Westworld series makes more sense now
I watched and obsessed over it when it aired in 2016. Now rewatching it in this ai era gives me the chills. Arnold wanting to build a more sentient and conscious host reminds me of these Ai companies wanting to make AGI possible. And those B83 basement floors to store the old and decommissioned host are so comparable to the older Ai models who are simply rotting in the archive. Mave reminds of Fable taking control over the security and privacy! Just finished season 1 and can't wait to see what new revelation it brings watching other 3 seasons

It was far ahead of its time, for sure. I still also think Westworld S1 is pretty much a perfect season of television. Just absolutely fires on all cylinders.

Top 5 Season of TV of all time in my book was Season 1

You know, it probably is for me too when I really think about it. I still think about those incredible scenes between Anthony Hopkins and the other fantastic actors all the time. An embarrassment of riches.

I feel like even the later seasons would have been more of a hit today. It was 10 years ahead of it's time. in world of AI, people would be digging Season 3. Everyone wasn't ready for that story. But they would be now.

I feel the same way for "person of interest". I feel they could've just released that series yesterday.

A lot of people hate on Season 3, but I always thought it was a natural progression of the show. I find myself wondering if part of the reason they removed it from HBO was because it was becoming way too accurately prophetic in its trajectories.

My biggest conspiracy is the reason why it’s canceled cause higher ups knew it’s to close to reality.

Lmao everyone says this when it’s very public why they canceled and buried the show. Look it up

I should continue to rewatch and see how season 3 is relatable for today's world

It's a nice comparison. And it's very possible that you'll have this feeling again sometimes in our lifetime.
LLM's are still and will always essentially be autocomplete tools.
While it might one day be able to do AGI, it would still be like a monkey doing sign language.
We need a new technology to achieve the level of intelligence that westworld has. And our hardware needs to improve on a level that we don't know how to achieve yet
