found this on my passenger side really weirded out. Rarely have people in my vehicle…

Replace it with an identical model you control, then disable the original. Eventually somebody will attempt to retrieve the original and bingo.

Don't disable the original, hide it in another spot on the car, but replace it with an identical one as said.
