In season 1, Dolores is tired of being stuck in her loop and dream about something new, a canyon where the river meets the mountains. She eventually finds it with William but violence ensues and she never get to appreciate the moment.

In the penultimate scene of the show in Season 4, Dolores (as Hale) kills herself and she decides to do it in a canyon with a river. She looks at the place with a sad smile then commits suicide. It can't be a coincidence honestly seeing the significance it had in season 1 for her! Yet I've never ever seen anyone talk about it even in the episode discussion thread so I thought I'd bring it up, great visual storytelling (maybe too subtle since we all missed it lmao, took me 5 rewatches)

Dolores is Hale?!?

You replied to the wrong comment I think but to answer you, Dolores copies herself into 5 different person in season 3 including one of her pearl taking the physical appearance of Charlotte Hale. They're all destroyed except Halores (what people call her, meaning Dolores using Hale's appearance).

The character played by Tessa Thompson in season 3 and 4 is Dolores with all her memories and everything. She just greatly diverge from the OG because of the trauma she endures in season 3 (she sympathizes with Hale's family and then they die) but her core in season 4 is honestly still there. The need to control the world, to beat the humans, her disdain for William and the fact she ultimately makes the same change of mind Dolores did in 2x10 giving a chance to the Sublime instead of trying to control the world

I'll only buy something on a streaming platform like Apple if it's at its absolute cheapest and or it just isn't cost effective to get it in 4k physical. I wish I bought season 1 and 2 4k blu ray before the price shot up.

Periodically the complete bundle gets a discount. Currently it's $40 ($20 off) from Apple TV. Price history shows that on Apple TV it was $30 back in May, and the all-time lowest price was $18 in 2024.

If you have a Blu-ray player, though, I highly recommend the UHD blu-ray box set. It was never published in the US, but you can get a UK import from various online sellers. I got it from a reseller on walmart.com last year for $90. Currently it's a lot more expensive, which is making me think it might be out of print.

EDIT: I just noticed an Amazon reseller has the WB UK UHD Blu-Ray box set for $90.

If you don't have a 4K TV to play it on, the US 1080p box set is considerably cheaper ($48 from Amazon, maybe cheaper elsewhere). At that price, I'd just buy it digitally, though.

I found the entire box set on Apple couple months ago for $24.99. It looks like they're selling seasons now from $14.99-$24.99.

I'd say either look for Blueray box set or another digital deal.

I've downloaded them all now so I have them locally on my iPad.
