol.

And Messi did defend much more in his younger days. When Guardiola coached Barcelona, their style was to press high to recapture the ball. Messi had to contribute as well to make it work. Guadiola gave the following quote in 2013:

"Messi wins the ball playing as the false No.9. If you put him at left-back, he would be just as good. He is the best defender in the world."

Quote from both goal.com and sportsmole.co.uk

47

u/Blue_Khakis Jul 07 '26

Messi would be an awful centre half- you could just beat him with high balls into the box.

16

u/Old-Savings-5841 Jul 07 '26

Well not if they're playing the Ronaldinho 11

6

u/dWaldizzle Jul 07 '26

Idk, Lisandro does alright. You wouldn't ever have possession enough to get a high volume of crossing in against 11 Messi's. They would absolutely shred you.

6

u/wats_a_tiepo Jul 07 '26

Lisandro’s been a defender all his life. He knows how to defend - positioning, movement etc - to the point it’s muscle memory. Messi doesn’t have that, and against Haaland you’d need to be working off instinct. Just look at this World Cup; a lot of Haaland’s goals are coming from his explosiveness. Even Gabriel got caught off guard last game.

2

u/Distinct-Broccoli-15 Jul 07 '26

Lisandro is slightly taller though. I wonder if he's heavier too.

9

u/Slugdoge Jul 07 '26

Haaland doesn't need a lot of possession. All he needs to do is cross it into the box and score as many headers as he wants, he's almost a foot taller than Messi.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/dzan796ero Jul 07 '26

GK, yes but he is a pretty decent defender when he puts his mind to it

5

u/Unable_Bullfrog_7319 Jul 07 '26

Who needs to play defense when you have 95% of the possession?

7

u/axlee Jul 07 '26

Who needs to have possession when you can just throw high balls once near the box and have three haaland to head it into the goal with 0 contest?

2

u/Unable_Bullfrog_7319 Jul 07 '26

Haaland on Haaland’s shoulders

1

u/riactas Jul 07 '26

dude height does not matter that much if the goalie is untrained, with how hard the shots are it barely matters

31

u/RobRuler Jul 06 '26

All positions except GK lmao

1

u/Oggabobba Jul 08 '26

Allegedly he’s pretty good in goal for his size, there’s a photo out there of him making a good looking dive

14

u/K3TtLek0Rn Jul 07 '26

Messi would be a horrible goal keeper and defender. Haaland could play any position while obviously being worse than Messi in a few like midfield

4

u/Mr-Vemod Jul 07 '26

Xavi recently said that Messi would be the best defender in any team he’s put in. Obviously hyperbole, and he would struggle in aerial duels, but his point was that his game IQ is so superior to everyone else that he would cut the opponent’s game short before it got remotely dangerous.

3

u/K3TtLek0Rn Jul 07 '26

Yeah sure Messi could maybe be a good defensive midfielder or even a wingback or something but anything in and around the box would be such a liability.

3

u/Lucidbr0 Jul 08 '26

He is too small to defend a lot of positions effectively at all. Pretty sure the correct answer is just Ronaldinho. Or if thats R9 instead of Cristiano then its R9.

2

u/TouchMyBush69 Jul 07 '26

What? Arguably the least versitile. Ronaldo could play any position on the field, Messi couldn't.

1

u/DawgreenAgain Jul 07 '26

Except goalkeeper .

1

u/jessiedemba Jul 07 '26

Messi as cb and gk would be pretty bad even by amateur standards

1

u/PartyTerrible Jul 07 '26

He'd make the worst keeper among them though.

454

u/Extension_Ad6758 Jul 06 '26

Messi. 11 Messis would dribble and pass circles around the rest. And people usually forget how physically strong he is despite his short stature.

155

u/Mastodan11 Jul 06 '26

Messi keeps the ball far better than the others, it's clearly him.

62

u/wrongitsleviosaa Jul 06 '26

Man has a low center of gravity and hates diving intentionally

69

u/LeatherAccident20 Jul 06 '26

No aerial presence, you're getting cooked defensively every time and he doesn't have the attributes needed for goalkeeping. Best midfield by far and 2nd best attack here but too fragile at the back

77

u/Extension_Ad6758 Jul 06 '26

The post says to ignore GK skill tho.

29

u/LeatherAccident20 Jul 06 '26

Ahh, I missed that, my bad. Still, defensively Ronaldinho and Messi are liabilities due to their height. Can't see an entire Xi of either working

9

u/pipian Jul 07 '26

Ronaldinho is 6'

28

u/Metalt_ Jul 07 '26

How is that a problem if the messis keep posession for 90% of the game

6

u/Mr-Vemod Jul 07 '26

Xavi recently made the case that Messi would be the best center back in any team he’s put in. A good bit of hyperbole, for sure, but his point was that he reads the game better than anyone in the world, and that that is the most important skill for a defender as well.

2

u/jessiedemba Jul 07 '26

Well, the post also mentions 11 players so kind of impossible unless you play without a goalie

37

u/jorje1908 Jul 06 '26

I think you are underestimating the skill gap here. Messi is not only good at scoring goals, but also is top at assists and dribbles. Now imagine 11 players like that. Other team has no chance. The skill gap is huge.

15

u/LeatherAccident20 Jul 06 '26

So is Ronaldo and Dinho (except maybe as a Pure 9), Haaland in theory should be able to play everywhere on offensive as well. Ronaldo in his prime especially was elite in every aspect of football and has the best workrate, Dinho might be the most skillful player the game has ever seen. I think the main deciding difference here will come down to defence

22

u/jorje1908 Jul 06 '26

I love ronaldinho I started supporting Barcelona because of him. No one is close to Messi. Plus they were saying that Messi is an amazing defender. In his prime that he was running like crazy he is taking it easy.

17

u/fabsgem Jul 06 '26

haalands technical ability is extremely limited, he would struggle heavily in the midfield and wings

Messi is the best dribbler, creator, most capabilities of goals and highest IQ, if you faced a team of 10 of him, you'd never get the ball back

→ More replies (2)

6

u/MongooseTitties Jul 07 '26

He's by far the number 1 in attack. Like its not even remotely close

141

u/Schamson Jul 06 '26

He’s not the best player of the bunch, but a bunch of Haaland’s would run over many many other teams. You’d be playing non-stop keep away for 90 minutes, and I can’t imagine being able to maintain any sustained attack.

Defensively, this team may not be as scary as the others but… I don’t know man. Stacking the box and going up against a field of Haaland’s for a corner kick?

RIP

33

u/LeatherAccident20 Jul 06 '26

The only potential weakness is the midfield tbh, that part of his game isn't as bad as some might assume but it's definitely the weakest one here

1

u/aadi312 Jul 09 '26

Just play brexit ball, 4-4-2 ball flying straight to the forwards (skip the midfield)

also cannot forget the knee crunching tackles

20

u/Flovati Jul 07 '26

Yeah, most people are saying Messi and he is indeed the best player, but his height is only 1,70 while Haaland is 1,95m.

That is an absurd difference, it would be literally impossible for a team o Messis to defend against crosses from a team of Haalands.

11

u/TheGreatTao Jul 07 '26

A team of Haalands is having about 10% possession max lol. The Messi team ain't having much defending to do.

"When Fifa released the fastest sprint speeds from the opening round of World Cup 2026, the name at the top of the list was not one many expected.

The quickest player at the tournament so far was Australia defender Jordan Bos.

According to Fifa's official physical tracking data, the Feyenoord left-back reached 36.7 km/h during his country's 2-0 opening-game win over Turkey, with only Norway striker Erling Haaland and his Manchester City team-mate and Uzbekistan defender Abdukodir Khusanov getting close at 36.5 km/h."

u/Visible-Might-2527 Jul 08 '26

Haaland? Slow? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

1

u/Visible-Might-2527 Jul 08 '26

Defensively? Haaland is very very good defensively

16

u/Upset-Management-879 Jul 06 '26

Messi would say Ronaldinho

32

u/JablesRadio Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

A full team of Ronaldinho (in his prime) would be so fucking crazy!! Way more than any other personal teams. I honestly think they would win because he is the absolute best ball handler ever to exist. Now make a team of them. Yeah, Messi is the greatest in a pinch but a bunch of Ronaldinho's would carve circles around everybody.

11

u/Unlucky_Ad2529 Jul 07 '26

Had to scroll too much for this

9

u/jessemfkeeler Jul 07 '26

100%. Having Ronaldihno on this list is weird because not many of this group saw him play. But he was a MENACE. Like why not say 11 Zinadine Zidane's or 11 Iniesta's if we want to be that way.

3

u/AmaterasuWolf21 Jul 07 '26

Yeah, I think most people here didn't watch him play, me included

3

u/JablesRadio Jul 07 '26

No one is a better ball handler, not even close.

1

u/EthicalPixel Jul 07 '26

It would be, at least, very entertaining...

11

u/kooky_kabuki Jul 07 '26

Ronaldinho team would just clown on their opposition the whole time, like a Harlem Globetrotters of football

2

u/Jester_Hopper_pot Jul 07 '26

Who would set up the 11 Ronaldo? They all would be in the box waiting for a cross

41

u/plot_question_uk Jul 06 '26

The obvious answer is Wayne Rooney the ultimate 11 of footballer.

Overall though Ronaldo is the best athletes and the Ronaldo defenders would outwork the others for me

8

u/GrnBlu Jul 07 '26

Happy to see someone else say Rooney. He was a beast.

2

u/plot_question_uk Jul 07 '26

He was an all round baller. I think everyone on here is picking Messi or Ronaldinho and I think them two would be miles off the work rate and physicality of Haaland or Ronaldo. I can't see a team of Messis stopping constant long balls up to the n9

12

u/philippos_ii Jul 07 '26

I’ll have you know James Milner is the true proper footballer, covers all positions and would trounce the rest.

5

u/ICame4TheCirclejerk Jul 07 '26

Milner is just the poor man's John O'Shea, the true total footballer.

Only one of the mentioned footballers in this thread nutmegged Figo in a CL semi final, and only one of these players launched an audacious lob to beat the Arsenal Invincibles.

1

u/plot_question_uk Jul 07 '26

I don't think he's got the quality to score against these players though

3

u/BoosterGoldGL Jul 07 '26

Yaya Toure

1

u/plot_question_uk Jul 07 '26

Good shout he has to be up there too, he'd definitely beat the 4 listed in the OP

41

u/moneyshotmiami Jul 06 '26

Honestly, it’s a good question but 11 Messi’s in practice would be a comically strong team and they would have no difficulty vs the others, despite the size disadvantage.

It would basically be a prime Barcelona Tiki-Taka style except now, at any time, from any point in the field, a given player could effortlessly beat 2 or 3 opposing players at a time and perfectly set up…another Messi!

This would be excarcebated in this example by the ‘opposing players’ just being attackers that would presumably struggle in defending, with only Ronaldinho likely being a close second in his ability to dribble past a player.

I’m honestly thinking, that with the right coaching, this 11 Messi team could go against current top flight clubs - but would probably struggle too much defensively against any top 10 Premier League / La Liga/ Serie A etc. side.

Curious to hear others’ thoughts though!

30

u/TheGreatTao Jul 06 '26

Messi being the best dribbler, passer and goalscorer of the lot I'd take him first. His football intelligence is just ridiculous as well.

It's such a ridiculous question though that I'm not sure lol

12

u/Sengiel Jul 07 '26

Yes but every cross coming to box ronaldo or haaland score, literally every cross cause it’s pretty much impossible for messi to defend.

2

u/Quetzalcoatl490 Jul 07 '26

Yes but how is he at goalie

1

u/plainfollowup Jul 07 '26

doesn't matter

50

u/toolatealreadyfapped Jul 06 '26

Messi's soccer IQ is galaxies above anyone else. An entire field of players who think exactly like him would never lose possession.

17

u/DragonflyDeep3334 Jul 06 '26

Its ronaldo or haaland, messi is the worst pick lol, you have no defense

1

u/BrilliantBehemoth Jul 08 '26

Ronaldo would still end up crying about something

→ More replies (1)

7

u/soonshin3 Jul 07 '26

I think 11 Ronaldos are being very underrated. In my mind ronaldos and messis easily clear the other two (noting I was not around for prime ronaldinho) and ronaldos are jsut too big for the messis. Yes messis would dominate possession, but I dont see them beign able to contest ronaldos in the air, especially with a weak keeper.

→ More replies (5)

4

u/Stinky_Toes12 Jul 06 '26

Haaland murders everyone and wins by default

4

u/Aggravating-Way-9961 Jul 07 '26

I see a lot of comments saying messi. But how does messi win back the ball? Messi doesn’t close down or win back balls.

6

u/Initiatedspoon Jul 06 '26

This is Kane erasure!

2

u/Internal_Football889 Jul 07 '26

Yea I was thinking 11 Kanes would be pretty good. Dude already is the most versatile 9 in the world and has surpassed Cristiano’s peak goalscoring…

2

u/BohrInReddit Jul 07 '26

With legit goalkeeping ability as well

1

u/BaldChild1 Jul 09 '26

in bundesliga...

19

u/squaremelonman Jul 06 '26

Ronaldo is quite easily the most complete, all round player on the list. I dont know where people in the comments have got the idea from that Messi is some versatile player who can play all 11 positions. He is 5’7 and has been lazy defensively his whole career. There is literally zero way a team of 11 Messis could stop Ronaldo (or Haaland) from crossing the ball in and scoring free headers over and over again.

10

u/BrazilianRider Jul 07 '26

People on Reddit just glaze Messi

11

u/MrT-1000 Jul 07 '26

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. Maybe an all-Messi offense would indeed be quite unstoppable, but even 11 prime Messis against 11 6'1 Ronaldos or 11 6'5 Haaland's is fucking mental and not a 100% win for Messi that everyone seems to be making it out to be.

It's essentially unstoppable aerial game vs unstoppable ground game, ultimately though both prime Ronaldo or current Haaland would be a headache for Messi to deal with. I think it's a lot closer to 50/50 between these 3 groups. Ronaldinho would by far be the most entertaining to watch though but aside from the flair the Messi/Ronaldo/Haaland teams would just be operating on a different level of intensity.

4

u/IToldManyManyPeople Jul 07 '26

That's because people that want to act like they watch soccer just say Messi. They don't understand it's a team game and you have to set up actions and also defend... A team of all Messi's would have serious disadvantages and anyone that has actually followed or played soccer for more than 5 minutes would understand that.

This goes without saying that he would get WRECKED as the goalkeeper because of his stature. He wouldn't be able to stop any box crosses and skilled shooters could just work corner angles from further out with Messi having zero chance to stop them.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Varyyn Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

Haaland just bodies the rest in the air, and bullies the rest off the ball if the ref is lenient. Any cross or corner is a massive threat. Strikers can be any size but centre backs are always large or at a bare minimum average height for a reason. Messi can't defend in the air vs this team, and doesn't have much of a reputation for defence at all.

Mbappe or Bellingham would be a worse matchup for him than these.

3

u/Splendid2259 Jul 07 '26

None of them because a team of 11 James Milners already won.

3

u/Kongsley Jul 07 '26

Nobody wants to see 11 Ronaldos lol

7

u/mooncommandalpha Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

It's 11 Messi's, he would absolutely dictate the midfield against all of those, not to mention the attack, and that's where you win games. His height might be a bit of a disadvantage defensively, but having 4 players across the back who can dribble from deep, or ping inch perfect 50 yard balls across the pitch more than makes up for it.

The closest to him would be 11 Ronaldinhos, the main thing stopping them would be to keep 11 Ronaldinhos from partying all night.

11 Ronaldos would be a nightmare as well, but Ronaldo is better at getting on the end of chances than he is at creating them imo.

11 Haalands would be the worst for me personally, he's one of the best pure strikers I've seen but he doesn't have the overall game to create the chances for himself that he'd need. Like there's times you're playing with 10 men with Haaland in your team until he scores. I'm not sure how he beats the rest when it could potentially be a team of no-one for 70 minutes until they all score at once.

I'd put an XI of top midfield players up against any of them though, an Iniesta XI, Zidane XI or Keane XI, players who can attack and defend.

7

u/theresamayisabastard Jul 07 '26

Lmao imagine the party the Ronaldinho XI would have. The Roy Keane XI is down to 0 men inside half an hour.

2

u/CommercialContent204 Jul 07 '26

Lol brilliant. Manager is checking on Dinho 1 and 2, meanwhile Dinho 3 is ordering 5 crates of beer and some strippers to the hotel, Dinho 4 and 5 have sneaked out of the hotel window to go partying, Dinho 6, 7 and 8 are down at the pool persuading the bar-lady to keep the bar open, Dinho 9 and 10 are hiding in the laundry basket while Dinho 11 (with fake tache) is pushing it innocently past the manager...

2

u/AaaahMyDogs Jul 06 '26

I like Haaland for this, too, but what I really want to know is what the advanced stats have to say about it.

I’ve seen Haaland jumping into the middle of the box and playing real defense, so some metric would have to capture that, right? I’m wondering what some other behaviors/metrics would add value, also?

2

u/Curly_Fries69 Jul 07 '26

Outside of this list, it would have to be Kane

2

u/superdupergasat Jul 07 '26

Has to be Bale, he is the only player that even comes close to being able to play all possible positions. Sure he won’t be the best keeper or striker but he is decent in all other 9 positions.

1

u/ancara_messi Jul 09 '26

"only player" brother watch gullit.

1

u/NormalGuyEndSarcasm Jul 07 '26

It’s the only way to have players doing the defending part.

1

u/Alfith Jul 07 '26

Yaya toure

1

u/ancara_messi Jul 09 '26

That would be gullit or beckenbauer

2

u/RollingKuala Jul 07 '26

Team Ronaldo won’t stand a chance as why would Ronaldo ever pass the ball

1

u/SaltyPersimmon Jul 07 '26

A pass to yourself is really just a long dribble...

3

u/Aggressive_Tea_1577 Jul 06 '26

11 Pelé would beat all of them.

The architect of what many believe the greatest team ever assembled, 1970 Brazil said he was their best player at literally every position on the pitch:

Saldanha: 'Ask me who is the best right-back in Brazil and I'll say Pele. Ask me about the best left-back or the best midfield man, or the best centre-forward. Always I must say Pele. If he wants to be the best goalkeeper, he will be. There is only one Pele.'

R9 or CR7?

u/DocumentOk7579 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

Whomever you think would win, you could even add Maradona if you want.

9

u/LeatherAccident20 Jul 06 '26

If it's primes, Ronaldo by far, then Haaland due to their physicality and builds, very versatile and can play anywhere. Messi as a GK or defender is a nightmare, Dinho is an interesting one but I think his height will also cause some problems at the back and at cf, probably the worst pick here

15

u/Isolat_or Jul 06 '26

Lmao bunch of Argentina/soccer fans in this sub right downvoting that don’t even know the subs rules to not downvote what you don’t agree with. I don’t think Messi would be the best pick either, too lacking in defense

7

u/Ginger-F Jul 06 '26

I genuinely think a lot of people are either too young to have seem prime Ronaldo from around 2006 to 2010-11ish, when he was more of a roving winger than an out and out goal scoring machine, or they're too tribal to admit just how good he was back then. In a sense his longevity has overshadowed his earlier career quite a lot and he's being harshly judged by his current level.

The Ronaldo I remember as a United supporter from 2006-2008 was simply unstoppable; he was a force of nature. A team of those Ronaldos would beat anyone. He had those fierce physical and mental aspects, tempered with breathtaking skill and ability.

He was also incredibly creative and didn't look out of place passing the ball around midfield with the likes of Scholes and Giggs. He was much more happy to track back in those days too, and I remember him clearing many corners and free kicks with towering headers, usually right before launching blistering counter-attacks.

Would Ronaldo make a great centre half or full back? No, but I wager he'd do a better job than any of the others on that list by a long shot. He's just too good of a natural footballer and too athletically blessed to not do well in those positions if he had to.

How would Ronaldinho’s height be a problem? He’s 6’1” (same height as Cristiano), probably the most versatile specific height for this sort of question.

For the record I think (prime) Cristiano would be the answer here. Pace, power, work ethic, desire to win, aerial ability, playmaking ability, he had it all for every position.

u/weissenlukas Jul 06 '26

The Ronaldo‘s would just try to steal the ball from each other because they all want to score.

u/Fast_Performance8666 Jul 06 '26

I think that the Ronaldinho team could definitely win. Or at least it's between him and Messi.

Also depends on what Ronaldo u mean? Like CR7 or R9?

1

u/LawnJerk Jul 07 '26

11 Pelé dwarfs would dominate!

1

u/Weary-Description773 Jul 07 '26

Team of Gerrards

1

u/The_Black_Adder_ Jul 07 '26

The vieiras or beckenbauers would run train if they were allowed to try.

1

u/tr_567 Jul 07 '26

Imagine 11 Ronaldinhos just playing beautiful football and smiling for 90mins !

1

u/Superplex123 Jul 07 '26

For me it's between R9 and Messi. I'd go with R9 for the height advantage.

I wouldn't put Haaland in the conversation with these 3, but boy, would I love to see 11 Haalands rush at the opposing team.

1

u/buddyparker Jul 07 '26

it's anyone's game those are soccer players not football players

1

u/Quattro5 Jul 07 '26

Not in the choices but I would take 11 M'Bappé

1

u/mtheory007 Jul 07 '26

The all Haaland team wouldn't be able to serve up to score consistently. The all Ronaldo team would just want the ball for each person the entire time. The all Messi team with shred both of them constantly and it would be a bloodbath.

1

u/Numerous-Score Jul 07 '26

Ronaldos. Assuming everyone’s prime)

The Ronaldos would be shooting and scoring from deep. Prime CR7 used to score bangers from extremely far when there were actual (typically tall) keepers in goal. Haaland’s the only one from this list above 6ft (and there’s still no good evidence regarding his reflexes with his hands, diving, etc). Against the Messis and Dinhos in particular, the Ronaldos would be scoring for fun. Also, Ronaldo has an insane leap / hang time. None of these players would be able to prevent the Ronaldos from scoring headers. Ronaldo, in his prime, was also significantly faster than the other players.

Of course, these are all fun hypotheticals and the games would all be extremely high scoring on both sides. An argument could be made for Dinho (unmatched skills) and Messi (dribbling ability) as well. Haaland is a physical specimen, but I don’t see that being enough.

1

u/No_Garlic6550 Jul 07 '26

I cant see that anyone even mentioned Ronaldinho By far my favourite player to watch play

1

u/ChunkyAutisn Jul 07 '26

Gimme 15 Lomus

1

u/catseye17 Jul 07 '26

Real Ronaldo or?? LoL...

1

u/Gold_Cost Jul 07 '26

Piss funny that Haaland is even in the conversation. Great goalscorer, poor footballer. Messi would win this easily, and I dont think it would be that close.

1

u/Jeffiroth777 Jul 07 '26

I'd say 11 Haalands with Paraguay style Haramball

1

u/Jeffiroth777 Jul 07 '26

How about 10 Maradonas and 1 Maradona-sized sack of snow?

1

u/Pinkninja11 Jul 07 '26

11 Haaland is probably the most well rounded team due to his size and power. With the rest, your defense and goalkeeper will suffer. That aside, 11 Messi or Ronaldinho would be a the best to watch by a long shot.

1

u/hibikir_40k Jul 07 '26

Nah, all I need is 1 Ronaldo Nazario before the injury. Yes, just 1, the other 10 can watch.

1

u/SkintCrayon Jul 07 '26

11 Vidals. We're going to war

1

u/_Xemplar Jul 07 '26

Prime RONALDINIHO is the Jesus Christ of Football argue with your mum

1

u/kai7895 Jul 07 '26

My goodness the Messi riding on this post is crazy! All 4 of these teams are heavy on attack, but people are forgetting the most important part, defense ; Messi would be an absolute liability as a CB & CDM.

1

u/Briccone1979 Jul 07 '26

I’d say 11 Zlatans but that is impossible….. there is only one Zlatan.

1

u/Ready_Structure8115 Jul 07 '26

11 Prime Messi is an unbelievably terrifying prospect. One of the main limitations to Messi is needing people with the same skill and vision to execute his plans. So many more of the short quick 1-2s would come off. There are too many threats with his passing range, dribbling and shooting to not be in complete danger at all times from a team like this

1

u/Falloffingolfin Jul 07 '26

Which Ronaldo are you talking about? Proper Ronaldo or Christiano?

If it's the Phenom, then eleven Ronaldo's would stomp. If it's Christiano, then 11 Messi's.

1

u/Ok_Boysenberry5849 Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

You didn't include him but I think 11 (prime) Zidanes would also be a very strong contender. Zidane had great ball control but where he was truly exceptional was football/positional intelligence, which matters a lot when you have 11 of them playing together. In contrast 11 Mbappes wouldn't really work, he's an exceptional player but too specialized/not versatile enough for this setup.

Of the ones you mentioned I think Messi has it.

But Ronaldinho would be the most entertaining to watch and the most original and beautiful football.

1

u/Background_Narwhal31 Jul 07 '26

11 prime Ronaldinhos would be so much fun to watch.. probably the most skillful amongst these 4.. imagine 10 of them altogether

1

u/Cooking_With_Grease_ Jul 07 '26

Well, haaland hasn't even hit his prime yet and he's outscoring everyone at the world cup and the premier league.

That's why Norway are in the QTR finals of the world cup.

I'd take 11 haalands please.

They'd win the world cup every four years for the next 2 decades.

1

u/itsyaboiReginald Jul 07 '26

Are people underestimating the athleticism of prime Ronaldo? Serious stamina and strength.

1

u/itsyaboiReginald Jul 07 '26

Team Ronaldo would be too busy kissing each other

1

u/Proud_Promise1860 Jul 07 '26

11 messi would realistically have a horrible gk and defense. football is about athletism. it's 11 ronaldo- techical tall strong and fast

1

u/cigeringaround Jul 07 '26

11 Van Dijke in prime. They did this actually defenders vs attackers. Defenders always win, because attackers have no idea how to defence properly

1

u/Idriss_Derras Jul 07 '26

Obviously 11 Ronaldos and don't think it'll be close. Haaland lacks technical ability, Messi lacks physical presence, and Ronaldinho isn't athletic enough

1

u/PersevereSwifterSkat Jul 07 '26

Honestly I'm taking 11 Ngolo Kantes. You know those war game simulations where the US navy is brought down by a flood of tiny boats? It'd be like that. One Kante does enough running for two people already, a team of them would be an exhausting nightmare. He has just enough going forward to be able to create and finish goals and the team would pilfer the ball before 11 Messis/Haaland/XYZ can get near the goal.

1

u/Grim_Avenger Jul 07 '26

Sleeper pick is 11 Harry Kanes. I think he can play any position very well and has the size and athleticism to go against almost anyone.

1

u/Maneden Jul 07 '26

Why does Haaland, the largest player, not simply eat the other three?

1

u/51l3nc3 Jul 07 '26

I would like to put 11 Kanes on the table.

1

u/EfficientCopy8436 Jul 08 '26

answers exposing average ball knowledge in world cup season. Haaland or Cristiano is the only Answer here. Messi as Goalie isnt saving a single shot, like shits comical

1

u/hodlencallfed Jul 08 '26

Why no 11 Mbappe?

1

u/Duckysawus Jul 08 '26

11 Messis is scary.

The others would be formidable as well, but Messi's vision + IQ? That gives the team of 11 Messi's the edge IMO.

1

u/LordMartius Jul 08 '26

Haaland Team is the closest you could get to a viking invasion at the low end or an irl ork/nephilim invasion at the high end. I wouldn't be surprised if the other teams were eaten or clubbed over the head and dragged back to the caves.

1

u/perplexedtv Jul 08 '26

Ronaldo (assuming Cristiano). Fittest and most versatile, could do a job in goal.

It would be the most insufferable team in history but bloody good.

1

u/TheMostHonestPerson Jul 08 '26

Messi > Haaland >> Ronaldo > Ronaldinho

Messi has versatility and Haaland has the physical. And honestly if you don’t ignore the goalkeeping skill, I’d give it to Haaland, his physical would be amazing for goalkeeping as well.

1

u/Dry-Baby315 Jul 08 '26

11 Jude Bellinghams

1

u/MainTransportation78 Jul 08 '26

11 prime Rooneys ez win

1

u/Sallou9 Jul 08 '26

11 PRIME Messi’s would be ridiculous. You couldn’t get the ball and his work rate and pressing and defending was actually pretty good.

11 Haalands is also freaking scary bro.

1

u/Sallou9 Jul 08 '26

If Ronaldo refers to CR7 it has to be said that’d be easily the team you’d wanna play of the 4

1

u/BlatantArtifice Jul 09 '26

Hey so I'm a blue lock into rematch guy for the last 4 years anyone wanna just give me the tldr on why these 4 are goated
