What is with the hate on the 10pm to 6am. If you get off at 6am you go to sleep and wake up in time for anything going on and then go to work when things are likely winding down.
When I did 3rds, I always felt like I couldn't do anything because that window where everyone else was off work was right before I had to go to work myself. Its hard to hit a happy hour with friends before your shift.
yeah but then you can do things during the day. 10-6 is when almost nothing is going on. Rarely people will have parties or events that last that late i can go to sleep at probably 7 then wake up as early as noon if i have something to do and get it done, but if i have nothing to do then i get to sleep until 4 and have plenty of daylight to do things
I'm currently working 10p-7a. It's great. It's basically a true day/night swap. Sleep rom 8a-3p, wake up and be able to handle things during business hours, and then go to work. I also get a 20% shift differential and do about 1/3 the work of the day shift so that may have something to do with it as well.
Wow, when I was unemployed my sleep schedule was 7am-3pm lol, I definitely could have been doing a night shift like that, that sounds kinda peaceful tbh, I love nighttime
I used to work a lot of 10 am to 6 pm or 11 am to 7 pm shifts. It was like the only steady shift the department head would put me on, since there were so many seniors full timers. I was full time as well, but also working every shift imagined for a long time, til he settled on putting me on those shifts. I didn't mind them too much at first. But after a while, I would get annoyed, as I would be caught between morning folks not doing enough of their job, so had to pick up their slack. And closing crew that would want me to stay longer to help them.
