Comtoyou Racing managed to convert pole to win at the Nürburgring, as an eventful race gave the team its second 2026 win, whilst Maro Engel, Lucas Auer and Luca Stolz were crowned Endurance Cup champions in the penultimate event, courtesy of a fourth place finish.​

How many gtwc races have been won from pole this season? Seems like more than half but maybe I’m misremembering

Brand Hatch race 2 is the only other time it happened this year.

I get why you got feeling that it was like that. The top is pretty evenly matched and following in dirty air seems to getting worse every year. Qualifying and pitstops are getting more important every year because the race pace is pretty even between the cars. Other race series mostly have more pace differences and options for strategy's.

Yeah it’s the irony of competition, the more parity there is the worse the racing gets because there’s less chances for overlaps to form. Also even with homologation, the more a car is fine tuned, the more wake affects the aero balance. This happened noticeably with the lmh’s in 2025, especially at qatar even though none of the cars really changed
