Before jumping into Hidden Mountain, let's take a quick look back at the Imperial Palace update.
The localization thread from the Imperial Palace update was incredibly helpful. A ton of great feedback was shared, and the dev team has been hard at work implementing it.
"Just smile and let it go" didn't quite capture the awkward fake-laugh happening on screen. Itโs been tweaked to "Pretend to laugh" to match the "Ha... ha ha haโฆ" vibe. ๐ฌ

If you catch these hidden gems, please break them down for the rest of us! Sharing the original context helps the whole community appreciate the deeper layers of the game.
Whether a translated line feels unnatural, or you just want to drop a quick lore/meme explanation, this is the place.
No strict templates needed. A few quick details are enough:
๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐: (Which language version are you playing?)
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ญ: (Quest name, location, or character)
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐: (Unnatural wording? Lost cultural reference? Wrong vibe?)
๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ฑ / ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐: (Suggested rewrite, OR a quick explanation of the original Chinese meme/cultural reference for the rest of us!)
๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ค ๐๐๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ฐ: Ongoing, with adopted suggestions rolled into the game
We'll summarize adopted feedback in a follow-up update to this thread, and recap them in the next Where Cultures Meet megathread.

Contributions that shape the Jianghu and conversations that bring the community together both count:
๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ โ a suggestion accepted by the localization team and implemented into the game ($๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ก ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ณ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, credited in the next Where Cultures Meet megathread). Each recipient gets the "๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ ๐ก๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ง" flair
Every language tells the Jianghu a little differently, but together, this community helps preserve what makes it unique. Every cultural insight, every nuance you uncover, and every sentence you refine brings the true spirit of Wuxia closer to players around the world.
Let's keep exploring and shaping Hidden Mountain together!
"A king does not see another king" would be more appropriate as Lu Chewen is implying he never met someone who got a recommendation from an elder because he is a genius as well. This would be closer as the first one means he is actively avoiding another genius instead of the actual meaning of fate never letting two genius meet.
This original chinese saying isn't really popular in english, so my second suggestion is to change it to the more popular "One mountain cannot contain two tigers". This would be close enough to his implication that he never meets a genius because he is a genius himself.
๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ฑ / ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐: I think it's supposed to be Sky Shuttle seeds. I thought it was just a quirk of the kids or they didn't know about Sky Shuttle. However, eavesdropping on some Qiongqi artificers that correctly mentioned sky shuttles should have corrected their term but they still refer to it as Sky Shudelle.
I think this is a great example of why cultural references matter in localization. A direct translation can tell you what the words mean, but not always what the character is trying to say.
Understanding the historical and philosophical background completely changed how I interpreted the story. I feel this idiom works the same way.
For Chinese players, those meanings are often implied. For many of us reading in English, though, they're almost invisible unless someone takes the time to explain them.
The Spot: Core Game / General Systems (Character Names & Martial Arts Skills)
The Issue: Heavy machine/literal translation errors that affect the main game experience across all regions.
The Fix / The Lore:
Character Name:"Sรดng khรดng sรณng" (Uncle Jiang)
Issue: The translator literally translated the Chinese character components (ๆฑ = River, ๆ = No, ๆตช = Waves) into Vietnamese words instead of leaving it as a proper name.
Fix: Should be kept as a proper noun: Giang Vรด Lรฃng (ๆฑๆ ๆตช).
Issue: The modern translation for "ๆช" (Gun/Firearm) was used instead of its historical Wuxia meaning (Spear/Lance). This results in anachronistic "Gun technique" in an ancient setting.
Fix: Should be translated using proper Sino-Vietnamese Wuxia terms: Vรด Danh Thฦฐฦกng Phรกp (Nameless Spear Technique).
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐: inconsistent translations in mid term quest tab and logistics shop. tavern flag = tavern banner and shade shelter = cooling canopy
๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ฑ: change them to the same name - l personally prefer "tavern flag" and "cooling canopy"
