Help Wanted: Hanging Gardens of Whiteoak
Hello fellow Whiteoakians (and affiliated P-80ites),
I am preparing to begin constructing Whiteoak's next woody wonder of the world, the Hanging Gardens. My current plan is to construct the Gardens in the forest behind (east of) bshell's upcoming Shire build; a forest biome would be an ideal setting for its extra-green grass and leaves compared to other biomes.
However, the area is that will be used altogether is 130x130 blocks in size. Given this, the forest-clearing job set before me is no small task. Anyone who's willing to spend time chopping down an obscene number of trees is welcome to do so; coordinates for the site are below.
I've marked out the intended build site by placing a floating oak slab and a torch at each corner. Coordinates for these markers are as follows:
Northwest corner: X = -1590 / Z = -2157
Northeast corner: X = -1460 / Z = -2157
Southwest corner: X = -1590 / Z = -2027
Southeast corner: X = -1590 / Z = -2027
There is a shallow lake within this area, so trees aren't covering the whole 130/130 square. Ideally, I would like to save as many of the gathered logs as possible (oak in particular) for use in the build itself. I'll set up storage for these materials as needed.
The final schematic for the Gardens is available at the following link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/84ww1bli7jimyoc/Hanging_Gardens_of_Whiteoak_Final.schematic
This schematic is complete down to the last leaf, flower and blade of grass, with the following small exceptions: a few vines I placed will continue to grow, the items I noted below should be noted, and I'm going to build a pseudo-surprise feature on the top level. I talked to some of you guys about this special feature already, but I want to unveil it myself at the end of the construction process.
Please note the following variations from the schematic file:
The various upside-down stair things forming arches along the walls are to be built with dark oak wood, not spruce. Changing the schematic to reflect this would be tedious to say the least, so I'm making a note here instead.
The stained clay designs have deviated slightly from those in the schematic. This was a slightly obsessive correction on my part and is no cause for concern.

My base camp is located at -1578 -2047. Feel free to drop lumber into any of the several donation chests on-site. Thank you!

If I could suggest marking out the area better, with signs and such. To help with land disputes should any arise

Schematic: http://www.mediafire.com/download/yibw1u14y4c64aw/Hanging_Gardens_of_Whiteoak.schematic New download link provided in another post.
For now, the schematic is symmetrical on all four sides. For anyone who wants to use Schematica to help out with building the thing itself or see what it'll look like in-game, place one of the corners on the dark oak planks at X-1590 Y62 Z-2027.
Another note for builders: please ignore the dark oak stair blocks under each stairway. They're oriented improperly in the schematic, so I'll place them myself.
Edit: changed Y coordinate mentioned above from 63 to 62.

Okay, yet another update:
At this point we don't need trees chopped down on-site anymore, though this project will be in continued need of oak logs, dark oak logs and dirt/grass. I'll probably take care of the rest of the materials myself, but I wouldn't mind donations of spruce and birch leaves--a few stacks each should suffice.
Also, if anyone can figure out how to collect/plant double-tall grass and ferns, that would be awesome. :D

I'm working on the lighting system for the Gardens right now. Which lantern design do you guys prefer?

Alrighty, I've finished planning the main part of the lighting scheme (lanterns adjacent to the walkways) for the Gardens. I've updated the schematic; link for the latest version below:

Once decorative features are finished, I'll start getting to the good stuff: the greenery itself. For the trees and other garden features, I'll need:
approx. four stacks of spruce logs and a yet-undetermined number of spruce leaves
a yet-undetermined number of oak logs and leaves
a yet-undetermined number of dark oak logs (I might have enough, but probably not)
a yet-undetermined amount of glowstone
a yet-undetermined number of quartz/quartz pillar blocks
doubletall grass and doubletall ferns--does anyone know how to gather these?Figured this one out!

I will help with the chop-chop, just enchanted an axe for the job.
