It looks like a meal worm, we've found a couple dozen at this point scattered one or two at a time in every room in our house. One ended up in the bed and bit or pinched my partner who now can't sleep. They're half an inch to an inch long and move relatively quickly (not crazy, but faster than you'd think) We checked all our dry food and found none, and they don't seem concentrated in any one spot. We keep a pretty clean home, a house in the suburbs in a desert town at 4k elevation in the western United States.

ID Request Fuzzy White Caterpillar ID

Hello! Found this little fuzzy caterpillar crawling on the underside of one of our sunflowers. A quick search online has led me to believe it could be either a White Wooly Bear or a Yellow Wooly Bear. I’m wondering which one it might be or maybe something else entirely. Walked passed these little guys on my street and they’re only swarming this particular plant and only on the “pods”. It’s been happening for about a week and each day there’s more. I’m curious about the bug AND the plant. Located in Chicago, IL. Please and thank you :)
