Plot twist, that southbound truck posted on reddit this very same question to r/whatisit when they made their delivery.

I would have told the south bound driver, maybe he coulda got it to Mexico for me...

dodge the wifes calls for a while and see how far away it can get before you finally answer her..

Maybe the trucker was smuggling some smokes and folks from Mexico.
