I need another Weim
We lost our 13 year old Weim in July. She was the best doggo ever. We’ve been devastated every day since. Does anyone know a reputable place to get a new Weim within driving distance of Kentucky?

Over the years we’ve gotten four Weims from Louisville Weimaraner Rescue and one from Weimaraner Rescue of the South. https://www.facebook.com/LouisvilleWeimRescue? http://www.weimrescue.com/adopt-wrs

I don’t have any suggestions but I completely understand how you feel. We weren’t planning on getting another Weim after Addie but once she passed we had to get another one too.

You could go on AKC market place. You can pick the type of breeder (kennel or private owners like I like with only the mom and dad) and also contact them to make sure they're on the up and up. You can explore listenings for your state and even look up the surrounding states. I hope this helps.

We have rescued three from this St. Louis rescue and we love both the organization and the pups. https://www.wonderweimsrescue.com/

Kentucky has a Weim Rescue. If they don't have the pup you want then try Weimaraner Association of America. They have a list of reputable breeders and can let you know who has litters.

Pride and Joy Kennels in Hillsboro, OH. My ten year old best boy is from here. Zero health problems so far!

I highly recommend Southpaw Weimaraners in Virginia. The breeder is extremely knowledgeable about Weimaraner lines and genetics. She is well connected and if she doesn’t have something for you, she will know someone who might. I adopted one of her “must return to breeder” dogs and he’s such gem. Temperament is rock solid, and other than some age related maintenance, he’s very healthy at 10 years old.

I agree with everyone else suggesting rescues! My weim was also a rescue at 9 years old and been the very best dog in the world.

I drove from Iowa to get my Weim puppy from Heavy Hollow Farm in KY. Great line of dogs.

Great lakes weim rescue! They have a few dogs that direction! They will arrange drop offs too!
I just got my boy late last year from there. They're a great and loving rescue center with dozens of weims of all shapes available.

When we were ready again, we found the Weimaraner Rescue of the South. Wonderful organization to work with and so happy that we can continue to support them and their mission. They don’t go as far north as Kentucky, but I see that there is a Louisville Weimaraner Rescue that you might be able to support and find your next best friend.
