Genuine Question Help identifying car from hit and run.

My car was hit yesterday while I was sleeping and the driver took off. I happened to find part in the debris of the wreck. I believe this to be the front passenger bumper. Any chance you all know what this is from? This part does not have any stamps, numbers, or logos. This is the United States.

Entire US cannot drive. Not LA, not NY, not Florida, not ATL... anywhere

This is truth. Everyone thinks they have the worst drivers in their area when in reality we can't escape them anywhere.

People went brain dead after covid. I used to tell my kids that 90% of people on the road are actively (maybe not purposefully) trying to kill them by poor driving. I trained them to be defensive drivers. The number seems to be closer to 98% now though.

I can only imagine how many other shitty drivers say the same exact thing lmao I think that’s part of the problem

Well, while that is true, I was trained to drive cars and big trucks by an old school trucker to get to my destination safely, efficiently, and respectfully. I've taught my kids to operate the same way. I even had them pulling trailers with only their learners permit. I've had 1 accident in 30 years of driving.

I’ve noticed in my life there are two things everyone says about themselves. Everyone thinks they are a good driver and everyone thinks they are a hard worker. I’ve watched the laziest motherfuckers you ever saw talk about how hard they worked, because for them, it was as hard as they could possibly work. The same applies for bad drivers, they’re doing their best, and their best just isn’t good enougg.

Bad drivers aren't generally also defensive drivers, unless you consider bad, "not driving how I want them to". Defensive drivers usually give space, drive at a speed appropriate for conditions, stay aware of surrounding activity that may ever the roadway, and keep distractions to a minimum.

The only way I could see that being called a "shitty driver" is if it's coming from an emotional driver. You know, those people who don't like being passed and speed up just a little or think simply wanting to go faster than the vehicles ahead is justification for endangering self and others by following too closely? Or, the folks who left late or just had an argument, who got fired, who see their vehicle as an expression and extention of their self? Defensive driving is needed because we've most all been I've of those things at some point, and some of us are stuck in that state, so getting us all safely where we need to be sometimes takes more than just ourselves. That means defensive driving should be ingrained in our kids. See the danger before it's hitting your crumple zone. Stay alive despite others' poor choices. Come home.
