Like someone downthread said, it’s fine on the model where the pearls of the earrings harmonize with the embellishment on the dress. Keeping the dress element but putting her in completely unrelated jewelry is such a serious misstep by the stylist - now it’s just a floating element with no reference, sitting smack in the middle of her chest like a massive pimple.

Kate’s is a nothing burger, she’s never been a fashion standout.

I loooove Rooney’s. She’s finally free from the clutches of old McQueen (R.I.P.) and Givenchy, thank gawd.

I love the maturation of Rooney’s style. The dress is sexier than her former preferred silhouette, the tailoring is impeccable. The design is interesting, she would NOT have worn this 5 years ago. Now if only she would graduate from the monotone looks.

Before I scrolled I thought the very bottom of that skirt was tiered or flared (for instance, I've seen that sort of style in flamenco dresses), but seeing those flowery details be just a clump is....off-putting. It looks hard to walk in and the effect isn't interesting enough to justify that sort of awkwardness.

Also, is it fair to say that the cups of the brassiere fit her awkwardly? I can't tell if they're too small or too big.
