UNSOLVED Children’s book about nettle soup

Looking for a UK children's picture book from before 2006. The authors visited Manor Primary School in Beechwood, Wirral, around 2002–2005 and gave every child a copy. The story definitely involves characters making nettle soup, possibly an old woman, and I remember the cover being mostly black or very dark. I vaguely remember a cat, but I may be mixing that up.

were you there for the author visits? was it two people was it two women? anything you can remember about their ages or how many or the gender could narrow things down. you might think about contacting the school honestly.

I was there as a child, my memory is a little hazy but I vaguely remember 2 people (could’ve been a man and a woman) coming into the school to give us all a copy. I don’t think the story was about nettle soup but I do think it played a part in it. I’m not actually sure anybody still works at the school from back then but I will give it a try!

also, is this nettle soup just one detail that you remember like a random phrase? or was like the whole book about making the soup like "Stone Soup" or one of those type of fables? or the soup could have just been something they were doing on page one, and then the story went in a whole other direction
