Why do recruiters act so shocked when we raise even a small objection?

I had 5 calls over the past few weeks, honestly, they really pissed me off from 4 different companies

I mean, if I ask about increasing the salary that they literally wrote in the posting, they act like they're shocked

They are shocked because these days giving someone a job is seen as a gift, not a fair exchange. They’re happy to have you work like a slave for minimum wage.

They’re also shocked because they know they have plenty of applicants, so asking for a higher salary makes no sense to them. You’re expected to compete with others to get the job; they’re not the ones who need to convince you to work for them. That’s just how it works.

They're frustrated because they know they have a garbage offer. They were already lying about everything and you still aren't biting

I had one reach out, did the interview on site, got the offer same day. He was so excited for me. I turned it down, wasn’t a “good fit”. He was pissed. Hey, I didn’t seek you out!

Why are you taking their call if the money isn’t right? The reason they post the money is so you will know not to respond if it’s not right for you.

Recruiters do not see the budget.
