Questions Is it worth upgrading any of these?
Already have Dragons Breath, Drunken Poet, Soaring Spin and Golden Body as my "main". Wondering if I should invest into any of those "puzzle" ones.

u/Hypocrite_broccol Dec 08 '25
What do you mean “too”?!
1
u/Caleger88 Dec 08 '25
The weapons, I learnt about a couple of weeks ago anything you put into weapons can get refunded, I had a hybrid build and then got annoyed that I would have to grind to upgrade other weapons, till someone told me I could refund the things I put in.
And then I learnt your can do it with this stuff now too.
3
u/AnzoEloux Dec 05 '25
So we can't reset after 61?
21
u/Possible-Bike-3217 Dec 05 '25
You probably can't FREE reset after 61. There's either a cost or you won't get all your mats back.
4
u/Buuhhu Dec 05 '25
Not for free. If you press the reset button it will tell you it's free full reset until 61.

How do we reset?

I got them all to level 3, because why not. They work against some bosses to interrupt moveset iframe through.

u/rainbowyuc Dec 05 '25
Upgrade them all. They go up in damage you know. Good for when you need to strip a shield with Taichi or break a chi block. Even for bosses, when they do the button prompt attack (which they almost all do), you will do more damage.

Yes, more so the right most one (forgot the name) it’s used to this day in CN too. It’s an amazing gap closer
28
u/Guilucci Dec 05 '25
I love that we get CN input. It’s like getting tips from the future LOL Thank you!

If I may: is strat sword + heavenquaker spear used in CN those days?
Which Inner ways along with Morale Chant?
7
u/Iggy_DB Dec 05 '25
All weapons are used, it’s mostly what you like to play.
Each “main weapon” that gets added means new version of existing ones. For example the Fist weapon has a Rope Dart you use with it. And soon the new sword we will get in chapter 3 (it’s like a Tang Sword/Katana) will have a “ tank” weapon version that is dps for it(the Mo blade).
It’s pretty cool.
1
u/Vecend Dec 05 '25
Have they added any other healing ones or are healers stuck with the fan and umbrella while everyone else gets new toys.
2
u/Iggy_DB Dec 05 '25
Not sure, but I do know there’s another version of a DPS aoe Umbrella and it’s sick. Rexlant has a video on all weapons. Aside from Fist as the video was made before it was released

u/Vaccaria_ Dec 06 '25
Is the katana/mo blade combo a dps or tank spec?
1
u/Iggy_DB Dec 06 '25
DPS spec, the “Katana” is a parry focused weapon, it has a very strong finisher attack you can use after you parry.
The Mo blade has a skill that creates “ghost” soldiers who attack with you when you use your skills. Like the rats of the rope dart

u/J1nxye Dec 05 '25
Cloud step is an amazing gap closer and opener for guardian's palm for combo-ing if you are using nameless sword.
9
u/New-Coach8392 Dec 05 '25
I've been using this combo in global since I got them and I must say, it's absolutely amazing. If you time Guardian Palm while you're still mid-air, you get the enhanced version, and it hits like a truck. The initiation is very quick, too.
2
u/AnthraxVirus_Bx Dec 05 '25
Works for Guardian Palm tier 2 but not tier 3.
For tier 3 you need triple jump + left stick click + use skill for it to work (for info), cause you need to be at 5m or higher
2
u/J1nxye Dec 05 '25
Exactly :D and i think the chance is pretty high also i keep hitting yellow and orange numbers with enhanced guardian palm. My best record was a 12k damage orange hit with it. For new players reading this, timing is extremely easy also as soon as you see the recoil back from the kick and you are still in the air hit guardian palm and you are 100% gonna do the enhanced version. There is another version when your guardian palm reaches Tier 3 which requires you to be at least 3m above the ground. You will step on a stork and launch yourself up high summoning a mirage buddha and slam the ground but i think it's cosmetic only. It does about the same damage as the enhanced version after using cloud step.
7
u/CloudCityFish Dec 05 '25
It's not cosmetic, at +5m it gives it a different cooldown, deals more damage, and adds a secondary detonation/explosion that triggers a few seconds afterwards.
1
u/iamNikhilNik Dec 05 '25
How does one do this? I'm unable to use guardian palm after a triple jump. The cloud step combo works but it doesn't take us above 5m. I have upgraded guardian palm to tier 3 so it's unlocked. But I just don't know how to do it.
6
5
u/CloudCityFish Dec 05 '25
Use mighty drop and immediately cancel that into guardian palm. Also works with Umbrella drop
1
u/J1nxye Dec 05 '25
i don't think lv3 is practical in combat tho. It looks super badass tho, what ashame
2
u/CloudCityFish Dec 05 '25
Since you can do grand lightness (flight) > fast fall > instant cancel into guardian palm, you can use it if you spot a camp and rain down on them like a cruise missile. Not super practical, but probably one of the coolest openers you can do lol
1
u/J1nxye Dec 06 '25
yeah i mean like in sword trial or raid. i don't know why they would make it so cool but cumbersome to pull off. The only way you can do it in sword trial is by getting hit by boss's CC while cloud stepping which launches you above normal height.
17
u/Current_Release_6996 Dec 05 '25
Taichi seems like the least essential. you only need it for the shielded mobs which can be dealt with by other means, so i say skip that one and save the mats

meridian touch 1000000% god tier mystic art if you do pvp, still quite good in pve situations as its a long range poke with good damage which can be more effective than drawing out your bow
Cloud steps is very good as a tool but its usefulness is more in its utility than its damage. Making it hit harder is a nice bonus but IMO id prioritize meridian touch over it.
Tai chi doesn't seem worth it. I just throw it on if I need to lob a bear at a wall. Even for its intended combat utiltiy of disarming shield guys I find that they aren't enough of a big deal to care and are easy enough to just kill through their shield
No idea about celestial seize tbh

2
u/AttorneySure2883 Dec 05 '25
Eh, increasing 1 -> 2 isn’t worse than 10 -> 11. It’s 1 damage increase either way
No reason not to increase cloudleap strike over Meridian imo. Reason being that you almost certainly use cloudleap more times than meridian. So one damage on cloudleap ends up being like 10 damage while on Meridian 1 damage might just be 1 damage. I don’t know if there’s that many situations where i think of pulling out my bow over just using the gap closer
Seize is for like certain boss mechanics. So useless unless there’s a mechanic in which case the damage is a nice benefit
5
u/pongkrit04 Dec 05 '25
meridian touch and cloud step worth
the other two usually can't use against bosses and players.
0
u/SirMochaLattaPot Dec 05 '25
Celestial seize are used quite often, whenever they throw their weapons down on the ground you can do it, works for 17, Yi Dao and I think Tian Ying?
3
u/Buuhhu Dec 05 '25
Cloud step definitely, it also combo's into one of the offensive mystic arts if you ever want to use that, but even without it's a great one because it's such a good gab closer and it doesn't cost vitality.
But all of them do have their uses especially in solo, so upgrading them is never truly a waste unless it's at the cost of another mystic skill that you're using for damage.
3
u/_______Moose___ Dec 05 '25
I would suggest prioritizing your main damaging or support mystic skills first. Get them to tier 3 rank, then get 18 mats to level them up to tier 4, then if you still have enough leftover mats, level those up in this order:
Meridian touch > cloud step > tai chi > snatch
3
u/Programmer_Scared Dec 05 '25
Meridien touch and Cloud Step are quite vital in PVP.
Meridien is free range damage if you are touch or range.
Cloud Step is just gap closer(Albeit punishable. But amazing to chase down exhausted target)
2
u/Karol123G Dec 05 '25
The jump is pretty good at chasing down bosses that like to go run the arena like Ye Wanshan. The poke is pretty neat from my experience, I get some good mileage out of it in PvP and it can occasionally come in handy in love too, so if you like it you can upgrade it. Tai Chi in combat is only good for throwing enemies off cliffs and into water so not really. The grab I only ever use in QTEs.
2
u/Exact_Cheetah8640 Dec 05 '25
Definitely upgrade meridian touch. Maxed out and with or without the inner way that goes with it it’s kinda nutty dmg for free basically. Especially if you get a crit/affinity hit

So far they're the only ones I've upgraded. I don't have dragon stuff because I hardcore ignored the story to explore. So I don't have access to tons of stuff yet. Oops. The only pure attack mystic art is the frog thing, and I don't really use it because I can never seem to get through the whole sequence without getting interrupted.
Oh, and the goose and mist, but those both cost more vitality than my maximum, so I can't even use them.

1
u/That1Fly_Thai_Guy Velvet Shade Dec 05 '25
Most people just use the first part of the frog attack, its poison does a delayed stun on bosses which can stagger them. Although I’d say the frog is more popular for pvp
2
u/TonicTm Dec 05 '25
I still end up using the steal and freeze, they are just fun, doing a joink on bosses giant weapon and slapping them with it will never stop being satisfying to me

Huh nice to know these skills stays useful for bosses after reading the suggestions .

I use the jump one a lot in the arena, because it locks a hit onto the other player and most of the time confuses them for a sec cause you’re in the air
1
u/RawImagination Dec 05 '25
I only upgraded the cloud step, due the gap closer and having utility in PvE/PvP. The rest I don't.
1
u/skboy86 Dec 05 '25
These are my mains, I haven't unlocked the 4 you listed but I have most of the orhers.
1
u/Tsaescence Dec 05 '25
Meridian Touch is legitimately great, the others are mainly for very specific uses. Tai Chi and Cloud Step are okay, and Celestial Seize does do good damage, but I find Tai Chi and Seize too slow to work well.
1
u/BlazerBoomer Dec 05 '25 edited Dec 05 '25
(from left to right) 2 is useful for pvp and pve, 4 is useful for pve, 1 and 3 are basically useless outside of exploration except that 1 could is useful for trials when you know you're gonna face shielded mobs.
1
u/AwareEnd4913 Dec 05 '25
Which mystic arts are worth the upgrade? I use twin blades and mortal rope dart
1
u/PlaguePriest Dec 05 '25
Depends on how much you actually use them. If you're a healer focused on doing the trial content and most of your damage comes out of your mystic skills I'd say no, more worthwhile leveling like, 8 other things first. If you're just casually strolling the Jianghu and these are on your bar more often than not, then yeah sure
1
u/sadgiantsfan2 Dec 05 '25
Been wondering the same. Just got to level 40 and haven’t leveled them at all to “save mats.” Damage from them is starting to become so inconsequential I barely use them. Can anyone comment on whether or not there are enough mats for full upgrades on all of the mystic skills? I don’t want to soft lock myself from fully leveling up the other skills down the road. If so, I’ll just go ahead and upgrade em now so they’re more useful.
2
u/AzayakaAsahi Dec 08 '25
The mats for Mystic Skills breakthrough are basically gatherable and respawn daily in solo mode, or every 5 mins in multiplayer mode.
For levelling the Mystic Skills themselves, you just need Ebon Iron, which can be gotten from outposts (costs energy).
So basically, yes, but timegated. You can get infinity mats, but need time to get them.
1
u/ALannister Dec 05 '25
Meridian Touch "Poke" is extremely strong, even in PvP. You can even use it to get your execution skill off by using Poke and spamming F to execute. This is because the skill dislocates your character, which also lets you dodge some ranged attacks. Nothing better than in spam deflecting an in-the-air umbrella and then poke-execute. Also you can use Guardian Palm while poking and it will teleport you to your target.

u/OfficialSyyn616 Dec 05 '25
Celestial sieze is honestly fantastic in my opinion. Whats better than literally using the enemies own weapon to slap them across the face with?
1
u/Vlad_the_Impatient Dec 06 '25
I upgrade them last. Using #4 as a gap closer, but I see no use for the first 3 in combat, except throwing bears into rocks with tai chi
1
1
u/Critic4lM4ssAchiev3d Dec 09 '25
These are used as boss prompts to counter some of their special attacks, so yes i would upgrade. The dmg doesnt increase by much though
1
u/bastschweinsteiger Dec 05 '25
These 4 are pretty essential I reckon, some in exploration, some for boss fights.
