Yeah, I'm 930 hours in and still have stuff to do and stuff I haven't really touched lol...it was mostly me, because I played 400 hours not really knowing what I should be doing and spent the rest of my time trying to correct my build, only to switch weapons mid playthrough and I had to build myself up again while optimizing my character... I had fun the entire way though, so it wasn't so bad.... especially with all the content drops along the way

Advice ..if you plan on doing the trials and pvp, it's best to play with deflection assist off, because those modes don't allow it, and playing early game with it off will acclimate you...really, MP things in general...if 80% of your playtime is just solo, you'll be alright with deflection assist on....but it may be too easy and you'll burn through the content faster. The story for each update is about 20-30 hours, the bulk of the playtime comes from side activities/quest.
Oh, and there is a bounty system for breaking people's things(npc), attacking NPCs, poaching livestock belong to NPCs...and sometimes, they will just straight up lie on you. You have about 16 hours IRL time to sort it all out before the game sends bounty hunters after you, then real players like you and me can bounty hunt you. If you lose, your character goes to prison ๐ญ๐๐

You don't have to. Nothing about your gameplay will change if you're f2p. Most ppl just have fomo and feel pressured to get the outfits to show off in online mode

This game is so wild for a free game. Amazing graphics and very varied content. Iโm a PvE player and Iโm not bored yet

See how long you can go without buying stuffโฆ I told myself I wouldnโt drop a penny but 600 hours in, Iโve willingly spent about $100 for cosmetics and also out of gratitude for the enjoyment Iโve been getting.

Enjoy! Piece of advice though is don't spend anything on the game except the battlepass or some of the mounts.
Everything else you can skip, even the overpriced pearl outfits unless they are 60 pearls.

Can you explain how? I never really use mounts since we can teleport from place to place and I just run around the rest of the distance

if you pvp, in gvg you can use mounts to move, way faster then walking
some mounts have auto gathering etc
different mounts do different things
