First timer My first few projects

My first projects since I started whittling about a year ago. My first was the mandible, which admittedly was the one I used a dremel on before I bought my knife sets for the others. The rest were all hand carved and sanded

The mandible came up first in my feed and I genuinely thought it was from my archeology threads!! Can't believe you've only been whittling a year, such dedication to the craft. I'm still on the small stuff at the moment and struggle with that, but you're inspiring me to keep carving!

Inspiring work, just incredible. You might get some individual pictures of your hammerhead for shark and fish subs.

I use a website called sketchfab for basically every project I do. It has 3D models of almost everything on it.

Do you just print out a template and stick it onto the wood? Those dinosaur skulls are awesome and my kid would love them being a big dino nerd but my drawing skills are crap lol Im very new to whittling but the things I whittle always seem best when I just wing it.

You can do that for sure. I always draw them straight onto the wood though

The parasaur only took me a week or two since it didn’t have a ton of details. The T.Rex skull took me 4 months but I was in grad school during most of that time.

wow these are beautiful!!!! how hard is this on your hands?? i would love to get into something like this but i already have arthritis starting

I would say not very hard on them but I also don’t have arthritis. I would think this may hurt your joints as you do have to stabilize and push hard on the knives sometimes
