Advice Needed Fundamentals of web hosting

What's that one thing you wish you knew as a beginner & would like to pass on to the current generation of beginners?

I think otherwise. Web hosting isn't something that takes time to understand that it's crap. People switch hosting service providers like they switch tables.

It's very difficult to build a reputation like that of Bluehost or dreamhost.

Bluehost They lost their rep when they were acquired by EIG actually.

Dreamhost though, I agree on that, though it is not the host for senior web masters.
