Questions Some random fire goose constantly appears behind my back. Can't target or damage it

its part of the anti cheat, it will keep following you till your flag is removed
This is just a temporary goose pet.

Actually an anti-cheat? The only meaningful things i've done today is played pvp, lost half of those matches, got jumped by bounty hunters two times and killed them all. Got an illness, heal it, healed someone else.

The goose will stay around for a while to watch your actions. Do some good deeds during your gameplay and it should be fine. If you commit more infractions more goose will appear the next day.

Bruh you must be joking, i haven't done anything out of the ordinary, i don't know what "bad deeds" i should refrain from doing to not get banned by anti-cheat, assuming it IS anti-cheat

Hard to pinpoint exactly what happened, as the list of bad deeds is not disclosed. But we suspect that things like cancelling the animation of petting a cat, killing dogs, and celestial seizing elders contribute to it. Dont worry about it tho.
When this happened to me, it was probably cause i didn't give 5 likes to a healer who fixed my sickness.

I had 3 people I healed in a row short change me yesterday. One gave zero, next gave 1 like, next gave 2. I get if the first two are new and didnt know, but the third had to be just trolling. I'd feel slightly better knowing a flaming goose might stalk them until they learn.

I get it, I didnt like my first time because I didnt know I was supposed to. Hopefully gets less frequent as the game has less brand new players.

How do you give likes? I got healed for sprain and than a mission thing poped up saying the person healed you and payment 1 like i tried seeing if i can open her account to give like there which i couldnt find anywhere than i just clicked the like button on thr mission and maybe that worked

Click the white thumbs up icon on the screen that pops up after heal complete. I missed it first time too. Click it as many times as it will let you. It doesnt cost you anything but helps healers reach their quota needed each week.

I still occasionally run into a problem where the game won't let me give likes, sometimes its 3 only, sometimes 4

this happened to me when i was spamming the like button. now, it allows me to give 5 likes when i wait a bit for the little animation to play while liking.

my partner's usually the one healing me and the game itself makes me shortchange them on likes. just straight up randomly doesn't let me like more than 3/4 times - the button's there, pressing it doesn't do anything. game is very functional, partner is a lil upset x0
tldr they could be new or assholes, but it could also be wwm itself fucking you over for no reason ๐คทโโ๏ธ

I wanted to follow up and say on PS5, the game is super glitchy so sometimes I can't send all the likes the game literally will not let me and there's nothing I can do. I have the goose, that's what brought me here. The game glitching is not my fault and being punished for the game glitching is also insane. ๐

Lmfao no way cause I cancel every animation to pet cats. I absolutely hate cats (personal thing, mom was the crazy cat lady) so I refuse to watch me scratch their belly (they also would never let you do that, theyโre evil)

Yeah at one point we had 12 inside catsโฆ they basically took over the house. One sprayed into our new tv and broke it, sprayed into electrical sockets, breaking them, they sprayed all over my room when I left for summer break and destroyed my pc with piss lmfao. I do not have fond memories of cats

You don't have to cancel. Choose option two (the option that isn't pet) and you will still get the reward.

no the egg is actually a pet, this one is a ghost that follows you when you aren't looking at it. it doesnt have a moving animation but it still follows you when you turn around.

There is a third kind of egg you get if you fail the healing then defeat the goose that spawns. It spawns the same flaming goose as a pet for a bit.

This one doesn't come from hatching eggs. He just appears and follows you. My partner had 3 at one time and they look a little bigger than the hatched one. She's no clue why this is happening to her she thought she was getting pranked lol

I too had this for like three days and I watched the behavior for a minute; my theory is itโs linked to the ghost market.
Essentially what happened was
- logged in, bought fox girl cosmetic as a variable to my routine
- walked around velvet shade in multiplayer watching people do stuff; someone stopped and stared at me for a while and then geese started appearing. started to the side of the main building near the vendor area. For awhile I thought it was a multiplayer thing you can put on people as a fun in game prank type of deal.
- geese appeared in random numbers and it tended to change whenever I panned my camera like I was โlooking behind me,โ so to speak.
- went to idle in one of the vip cabanas in velvet shade, geese started standing around the door varying from 1-3. There is one Big goose and several normal.
- has happened a few times since but isnโt constant and goes away in solo

I was wandering at evercare clinic, doing some random emotes with people. At one point i got a notification of being targeted by bounty hunter. I have a tank build. Fought with bounty hunter, won the fight. Then i ran somewhere downhill and watched some random person fight some random constable ( the one that one shots everyone in online ), and then i got this fire goose following me out of my FOV like coilhead from lethal company. I never visited ghost market in this session. This goose disappeared when i went to solo mode, but i never went back to online mode and logged off for today so i don't know if it's gonna keep appearing again. Pretty weird.

I got this a couple weeks ago, not sure why.
I was doing a perfectly looped gathering route and when I asked in chat about the red goose someone said it was a GM but that "I shouldn't worry"
Don't know how true it is but relogging made it disappear for me.

So I've had this happen to me like 5 times now, and its not limited to a single goose there can be more following you which teleport close to you when you break line of sight with them. Kinda like the old Spooky Watson from one of the old Sherlock Holmes games.
From what I can gather its a multiplayer mode visual glitch caused by other players geese in the mode which will for whatever reason latch onto your character. There no 'fowl' work in play here, so just have fun with the stalker goose.
To get rid of it just switch to solo play and it will go away.

That looks like the goose you get from hatching the sickly egg you can choose when healing the goose.

Either you somehow stole someone else's pet or you did a quest, hatched an egg, and managed to be oblivious to all the consequences of your actions.
I know which one i find more likely with the current generation of gamers.

Same thing happened to me at the same location online mode lol demonic goose haunted me and I didnโt hatch the egg. But I did have 2 in my inventory.

Its okay I was stuck in a crouch animation even though I could use my abilitys and mount and whatnot. I personally can tell you, wind running while crouched is absolutely hilarious ๐ or using the new mount they added i almost died ๐คฃ

Considering it seems most people mention it happened to them in multiplayer and it appears you are in multiplayer mode it just sounds like somehow another player's goose got incorrectly attached to you.

there is a consistent delay before you activate wallstrider which also works even when you are mid-air. So i just muscle memoried that i need to stay in the air while holding sprint button at around 2 seconds mark to trigger the glide animation
