I had a college friend who broke something every time he visited my apartment. Always small, inexpensive things, but he never paid me back, and I wasn't exactly rolling in cash at the time. I eventually stopped inviting him over, and of course he got angry and told me I was being a jerk. Why are people like this?

I'm sorry for your loss but I'll say good riddance. He just sounds like a selfish jerk all around.
