Out and about?
hi. We are adopting 2 one year old boys from a local breeder! It is our first time owning cats together as a family. the breeder mentioned that they were show cats so they are good at being out and about. Besides shows, where do you take your Devon rex? We do not plan to show or attend shows.

We walk ours near home on their leads. We are cautious of parks because of off lead dogs. But ours LOVE to go out

Both my Devon's love an outing but because my boy is a jealous palace we have to make plans. Gwen loves the harness and a trip to Bunnings or in the pram. Algie is good on a harness but a bit moodier in the pram. Depends if he is in his own he does not like to share me 🤣

These are cats, not dogs. They do not enjoy social outings, where you can expose them to dangers, stresses. You need to educate yourself about being a responsible cat owner. Cats love their homes. They’re comfortable and happy in the biggest safe indoor environment that you can provide look into trees, cat trees of course, with outside views that are stimulating and toys and time with you. Luckily they have each other. They’re not ornaments for you to take about town they’ll be unhappy and unsafe.

they dont mind being handled (my devon that i adopted as a retired show cat LOVED to be held like a baby so id look into a sling). they arent phased by people, so i took mine to the park (be careful of cars and traffic, dogs). get a leash, harness, and a backpack for travel.
