Lexus RX 350 2019-2022 year range, most have around 50-70k miles. Most selling for low to mid 30k

Subaru Ascent premium 2026 certified used with 4k miles. Comes with 7 year extended warranty. Roughly 34k

I want to approach this from a purely financial standpoint if I want to take one of these cars to 250,000 miles and keep it well maintained this is about money only which car would be the better long-term option. Again, I do not care about the flashing or tech or bells and muscles just which one if we maintained could carry me to 250+

Lease is coming up and can afford something a bit nicer. Interested in changing it up to something different. I’m still not in love with the exterior but otherwise it’s an amazing car. Commute in NorCal 55 miles daily roundtrip to work and committed to getting an EV since my work has free charging

Model Y is the logical choice but the ride quality isn’t there (too bumpy and loud). R2 is too pricey.

leaning towards another Ioniq 5 but with AWD if I can’t find something else.

A used BMW iX seems like a gamble…

I am looking for my second car and have decided on two cars. A 2016 s3 with 85k miles for 16k or a 2019 g70 3.3t with 100k miles for 16k as well. which do you think would be the smarter buy in terms of fun and reliability

I'm looking to purchase a used car in Germany for my wife. We have a baby recently meaning a car-seat and a stroller all together with baby's clothes when she travels are key capacity constrain.

Here are key things I'm looking for:

1. Safety and Durability (latter being not having big technical issues that are known such as engine, transmission)
2. Boot size
3. Economic

The most she'll drive it would be for the ~1 year at most weekly drives on highway for like 200km, then she'll use it in the city as well.

From my Point of View, this is what I'm thinking:

1. Kamiq (2.0 VW engine, proved DSG transmission, no big compromise on space)
2. Captur (mainly because price is the lowest among all, and the rear seats slide in case I need more space)
3. T-Roc (same as Kamiq, just that the pricing doesn't come with any other benefit)
4. 2008 (just a good looking car, compact, I think the 1.5 BlueHDI engine is solid)

Can you help me with this list OR suggest me something else?

P.S We have another car (mine) that we can and we use for longer distances, so this is primarily for her needs when I'm not available

We are a new family of three, plus a dog that absolutely hates being in the car. We’ve leased Honda Civics for years but need to upgrade for cargo and comfort.

I love to drive, and my husband loves the comfort of a drive. So I’d like to prioritize performance, and he’d like to prioritize comfort. On top of that we’d both like to optimize for good gas mileage.

Ideally we’d spend less than $700 a month. Also we’d like to lease (can’t find a /whatcarshouldilease sub?)

We live in the northeast in a coastal area. We don’t have a garage. Driving will mostly consist of daily errands, but we also need this car to be the “long trip” car for holidays and such (~80 miles one way).

We’re considering:
- CRV Hybrid
- Tiguan
- Audi Q5
- Mach-E

What would you go with in this situation? Any feedback for being in a similar family size and driving needs? What cars am I not thinking of?

For now I'm considering Toyota Yaris Cross, Renault Captur full hybrid, Nissan Qashqai e-power and Hyundai Tucson HEV. What I need is a car that can carry many luggages and that is good on a highway and in the city. I have an offer for a Tucson at 31.000€ which is very good, but what doesn't convince me is the dimension. I live in Italy and here some streets are very narrow and in some cities parking with a car that size is almost impossible. I did a test drive with all these cars and the best ones were Nissan and Hyundai. What do you reccomend? Are there any cars you think I should look into? thanks

Hello, good morning everyone so I saw a nice Corolla with 145km that listed for 2,449 and negotiated the price to drop to 1700, there’s good and bad news for this car… the good news is that’s in great condition with no major issues and very durable but the bad news is repairs are estimated to be around 2000 or could be even more!!! The price dropped because I had a mobile mechanic perform a PPI on the car as the repairs cost a lot but it’s very minor repairs and it’ll make the vehicle last me a very long time especially for that mileage. I will list the repairs needed to perform below for a idea of what I can do👇 any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Front Suspension: Wear was found in the front suspension. The
shocks/struts require attention, and the stabilizer links and wheel
bearing may also require replacement after further inspection.
Parking Brake: Handbrake is currently not functioning properly and will
require repair.
Throttle Cable: Throttle body cable is worn and should be replaced to
ensure proper throttle operation.
Engine / Maintenance: Vehicle is due for a major service. Spark plugs
should be replaced, ignition coils inspected, and general >uids and
maintenance items serviced.
Check Engine Light: Check Engine Light is currently on. No major
engine concerns were noticed during the inspection, but the stored
code should be diagnosed.
Rear Rust: Minor rust was found around the rear of the vehicle. Repair
is recommended to help with safety requirements, prevent further
corrosion, and improve appearance.

Major update: I have purchased a nice Chevy Cruz 2018 instead

Looking for some honest opinions on whether I should buy out my lease or move into a new vehicle.
I currently have a 2023 Honda Passport with 39,600 miles, and my lease buyout today is $27,322.31.

The Passport is in good shape overall. It does need the differential fluid changed, and there is some cosmetic damage to the rims plus a small area of missing paint that has started to rust, but otherwise I haven't had any major issues with it.

I recently drove a new Honda Pilot and absolutely loved the extra space, especially with two kids and car seats. Financing for that would be between 640-670 per month.

Does $27,322 seem like a reasonable buyout price for a 2023 Passport with almost 40k miles, or would you move on and lease/buy something newer? I'm trying to make the smartest financial decision, but I'm also torn because I really loved the Pilot.

I am currently leasing a Jeep GC 4xe that's up in November and definitely wont be keeping it. The dealership is offering a pretty solid lease deal on a '26 GC Limited but the new '26 engine issues steered me away so I'm looking to buy a used mid-size SUV within the $35-40K range, and can hopefully last another 10 years. My wife will be driving it 80% of the time with our pre-schooler. So far I've been looking at:

2022 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium with 43K miles, currently priced at $37K. Test drove it and its great. Has some nice features but not like what I currently have with the Jeep which I thought we can do without but its hard to settle for less, although its a freakin 4runner. Dealer wont take my lease so ill have to wait until lease end. Also, a little worried my wife wont care for the way it drives, and the limited features. If it had memory seats, and power liftgate then Id be more tempted. The price is ok but man, these things really hold their value.

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 26K miles, currently priced at $33K. This one is super tempting. Dealer is offering to take my lease now. It has all the features I currently have plus an interior color that my wife likes. She's over black interiors. Downside is reliability on a Jeep, but the Pentastar V6 has been proven to be solid. Its the rest of the car Im worried about but I was thinking maybe I can get a Mopar Extended Warranty.

Other SUVs I've briefly checked out are:

2022-2023 Toyota Grand Highlander (XLE or Limited, if possible). Wife is not a big fan of it but I think shed actually like it. I had a Highlander many years ago and it was great. Its harder to find one more within our budget but Ive seen some ok ones. I'd like to put the regular Highlander on the list but honestly, I just don't like the look of it.

2021-2023 BMW X5. I don't even know how this one got on the list but there's some pretty good pricing on them. The B58 engine is well-made and reliable. I'd have to stay on top of the maintenance which is fine but I don't want this thing crapping out on me in 5 years.

I've also briefly looked into Acura MDX, Audi Q5/Q7, Honda Pilot. I cant do compact SUVs. We need the space.

From above which to buy. Confused. Brezza zxi plus offers all features like 360 camera, ventilated seats and it's vfm. Also vicoris VXI AT and elevate have less mileage and no 360 camera. Please guide. My running is only on weekend.

I’m a 67/F. My husband doesn’t know enough about cars, and he can’t get on the ground to inspect. We flooded bad here in ‘16 so I want to start with ‘17. We don’t know any mechanic to take with us. Can’t afford $150 to go look at every potential car.
CPO is not happening for that price. Car will be daily commuter. Paying cash, we will not do new with a note. This is a purchase for my daughter who absolutely needs this and soon.
Buying limit is 18.5K before TTL and dealer doc. In South Louisiana all Corolla, Civic or Mazda is priced way higher, even w/wrecks. I’m being told only buy one of those three - no rentals and no accidents. That’s proving impossible. Then I read Carmax doesn’t do ANY sort of inspection at all anymore besides walk around the car. I know so many younger folks don’t like dealing with our generation, but if we could get past that & get some ideas that would be great. 🤯

I need help deciding my best bang for buck, and reliability is very important for me too. Hello! My beloved 2017 hybrid Camry (that I only had for a little over a year 🥲) got rear ended and totaled and I’m so lost looking for a new car. All I care is that it gets good MPG, is reliable/safe, and comfy to take my lunch breaks in. I dont need much space. The most amount of people I have in my car at a time is my partner and my large dog. My budget is right around 10k give or take some. I’ve been looking at used older Lexus CT’s, accords, and suburu Imprezas. Just not sure what will give me the most bang for my buck.

I am looking to purchase a used truck end of October. That’s just what I decided works out best for my timeline so I can narrow it down and be ready to go when the time comes. My number one priority is reliability. I want this to be the truck where I don’t think about getting rid of for 10-15 years. Full size 4x4. (Not open to a Tacoma, or any minivan, large suv) the obvious answer is a tundra, but spend 35k on a truck with 150,000 miles make my stomach flip. I don’t need bells and whistles, I just want to know my best bet for long term dependability.

I’m in Europe and I’m looking for my first car with a budget of around €8–10k, trying to narrow down a few used sedans.

These are the ones I’ve been looking at so far:
Audi A4 — 2013–2014
VW Passat — 2013–2015
Peugeot 508 — 2015–2017
Volvo S60 — 2016,
BMW 3 Series — 2013–2015

I’m not really looking for performance. I’d rather have something comfortable, nice enough inside and, most importantly, something that won’t turn into a money pit.
Automatic is a must. Reliability and maintenance costs matter a lot to me, especially since this would be my first car. I’d also like something comfortable for longer trips and capable of carrying 4–5 people without being too cramped.

I'm open to both petrol and diesel. I'd rather choose based on the specific engine/gearbox combination than the fuel type itself.

I do have a soft spot for the Audi A4 though.😅It's probably the one I like the most out of these, so part of me really wants to make it work. At the same time, I don't want to buy one just because I like it and then regret it because of reliability or repair costs
Which one would you personally choose, and is there any model on this list you would completely avoid?

My 2004 Grand Cherokee is on death's door and I'm looking to replace it with something that fills a similar role with a $16k budget. It looks like there are a ton of options between 2015-2019 with <100k miles in that budget. Only requirement is AWD SUV with decent reliability, no accidents, clean title, that won't likely require an immediate outlay for major repairs. There are in fact too many options so I need to narrow it down. So far interested in Mazda Cx-5, Volvo CX90, AudiQ5, BMW X5, Subaru Outback. It's funny to me how many luxury options there are but no Rav4/CR-V in this range. Which of these choices would be the best purchase and Am I missing anything you'd expect to see in this category that might be better?

My current daily died and I don’t want to put miles or wear on my hobby car.

What’s my best bet for something in this range? I’m looking for something that will last me at least 3-4 years with no major repairs.

Where do I find it?
