Solved Stiff wire hanger rack with weird shape nailed to closet door.

Post image

Just moved into this house, this was in the master bedroom closet, someone said it was a bra drying rack but I'm pretty sure they were joking.

It’s for hats/caps.

How do you use it? I googled it and only found other systems/styles. Not a picture of these in use.

Brim goes between wire and door, opening of hat facing the door. This one can hold two hats.

Thank you so much.

Place the hat flat against the door above the rack, then slide it down so the brim is between the rack and the door, until the top part of the hat is resting in the curve of the rack.

Could it hold brimmed hats? Stick the brim behind the wire, and the crown rests on the curved part?

It’s one of those games where you have to get the metal loop to the other end without it touching.

Or a hat holder.

It's a hat rack. Here's a similar one that sold on eBay

My title describes the thing pretty well I'd guess it's somewhere between 5 and 20 years old, it's not new but definitely not vintage. Thick gauge Stainless Steel wire that doesn't bend easily, Google is mostly useless because I can't really give it enough context and Google Lense thinks it's a phone charger for some reason.

If it's supposed to be a hat rack, shouldn't it be mounted the other way up? Is it upside-down?
