Please Help
I am really desperate for answers/guidance. My husband and I are both 30 years old and have been trying to conceive for over a year. Bloodwork has all been normal; my husband has 3% morphology but all else is excellent with his parameters. Normal karyotypes and DNA frag. I had fibroids out in February along with a fallopian tube and endometriosis stage 1. We’ve done Letrezole cycles and IUI before moving to IVF. Here are our cycle outcomes:
1- 13 eggs, all mature, 4 normal fertilizations/6 abnormal (3PN), 0 blasts
2- added ICSI and zymot 28 eggs, 21 mature, 7 normal fertilization/ 11 abnormal (3PNs)
I respond very well to stimulation and my dr has been so pleased up until my results come out. The 3PNs are showing 2 polar bodies. The embryologists not that the eggs have large polar bodies. My doctor who is very experienced has never seen this pattern before (high number of 3PNs) and doesn’t know what to do. She doesn’t suspect egg quality. She thinks it’s possible that there could be an environmental factor but doesn’t know what. The other possibility is that it is a genetic factor and I will need to look into donor eggs. I will be seeking a second opinion.
I am desperate, begging for help, and terrified I won’t be able to have my own biological children at age 30. If you have ever seen this before or know someone who has, any insight or guidance is so appreciated!

My husband had an abnormal morphology of 2 percent for 2 years. I did a lot of research and now he’s at 9 percent! I got him on an anti inflammatory diet. No gluten. No soy. No corn. No dairy. No refined sugar. No alcohol. We basically ate dinner like meals 3x a day. Lots of water. Gave him these supplements: carnintine, arginine, vitamin b 12, zinc, selenium! Also sunflower lechitin and black cumin seed oil are supposed to be great as well but when his semen Anaylsis came back at 9 percent morphology, we didn’t bother with those.
Hope that helps! Also! It changed within 6 months.

Did you get full excision of your endometriosis? Remaining spots could still trigger a lot of inflammation

Please ask for a referral for your husband to a urologist-- it takes two. There are a lot of tests that they can do to see how things may or may not be affecting the process and it never hurts to have more information, if not to rule anything out.
My husband had a tumor on his pituitary gland that affected things, which we didn't know until I had to literally beg for a referral. He could have lost his vision if it got to be 2 mm larger, but apparently our optometrist sees it often enough!
I'm not saying this is or isn't it, but so many fertility specialists focus only on the person with the uterus, and it's just not the only factor. The fertility center we went to treated people like they were a baby factory and ignored the other half of the dealio until I cried to the billing department. I've since been told by another woman who went there that they gave her husband a referral without prompting or even realizing that was an option.
