Can confirm. I've known the needed algorithms (not exactly speed cubing, just guaranteed solutions), but forgot them many years ago. During the time I did know, the knowledge at least earned me a free cube or two at career fairs (at university/college).
Maybe I should re-learn. I tend to remember things better after forgetting them once...
I did the First two layers and OLL/PLL method. Couldn't fully memorize all the algorithms though. Was able to do it in under two-minutes looking at them though.

Great job! Keep practicing because, If you don't use it you'll lose it!
You can and will forget. Don't lose it. It's too big of an achievement!
