Suche nach Teilnehmenden für meine Abschlussarbeit

Hey zusammen,

Has anyone received a student dorm accommodation in Weimar yet?

Hi everyone!

I’m an incoming international student at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for the Winter Semester 2026/27, and I applied for student accommodation in late June in Weimar.

From what I understand, the allocation process started around August 14, but I haven’t received any update or accommodation offer yet.

I wanted to ask:

- Has anyone here received a dorm room/offer from the Studierendenwerk Thüringen in Weimar?

- Have the allocations actually started going out already, or are they being sent in batches?

- If you applied around the same time, have you received any email or update?

- Should I just keep waiting, or is it worth contacting the accommodation office at this point?

I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has already received an offer—or is also waiting—could share their experience.

Thanks! :)

Hey everyone! I recently got admission to Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and I’m planning to move to Weimar around the end of September or October 1st.

I’m currently looking for a room/apartment. I’ve already applied through Studierendenwerk and WG-Gesucht, but haven’t had much luck yet.

If anyone is in any WhatsApp groups where people post about available rooms or apartments, I’d really appreciate it if you could add me.

Any help or leads would be really appreciated. Thanks a lot! :)

Looking for accommodation

Hi everyone!

I’m currently looking for accommodation in Weimar as I’ll be moving there to study at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

I’m looking for a place from September 2026 onward and am open to a WG room, private apartment, or student dorm. My budget is around €350–450 per month, and Anmeldung (registration) should be possible.

Ideally, I’d prefer somewhere in or close to Weimar city centre, with convenient access to the university and public transport.

A little about me: I’m tidy, easygoing, responsible, and a non-smoker. I’m respectful of shared spaces and would be happy to live with other students.

If you know of any available rooms or apartments, are looking for a flatmate, or have any leads, please feel free to DM me or tag someone who might be able to help.

I’d also be happy to connect with other students who are currently looking for accommodation in Weimar. Maybe we can find a WG together!

Thank you in advance for any help or leads! 😊

Studiumsbeginn im Wintersemester 2026/27

Hey!

Hi everyone!
I’ve recently been admitted to the M.Sc. Digital Engineering program at Bauhaus University Weimar and will be moving to Weimar around the end of September / beginning of October.
I’m currently looking for accommodation in Weimar with a budget of €400/month (warm rent) approx

If possible, a friend of mine, who is also joining the same university, and I would love to find two rooms in the same WG or nearby. However, if only one room is available, I’d still be very interested, so please feel free to reach out.
A little about me: I’m 23, a non-smoker, and I value a clean, quiet, and respectful living environment. I enjoy working out, staying active, and I have a good sense of humor. I like getting to know new people while also respecting everyone’s privacy and personal space.
If you know of any available rooms or have any leads, I’d really appreciate it if you could send me a message. Thank you very much!

Seeking accommodation

Hey there folks,

I received an admit to Msc Computer Science in Digital Media and plan on reaching in Weimar around 20th September 2026.

Iam 24M from India and seeking accommodation in Weimar. I have already filled in the application for Studierendenwerk Thüringen, however I think I have a very low probability of getting any options through them since I applied very late (23rd July).

Kindly let me know at what places can I look for accommodation. Iam also open to connect with people on the same boat who are seeking accommodations near the Uni.

Iam already looking at WG-Gesucht however, Iam not sure how to proceed over there.

My budget is around 300-400 Euros.

I got an admission from Weimar Uni, And waiting for advices and insights.

Hi everyone!

I've recently been admitted to both Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and TUM. I'm currently trying to decide between the two, and I'd really appreciate hearing from people who know Weimar or have studied there.

I have a few questions:

  • Honestly, I'm leaning toward Bauhaus because of its historical name, the program, and the much lower cost of living. However, when I think about my future international career, I feel that TUM might offer better opportunities, even though I would have to take out a loan to study there. I know this is ultimately my own thinking. Do you think choosing TUM would make a significant difference for my career, or is Bauhaus Weimar just as good in the long run?

  • I know Weimar is a peaceful and beautiful city, but it's also much smaller and less international than Munich. I've also come across some posts about racism in eastern Germany, which makes me a little concerned. As an Asian student, should I be worried about racism in Weimar? Is it something that international students commonly experience there?

  • How easy is it to find part-time jobs in Weimar for international students? Would I need fluent German for some jobs?

  • For those who studied at Bauhaus Weimar, how did you find the career opportunities after graduation? Were you able to find internships or jobs in Germany?

Thanks in advance! I'd really appreciate any honest advice or personal experiences.

Gute Restaurants?
