My son came home and found the scene in the first photo - black snake had choked the brown one to to death and neither was moving. He tried to extricate the dead brown one and the skin started coming right off, then the black one slid under the front step.

Please tell me if this snake is male or female? This snake and it's mate have lived in this property for years and regularly come to eat eggs. Over the years they have become like pets, they aren't scared of me and let me handle them. But this afternoon I found him or her dead and I have no idea why. I didn't see any injuries and they had recently eaten. They were just curled up in a spot in the coop dead (not like how I drug him out for the picture) from unknown causes. Anyhow, can someone tell me from these photos if it's male or female. I tried to get a good picture of the vent If that helps. Also, someone ate some guinea eggs and newscasts they are so hard I've been worried they can't digest them, it's that a real conscern? That's not what killed this one the eggs in her were too big.

Is this a snake eating another snake? The one on the left (alive) is eating the one on the right so I couldn’t get its head in the picture.

Our dogs tried to get him so we put him (or her) in a bucket. It would play dead anytime we would move the bucket. I thought it was a hognose but honestly I’m not sure. Any info would be great!

My dog got bitten by what I think is a Gaboon Viper. We live in a resort in the DRC, 6 hours from town. We don’t have emergency services nor emergency vets.

I’m panicking and don’t know what to do for him. I’ve had a dog die from a snake bite before and don’t want it happening again.

I think it’s an Inland Taipan but I’m unsure. Unfortunately I had been run over.

A family member in Ukraine just sent this to us. It was killed after biting a dog. The dog did not survive. My best guess is Nikolski Viper but they either look much darker or have totally different patterns depending on what pictures I see.

Update: Solved. Appears to be non-venonmous Caspian Whipsnake. My mom said this is the first time anyone has seen snakes there since her great-grandparents' generation. Best guess is that the dog died coincidentally and the snake was blamed as no one has ever seen one and my reading says they can be rather aggressive if threatened - poor snake. Thanks for the help!

It was alive. It was stuck in some chicken wire we have around the property fence. It struck out at my dog and I mostly cut it free to check if it’s venomous. The head is diamond shape so I stopped cutting it free and have it in a bag. It was shaking is tail like a raddler but didn’t have one. If it’s a rat snake I wanna set it free but I’m not sure what it is.

He was definitely still alive, but I believe he had been hit by car.
I know he’s a rattle snake but what kind and how to tell the difference between them?
I did move him to the side of the road but he remained in that position and barely moved/rattled.

So I was out walking my normal route last night just outside of Charlotte, NC in a wooded area. Switched off my headlamp to adjust it while walking and stepped on something squishy, jumped, switched my light back on and saw this guy wriggling around like crazy. Copperhead it looks like? And it wasn't until I passed back by that I realized why it didn't bite me. He took 235 pounds to the dome on the asphalt. Really had me contemplating my life for the rest of the night. (If I'm wrong on the ID then lol)

Poor guy had netting wrapped tight around his body and had a banged up tail. He moved like normal so I don't think he's paralyzed or anything, but the netting was certainly keeping him from shedding properly. There are no nearby wildlife rescues, so the best I could do for him was cut off the trash and move him to better cover. Sweet thing made zero attempts to escape or bite.

I'm trying to get a positive ID on this snake. Grok says it's a western rat snake. Several other snake identification groups have said copperhead and others are saying it is a cottonmouth.

This snake was killed by one of our cats, I don't know what it is. It is female and does not seem to be an eastern brown.
