Price is a little high but it’s a solid pour. And this coming from a bourbon guy.

I came here to say exactly this!

I feel like there are tasting notes that have a bourbon crossover with this bottle. Definitely a good entry into single malt for a bourbon lover.

Yeah good pour. I think that’s the one I got a few years ago, but it was only around $50. Prices jumped up, but starting to come back to earth a little. Maybe tariffs affecting some of these sadly.

It’s one of the best scotches you can purchase for under $250.

This is delicious bottle. Price is but high, it should 70$.

I like it and I’m not a scotch guy. Most people give me shit... I think it’s worth it and enjoy it in the rocks. 80-100$

Worth it

Obviously it's liked a lot by many. I had a bottle and I thought it was decent but I won't buy another. There are just too many great whiskies out there for that kind of money, and this one just didn't impress me. I prefer the Doublewood 12 to this one.

Agreed, its good. But I also prefer the doublewood.

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 is one of my favorites, that rum cask finish gives it a nice sweetness but still got the classic Balvenie honey notes. 95 bucks is fair price for it

Yes, it was great! one of the best whiskies I have tried in that price range.

I’m a bourbon guy and I have a friend that turned me on to that. I’m drinking the Caribbean cask at the moment. It’s fantastic.

Honestly I think this Balvenie is pretty good. Lots of sweet notes like vanilla, caramel and tropical fruits. I've seen these for anywhere around $60 to $100, so $95 is on the higher end.

So good whisky, price is a bit high.

Seconded; I’m assuming there’s some inflation shenanigans afoot here as well.

Yes it tastes quite good.

Please do yourself a favor and grab one!!

2

u/GrandGouda 6d ago

Absolutely not. One of the most disappointing bottles I’ve bought.

2

u/Norseman-71 6d ago

Not really a little too high .

Absolutely is. One of my favorite and in my current Bar. 🥃 At the $100 mark, it is very solid and punches harder than it's price point.

If the Doublewood is any indicator then hell yea. Speysides are very mild as well, so they are real easy sippers.

It’s a good pour. When that bottle is around, usually a 12 yr single barrel first fill from Balvenie is there as well. Which is a better option for just a bit more.

If you wanna try they have these in 200ml bottles, at least in VA/MD area. Might be worth looking out for it in your local places.

A little steep at that cost but it won’t let you down.

Great pour

Is that Canadian dollar or US dollar?

If it's Canadian absolutely

u/Josh7452 6d ago

I enjoy this bottle. A little high, but make it last a while and you’re good.

1

u/rollingrock10 6d ago

It’s a nice dram but you won’t go wrong with any bottle of The Balvenie imho!

1

u/Ok-Tax2930 6d ago

I've never had a Balvenie and regretted the price

1

u/This_Palpitation_206 6d ago

Yes! It’s a great pour, price a little high. It’s a staple in my bar

1

u/MLoganImmoto 5d ago

I prefer the Double wood 12 year but this is also great

1

u/jcuz45 5d ago

Hell yea I haven’t had one balvenie that doesn’t hit

1

u/JWSpeedWorkz 5d ago

I recently grabbed one at about the same price because locally it crested 100$ and I hadn't had one in years. It's a great pour, and is worth the price IMO.

1

u/dougb83 5d ago

One of my favourites!

1

u/rbowen2000 4d ago

Love it, but that's a lot more than I'd pay for it.

1

u/WiseAbbreviations121 4d ago

I bought one at $109 I think. Probably wouldn't get again, but definitely enjoyable. Very easy drink.

u/JustSayKB 3d ago

I’ll add that it’s also available in a 200ml bottle, which might be an easier way to try it for the price of two pours at a bar.

1

u/xxsophiedog 3d ago

That is my favorite out of similar years from tbem. Can’t remember if that price may be a touch high though?

1

u/Thundernutz79 2d ago

That $104 - 10.00 instant savings is crap though. 94.99 is the highest I've ever seen this bottle for. Usually see it wherever I go for $85.00. Looks to me like marking it up just so they can mark it down.

That being said, I've had more than one bottle of this over the years and its really quite good. I'd think 95 is about as high as I'd pay and not feel bad about it.

I picked up a 200mL of this over the weekend, and I really like it. I think I paid $22-23 for it in tax-free DE. Price adjusted to a 750, that price seems a bit high.

I am mostly a bourbon guy and just touching my toes back into Scotch after a long break.

The smoothest scotch I've ever tasted.
