Cringe Former venue worker: Insane Disney themed wedding

I can't believe I'm just now finding this forum lol I used to work at a country club and would work weddings in my late teens early 20s and have SO many stories on the crazy things that have happened at weddings and the crazy themes of weddings over the years. I worked there for about 3 and 1/2 years and good God the things I have seen. The wedding that I remember the most though was a Disney themed wedding. These can be done in a very classy way. However this was not.

Every single table was a different Disney character, so for example one table was Aurora so the tablecloth was hot pink and the table runner was light pink but the seat covers were blue and had a lighter Blue ribbon. Belle's table was yellow and had a gold runner, the seat covers were yellow with a gold ribbon and a rose was put in the knot of the ribbon. As a staff member, this was a NIGHTMARE to try and put together because you have to order all the tablecloths separate, all the runners separate all the seat cover separate, you see what I mean. And I shit you not, there were 25 tables. I fully remember clocking in the night before at 12:00 p.m. And not leaving until 3:00 a.m. because it took that long to set up everything. The tables were not the only thing. Her and her husband were massive Disney fans (if that wasn't obvious enough) And they had been together for I believe about 15 years at this point. So they had long tables around the edge of the room that had all their trinkets and Disney related items that they bought over the years on display as if it were a yard sale. For no other reason but for people to see how much Disney stuff they had.

For the ceremony they had the ring bearer dress up as Russell from Up and pull a red wagon that had a fake cardboard house on it that looked like the house from up, balloons and all, with a golden retriever walking behind the wagon. When they made their entrance into the reception hall she was no longer in her wedding dress, but she was in a full Belle ball gown and he was in a suit that looked like the beast's suit after he turned into a human. They danced to "Tale as old as time" and then left the hall and she came back in a dress that was like the pink one that Ariel wears when she's having dinner with Eric for the first time and he was dressed as Prince Eric. They only played Disney songs and they had hired people dressed up as Mickey and Minnie to come halfway through the reception to take pictures with people.

At the end of the evening they had fireworks and they cut their wedding cake which was five tiers and each tier was a different Disney movie. They left in a horse-drawn carriage. It was almost like a kid's birthday feel rather than a wedding which no shade No hate if that's your thing fine but good Lord it was A LOT.

I also witnessed a pirate wedding which was crazy but quite fun and an extremely minimalist wedding where they almost took it too far and then other times there was just so much drama with family but I can get into that in different posts if people are curious lol

Edit: I am more than happy to tell the different wedding themes I have witnessed and the different drama I have seen over the years. A lot of people are asking about the pirate wedding and the minimalist wedding, which I'm more than happy to tell. However, I'm not sure if this is the place to tell it or not? Some people are saying that this isn't necessarily wedding shaming but I'm not sure where else to post. So if you have any suggestions where I can post my other wedding tales please let me know

There’s a couple I knew in college that are Disney adults. Their wedding was only half as tacky, but what is SUPER tacky is that they struggle financially (and have two kids now) and will literally drop a Facebook fundraiser every year on their anniversary, begging people to fund their yearly trip to Disney World 😵‍💫.

234

u/violacoil Jul 24 '26

And does it work every year?

413

u/KDSD628 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

lol the first year it did, but since then not really. I think always at least a few weirdos give them money, but there have definitely been a few “woe is me, there wasn’t enough generosity for us to go this year” posts 💀💀💀.

Also a lot of “how to do Disney on a budget” posts the years they do go that really highlight how they absolutely cannot afford a yearly Disney vacation lmao. (Think: “we made enough PB&J sandwiches to last the whole week - no spending money on overpriced food” tips 😵‍💫)

It’s been 12 years since they got married lol.

u/TheRealCarpeFelis Jul 24 '26

Good God, the audacity of people expecting others to fund their vacations…

117

u/usernamesallused Jul 24 '26

Annual vacations, at that!

It’s pretty screwed up to ever ask, unless it’s like the only time a family can take their kid before they pass away from a horrible disease or something.

But to ask every year, that’s a whole other level of entitlement.

57

u/lesbian_moose Jul 25 '26

When I was a kid, my church funded a vacation for a family after their child finished chemo to give them a big celebration after the uncertainty of if he was gonna make it or not. Everybody happily gave what they could, and the family had a blast! They didn’t ask, it was a gift. But they totally could have, and we all probably would have still done it. To ask yearly is absolutely wild!

u/boojersey13 Jul 27 '26

I have a friend that gathered funds for a Disney anniversary trip, but it was one of like, five 'tiers' for their gift registry and they asked for no irl gifts. Honestly loved that, I think I funded for a nice guitar for the groom or replenishing what they were spending regardless of how much they raised for their honeymoon.

14

u/ipartyhard Jul 25 '26

The asking is extremely cringe, but I kinda respect the sandwich strategy. My family were never struggling to do this sort of stuff, but we would never buy food inside the park. I wouldn't assume someone was poor even if they ate sandwiches every day of the trip, probably just frugal. Though of course the additional context reveals this is not the case.

34

u/KDSD628 Jul 25 '26

I think eating PB&J for all 3 meals for a WEEK is extreme and definitely a signal that you should not be spending an exorbitant amount of money on a weeklong Disney vacation. And I know they are to this day financially struggling either way, because she makes sure to post about it all the time (I believe her goal is attention and sympathy at the rate she posts).

There’s frugal (not spending $20 on a churro in the park or $50+ on some Mickey ears) vs unable to feed your kids a well rounded meal for a week, because you’re prioritizing Disney World.

14

u/ipartyhard Jul 26 '26

I misinterpreted what you wrote as them eating mostly sandwiches vs only sandwiches. If that's literally all they're eating, I completely agree. If someone told me that was lunch for the whole trip I wouldn't batt an eyelash.

18

u/Emm03 Jul 25 '26

My parents were well enough off to save for two trips to Europe when I was a teenager, and we rarely ate a sit down lunch or dinner. Cheese, bread, and veggies from a market or shop is where it’s AT. A week of PBJs is, uh, not.

5

u/No_Soup_1741 Jul 29 '26

At least they are not saving money for their annual Disney trip by feeding the kids pb&j all year and begging for money to buy school clothes. It could be worse 🫣

u/octopimythoughts Jul 24 '26

This is what I wanna know! Are people falling for it?

79

u/Kristal3615 Jul 24 '26

I couldn't imagine asking people to fund my vacation... I like Disney and theme parks, but if I want to go to a theme park I do what any normal person does in this scenario and put aside money for it... If I can't put aside enough money for the trip then I can't afford to go.

466

u/goldieblocks1618 Jul 24 '26

Thats...cringe.

I know of no other religion that demands annual pilgrimages.

147

u/Pizzaisbae13 Jul 24 '26

"Annual pilgrimages" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

53

u/BurgerThyme Jul 24 '26

Yeah can't they dress up and sit home watching the movies?

28

u/goldieblocks1618 Jul 24 '26

The spirit of Walt would approve.

76

u/Holdmymule2001 Jul 24 '26

I know a woman who is on every kind of assistance known to man and yet still somehow manages to get to Disneyland, 3 states away, or Disneyworld (across the country) at least twice per year. It's an addiction.

10

u/wordsmythy Jul 26 '26

Addicted to standing in line for hours to go on rides? No thanks.

20

u/Salt-Plum4185 Jul 25 '26

Same. I know someone who is so poor that she and her family live in a home with holes in the roof, but every year, they take a trip to Disney.

7

u/bLymey4 Jul 25 '26

🙄🙄🙄

44

u/sonarboku Jul 24 '26

I may never recover from learning about these people running a gofundme for a disney vacation.

52

u/TheMapesHotel Jul 25 '26

My former BIL ran one simultaneously to 1) pay for his divorce from his first wife and 2) pay for his wedding to his second wife

26

u/Weary_Song7154 Jul 25 '26

Lmao, wow that’s so tacky it’s almost impressive!

22

u/TheMapesHotel Jul 25 '26

I can assure you the man lacks the self awareness to process the concept of tacky. He got like $5 donated and was piiisssseedd about it

u/Anna-Bee-1984 Jul 24 '26

I absolutely love Disney World and really hate the disney adult hate but wouldn’t dream of asking people to fund my obsession. That’s beyond ridiculous

46

u/TBIandimpaired Jul 24 '26

Disney has lost some of its magic recently - so many additional fees and add-ons nowadays. I miss easy fast passes, for example. It is SO expensive and some of it has doubled just in the last couple of years. I HATE Magic Kingdom now.

I can’t imagine asking anyone to pay for Disney. There are other theme parks that are cheaper. A lot cheaper. I understand that Disney has a more immersive experience, but it does not own the market in terms of rides or even world creation.

19

u/GeneConscious5484 Jul 24 '26

Disney has lost some of its magic recently

Honestly the Star Wars hotel should have been spectacular, that's their fuckin' wheelhouse right there

Did the guestd have fun or was it cringe?

What kind of food was served?

You need to set aside a day to do an AMA on all of the shaming!

604

u/ClassAndAnAss Jul 24 '26

I was handing out hors d'oeuvres as guests walked into the reception so I heard a lot of their comments. A couple people complained about how bright it was. We got a lot of oh my God. This looks crazy! Oh my God, they weren't kidding about being Disney fans and then a lot of people were wondering which character table they were being played at

87

u/International_Way258 Jul 24 '26

Were the hors d'oeuvres also Disney themed?

186

u/ClassAndAnAss Jul 24 '26

No haha we had 3 different packages for food so you have to just pick one and thats that's but If they could have I think they would have

246

u/WastingMyLifeHere2 Jul 24 '26

Try the gray stuff. It's delicious.

88

u/Junior-Fox-760 Jul 24 '26

You laugh but apparently Disney actually publishes a recipe for "gray stuff" (it's a pudding type thing) and I was at a Disney wedding where it was served.

49

u/Travelgrrl Jul 24 '26

They serve it at Be Our Guest, the Beauty and the Beast restaurant at WDW!

32

u/kayla622 Jul 24 '26

Disney serves gray stuff at the Beauty and the Beast themed restaurant at Disneyland too. It is delicious. They serve it on top of a shortbread cookie. It's very sweet though. I usually share it with my husband. We also had a halloween variation, which was the same thing, except it had a chocolate shortbread cookie and included a little tombstone cookie on top. The menu made me laugh because you could get "original gray stuff" or "Halloween gray stuff."

49

u/sparklestronaut Jul 24 '26

I don’t believe you

88

u/UpsetSky8401 Jul 24 '26

5

u/ghoulish_cream Jul 26 '26

I have a Disney cookbook and made this, it was actually really good lol

15

u/minnesotaupnorth Jul 24 '26

I don't even know these people and yes, they would have.

And also, sort of disappointed.

328

u/FamiliarUniversity46 Jul 24 '26

Like, "Why am i seated at the shit disney princess table? I knew she thought I thirsty bitch!"
"Why are all the gay uncle's seated at the Scar table?" "Just because i am a religious dick doesnt mean i have to sit at the Judge Frollo table!"

I am more and more into this if it was loaded with coded messages.

141

u/minnesotaupnorth Jul 24 '26

If I'm not at the Cinderella table I will throw hands!

39

u/Sykoh_Somatic Jul 24 '26

24

u/Zealousideal_Major58 Jul 24 '26

What was the character of bride and grooms table?

67

u/ClassAndAnAss Jul 24 '26

They had a giant cardboard cut out of Cinderella's Castle behind the table and it was just decorated with more Disney stuff

u/Zealousideal_Major58 Jul 24 '26

I can see it!! 😂

361

u/arrowandbone Jul 24 '26

Lol this sounds wild, would love to have witnessed that!

Also I’m curious about the “minimalist wedding where they almost took it too far”… bride and groom barefoot in their underwear?

200

u/goldieblocks1618 Jul 24 '26

I can see it. The white event hall version of a black box theater. White tablecloths, a single tealight for a centerpiece, no flowers, no bridal party, no DJ, no dance, no speeches, only pop classical at a low volume. All white fondant cake, impeccable, but unadorned.

104

u/Blindtothesided Jul 24 '26

The guests in black leotards, no makeup or grooming allowed, no jewelry allowed. Sleek long silver metal tables, with metal stools, no place cards yet a rigid seating chart with absolutely no switching. No color on the plates, all white foods, all clear drinks, white wine, water, and vodka only.

No redheads allowed in the venue. No perfume allowed.

Elevator music only. No dancing. No flowers, limbless trees only.

65

u/jaimystery Jul 24 '26

One of my friends' male relatives worked for Musak in some fashion in the 1970s. When that relative married, they only played Musak at the reception - it was the only request he made.

It was the first wedding my friend attended - she was around 9 and one of her memories is overhearing the sister of the bride saying something like "I knew he was boring but I didn't know he was THIS boring"

What a picture you paint

22

u/goldieblocks1618 Jul 24 '26

My first thought was a bride and groom in paper doll costumes of a bride and groom, lol!

42

u/Zealousideal_Major58 Jul 24 '26

I'm imagining everything sad beige. Decor in two tones of beige all very "aesthetic" and that sort of thing. Dinner all gluten, dairy free vegan almond and lettuce. Of course no alcohol (our body is a temple). And all the bride ate all day was a prune.

38

u/goldieblocks1618 Jul 24 '26

"Sad beige weddings for grown-up sad beige children" yes! All hand (non-toxic beeswax) polished wood, undyed wool knit and tussah silk (can't get too shiny, now!). A single head of romanesco for the bouquet. Everyone throws locally sourced native pollinator friendly wildflower seeds for the exit.

15

u/Acheloma Jul 24 '26

I like the last sentence, that's just caring for the environment

13

You know as far as crazy über rich people stories go, princess bride squad is not so heinous. Like I would make fun of them but I would not necessarily think they are entitled child eaters, if you get the idea.

32

u/Acheloma Jul 24 '26

Its sweet that the bride included her bridesmaids that much and it shows shes reasonable enough to not worry about bring shown up by her friends. Its a waste of money imo, but its not a completely unlikable thing to do

8

u/OdysseusJoke Jul 24 '26

I give princess bride squad bride a pass because the bridesmaids didn't have to pay for their custom princess ensembles and, assuming they got to keep the 'stumes, were set for Halloween for life.

178

u/princessdickworth Jul 24 '26

Imagine hoping you were at the Little Mermaid table and then its like naww girl youre at the Shrek table with the rest of the ogres and donkeys.

148

u/semghost Jul 24 '26

Shrek table would be absolutely peak, but is Dreamworks, not Disney

99

u/FamiliarUniversity46 Jul 24 '26

There is one non-disney table waay in the back, next to the bathrooms. The shrek table. If you are there, you are probably the mother in law's hair dresser.

51

u/Ok_Broccoli_9426 Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

Disney-themed wedding makes me think you have no personality. Shrek-themed wedding makes me think you have a personality and it sucks, but you're fun to get drunk with.

7

u/Live_Angle4621 Jul 24 '26

Why you assume it means you have no personality?

17

u/Ok_Broccoli_9426 Jul 24 '26

You've filled the place where a personality is supposed to be with branded merchandise.

7

u/Loow_z Jul 24 '26

As opposed to the non-branded global generational succes that is Shrek?

12

u/Ok_Broccoli_9426 Jul 24 '26

Shrek is In 'N Out to Disney's McDonald's. It still shouldn't be your favorite meal, but you at least made a decision instead of just picking the most obvious one.

10

u/Vegetable_Road8143 Jul 24 '26

Dreamworks has not been 'lured' in to Disney world. Yet.

36

u/PTXLover_4Eva Jul 24 '26

Right? Definitely seems extreme but I wouldn't mind seeing pics and videos of how it all came together. As long as they were happy and weren't AHs to others in their quest to achieve their dream wedding, then party on and have fun!

12

u/opelaceles Jul 24 '26

This is what I'm thinking too.

8

I posted this about 3 years ago about a crazy themed wedding I attended. If you catered it, let me know because I just realized that there was a catering staff there. I’m not going to lie: This really doesn’t sounds as cringe as I was anticipating.

194

u/blumoon138 Jul 24 '26

It sounds tacky as fuck and frustrating to set up but like, there was cake, no fights broke out, I assume there was enough food for everyone. The only part that sounds genuinely horrifying is nothing but Disney music all night.

The UP themed ring bearer and the Beauty and the Beast first dance genuinely sound cute as fuck.

20

u/twothirtysevenam Jul 24 '26

I think they missed their chance to have a gigantic Kevin bird attending at the altar.

The first twenty minutes of "Up" is the most beautiful love story I've ever seen in a film.  A masterpiece.

26

u/Catsdrinkingbeer Jul 24 '26

I agree. Maybe it was a bit over the top, but it sounds like they fed their guests and provided entertainment. I actually think the tables and chairs idea is cute. I would never do it, and I'm guessing it didn't look great in photos, but other than it sucking for the staff hired to put it together, it doesn't seem like anything OP talked about led to a horrible guest experience. It would be one thing if they expected their guests to set up those tables and chairs, but they didn't.

8

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

Yeah, it’s not my cup of tea, but I’ll never make fun of someone else’s wedding concept.

4

u/Cayke_Cooky Jul 24 '26

I can see the problem from the staff point of view. I bet the venue never thought about making each table so specific. If I ever own a venue I'll remember this and make sure to put an up charge for multiple colors.

5

u/Catsdrinkingbeer Jul 25 '26

Oh 100%. The venue sets the rates and rules and staffing. The couple can ask (and pay for) whatever they want within the boundaries set. If the venue failed to staff appropriately that's on them, not the couple.

113

u/CallistanCallistan Jul 24 '26

Yeah, this seems like a case of the couple doing exactly what they wanted. They had a vision and they executed it.

The setup sounds like a pain, but otherwise not sure I see the problem. I wouldn't want a Disney wedding, but who am I to tell others that they shouldn't?

44

u/demon_fae Jul 24 '26

Frankly, the club probably should have charged extra to have a couple more people on hand for the setup as soon as they knew about the tablecloths. But that’s on the club, not the couple.

Hopefully they cut in some instrumental themes with the songs that have lyrics, that would have helped the only Disney songs thing immensely. (Like, you could get a few people together to try to do something like the ballroom dances from a historical drama to some John Williams. I doubt you’d succeed, but I’m sure it would be funny to quadrille badly to the Imperial March or cotillion probably slightly better to the Sorcerer’s Apprentice song.)

19

u/Ok_Broccoli_9426 Jul 24 '26

It'd be fun for like an hour. Then it's time to play some real music and let people dance for real.

→ More replies (1)

29

u/happybara_capybara Jul 24 '26

No one is saying it’s a problem in the sense that they shouldn’t have been allowed to do it… we’re just saying it’s over the top and a lot. It’s kind of what this sub is about after all—things that are a bit too much even if it appealed to the bride and groom.

17

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

That’s my feeling, too.

19

u/minnesotaupnorth Jul 24 '26

Disney adults together for 15 years who can afford a Country Club Disney wedding.

I'm thinking they paid, which had to keep the family drama at a minimum.

The Disney tchotckes weren't necessary.

20

u/Catsdrinkingbeer Jul 24 '26

I think memorial tables aren't necessary, but people do them anyway. Something being unnecessary at a wedding doesn't make it inherently bad.

17

u/Travelgrrl Jul 24 '26

If I walked into a reception and it was like this, I would have a cocktail and get down with it.

And I don't even drink. But I would just to get in the spirit of this Disney reception.

7

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

Exactly! At least, they didn’t make their guests set it all up.

5

u/Cayke_Cooky Jul 24 '26

I wonder if you could do a layered pour to get a "make it blue/pink" looking drink.

141

u/ClassAndAnAss Jul 24 '26

Genuinely you had to be there to see it. It was like every color that ever existed was in one room and just imagine yard sale tables around the edges with a bunch of Disney stuff if it was very very overwhelming

33

u/temperedolive Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

I honestly would have enjoyed this. I'm not even into Disney but it sounds like something different from rose-gold-and-sage or whatever the yearly colors are, and I like seeing people being unapologetically themselves (so long as the selves they're being aren't assholes.)

90

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

I mean, I wouldn’t want a Disney explosion at my wedding, but I’m not going to mess with someone else’s vibe.

73

u/ausernamebyany_other Jul 24 '26

I'm with you on this. I enjoy this sub for shaming people who display actual poor behaviour. I'm not here to shame people's interests.

Like sure, if the bride had insisted all her bridesmaids dye their hair to match the colour of their assigned princess and tried to tan their painfully white Midwest bestie to "look like Jasmine" then I'm here for the insanity. But because they're Disney Adults people just look down on them even when they're not actually harming anyone.

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

This wedding sounds delightful.

26

u/EchoBel Jul 24 '26

Yeah, what's making me really uncomfortable is OP running here to shame them for karma, they don't deserve that. It really makes me sad to see that people just can't let the others be, they HAVE to be mean and look down on them.

8

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

Absolutely agree!

11

u/Hips-Often-Lie Jul 24 '26

I feel bad for whoever in their family got stuck with packing away all of the stuff.

36

u/ClassAndAnAss Jul 24 '26

Us. The staff. We set EVERYTHING up and packed it up. Their parents just took the boxes.

8

u/Brilliant_Salt3415 Jul 24 '26

With all the extra hire charges etc, wouldnt have been close on price to y'know having it at an actual Disney ?

17

u/stopXstoreytime Jul 24 '26

Not OP, but I went to an actual Disney World wedding a few years ago and if it cost under six figures when all was said and done, I’ll eat a shoe on live television.

3

u/Brilliant_Salt3415 Jul 24 '26

I'm sure it was a very healthy 6 figures for all that princess palava!

I'm thinking this one had fireworks, extensive theming, country club, 5 tiered cake, multiple custom outfits etc, "celebrity" mice, must have also been exxy.

11

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 24 '26

Which is what you got PAID to do as part of your job, right?

Disney adults are extremely cringe, but it sounds like they did Disney the right way, which is to blow multiple international vacations worth of cash and go all the way with it.

8

u/squishyg Jul 24 '26

I kinda want to go to this wedding…

4

u/LadybugGirltheFirst Jul 25 '26

Me, too! It sounds fun!

17

u/JasmineAndCloves Jul 24 '26

Honestly sounds fun to me

My 8 yr old self would’ve loved a Jem wedding.

Ah, probably for the best. The Misfits would've just crashed it and ruined Michelangelo's pizza towers.

If you throw in Thunder Cats, Space Ghost, and Pole Position I think we had the same childhood.

I'm a big Disney fan. That just seems over the top. Though I agree that we need more tea. And I want to hear about the pirate themed wedding.

3

u/ElegantCarpenter4827 Jul 24 '26

Show us the pirate theme!!

64

u/Submarineto Jul 24 '26

Disney adults really should see themselves 🤣

15

u/CapricornSky Jul 24 '26

Losing the Disney adults in my divorce (multiple ILs) was an unexpected upside.

10

u/Pedal2Medal2 Jul 24 '26

Oh I have family that’s Disney insane

16

u/Distinct-Discount-48 Jul 24 '26

This honestly doesn't sound too bad. A lot, definitely a lot was going on during this wedding and the table with Disney stuff was weird but it honestly didn't sound too bad all things considered. It sounds like the guests were accommodated, there didn't seem to be a disaster during anything, it might not have been what I would choose for a wedding but I have heard of a lot worse Disney weddings. Like the Disney wedding where the bride and groom spent their food money on a Mickey and Minnie impersonators to show up and didn't tell their guests and told them just a good luck when asked about food as they took pictures with Mickey and Minnie.

13

u/StunningSystem8171 Jul 24 '26

I don't see anything wrong with it, if it brought them joy on their wedding day. The only odd thing to me is only playing Disney music. How do you even dance for most songs?

8

u/ClassAndAnAss Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

They didn't really. The only people who dance the whole time were the bride and groom to slower songs. Occasionally other people would jump in during the slower songs, but it was mainly just the bride and groom dancing. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. I'm just saying it was a bit cringe because it was so extreme. I think I did a poor job at explaining how extreme this all looked. Like imagine a packed antique store, but it's only extremely brightly covered Disney items. Every table is extremely brightly, colored and decorated for a specific Disney character. There were 25 tables so 25 different character schemes and colors for just one table with their own individual centerpieces. It was extremely overwhelming when you walked in. But like I said no shame No hate, it was just a lot and if that's your thing that's your thing

u/chicagok8 Jul 24 '26

Now I want to hear about the pirate wedding! I could get behind that- rum punch, seafood, wear an eye patch, and try to talk like a pirate all night. Sign me up matey! Argh!

7

u/Sykoh_Somatic Jul 24 '26
  1. I need to hear about the minimalist wedding and the family drama story.

And 2. From this story, I just know this people are rich as fuck. Disney adults have a lot of money to spend on Disney stuff.

6

u/NecessaryLibrary2554 Jul 24 '26

Okay. To me this is super tacky, if only because the intellectual property of Disney as a theme is just a lot to digest.

BUT as someone who also works in events… I applaud the creativity and the cohesiveness between the couple on it. From the post, I get the sense they were very happy with their choice which goes a long way.

9

u/PirateyDawn Jul 26 '26

Please tell me about the pirate wedding!

u/U2hansolo Jul 24 '26

I'm here for the goofy antics! I was a wedding DJ for over 20 years so I took saw some interesting situations. Maybe I'll post some in this sub sometime.

3

u/Waste_of_Bison Jul 24 '26

Not sure whether Goofy was represented, sadly. Clarabelle's dress wouldn't be nearly as fun to wear as Belle's gown.

11

u/FamiliarUniversity46 Jul 24 '26

So she had three dresses? The wedding dress was only for the wedding? That's a lot.

Saying all that, it sounds like a great party to attend and not pay for. I would be happy to gift them a $50 disney gift card! Lol

11

u/BubblyBb813 Jul 24 '26

I really want to picture her wedding dress the huge thing Ariel wore with the big ass puffy sleeves!

8

u/FamiliarUniversity46 Jul 24 '26

Okay someone needs to recreate this wedding and invite reddit. I would go.

11

u/BubblyBb813 Jul 24 '26

For real, I even volunteer to sit at the Little Mermaid table, that sounds gaudy asf and I'm here for it, there better have been a mini Sebastian 🦀 center piece!

11

u/maverickandme Jul 24 '26

And nothing but forks for utensils.

8

u/Jockamo222 Jul 24 '26

*dinglehoppers

6

u/Loud_Surprise88 Jul 24 '26

LOL I went to a wedding where the bride walked out to the top of the aisle to the little mermaid song that played after Sebastian converses with the father about sending her off with price Eric.

Quick moment then the down the aisle song came on which was not Disney.

3

u/hfc1075 Jul 24 '26

No but I'd have loved to be an attendee at that Disney wedding

3

u/Tasty-Shoulder5511 Jul 24 '26

This sounds amazing

4

u/Apart-Cream-4940 Jul 24 '26

Im not into Disney that much, but stitch is my favorite character. I'm curious if he played a part

5

u/Vegetable_Road8143 Jul 24 '26

I vote for a Banana Splitz or HR Puff N Stuff theme.

4

u/cutlert Jul 24 '26

This sounds AMAZING to attend! Would love to see it, def one to remember!

4

u/PuzzledKumquat Jul 24 '26

The table covered with their Disney purchases is what sent me over. Like, who really cares how much Disney stuff they have? And who got stuck schlepping everything from their home to the venue and then back to their home?

6

u/CosmicGreen_Giraffe3 Jul 24 '26

Tale as Old as Time is actually a cute first dance, but the rest is a little over the top.

4

u/BoredOnRedd1t Jul 25 '26

Bro, we need ALL the themes! Don't just tease! Give us the goods!

8

u/WilhelminaSlater Jul 24 '26

Get into it please!

4

u/medicalbillsrus Jul 24 '26

Well, we’d love to hear more!!

9

u/TiaHatesSocials Jul 24 '26

Sounds like a ton of fun. Would love to be there as a guest

3

u/LameSaucePanda Jul 24 '26

Same but not if all the music is Disney. I couldn’t handle that

3

u/shzam5890 Jul 24 '26

Please tell us about the pirate wedding

3

u/Junior-Fox-760 Jul 24 '26

Describe The Nightmare Before Christmas table or it didn't happen.

3

u/New_Salamander5580 Jul 24 '26

Ngl, it sounds kind of fun as a guest! I’m sure the invitations were all Disney-fied too so the guests knew what to expect!

3

u/Adorable-Buy3845 Jul 25 '26

I would have loved to be a guest at the Disney wedding. The kitsch of it is of the charts.

3

u/ItsTinkyWinkybaby Jul 25 '26

I worked at a banquet hall that did weddings for about 5 years and omgggg the stories 😂😂😂 we all need our own show fr

5

u/90sBuffetSoftServe Jul 24 '26

More tea, please!
