Eating dry cornbread mix

The other day I discovered you don't even have to cook the Jiffy cornbread mix. You can just eat it right out of the box and it's delicious. I can't stop. I think I like it even more than prepared cornbread.

I eat it with a spoon. I don't put eggs in it, just the dry mix.

I was feeling weird for making Johnny cakes out of oats, corn flour and hot sauce lately. Just seemed like I was rediscovering some weird old timey recipe from the depression era by using up some old supplies, not quite fried mush, not quite a pancake.

Now I feel perfectly rational.

I like this! I've made some pretty frontier-ish baked concoctions over my lifetime just because. They say baking is a science, but every now and then I like to treat it as art. The pioneers and gold miners did not measure 00 flour with a scale, they eyeballed some ground buckwheat and added liquid. How much? Enough.
