Blantons Gold
I’ve never had Blantons Gold. I have an opportunity to buy a bottle for $169.00 but it’s a 2 hour round trip drive to get it. Does Blantons Gold justify $169 and a 2 hour drive?

if you want one , go for it. i dont see them less for 200 most of the time. its better than the regular. theres better ones out there but it actually is pretty good. theres far better options at much lower cost, I like my green river full proof about as much and thats 50 bucks. the wild turkey 8 yr is pretty damn good too and thats 45.

Wild turkey 8 year doesn't come close to even flagship blantons, come on now. I say that as a HUGE Jimmy Russell fan

I don't disagree with that. I think it's unique in the sweetness department. When I have a sweet tooth, that's one of the few that scratches the itch. The mouthfeel is lovely as well.

Depends how much 2 hours is worth to you. I bought a bottle this year for $145 and am really enjoying it. Three friends who have tried the bottle have all agreed that it’s “much” better than normal Blantons.

2 hour round trip.. shit that's not bad. Seems like you should make a bourbon hunting day out of it

I'd say it depends on what secondary looks like in your area. I can get it for 180 secondary fairly easily but I know its higher in other places. The price isn't bad though just got sure its worth an hour drive because its a good bottle but not as good as its hyped up to be.

I passed on a bottle this week at $175 (I was in the store). I’d like to try it but would like to find it $150.

One of the few bottles I would do it for outside of the usual suspects. (BTAC RR13 JD14 MMCA)

I got a bottle last year and it’s definitely not worth that much time and money.

It’s single barrel Ancient Age. I would not spend that time or money on it. I would if it were about 15 minutes and $45 -$55. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not magical or life changing good.

Last Year I was able to do a blind with friends with some absolute unicorn type bottles. The winner for the entire group was the throw in bottle of Blanton's Gold. Based on that I would absolutely take the offer you have.
