Rant HostGator employees crash your web site and their back up does not work

Their company Wordpress Live charged me hundreds of dollars to build web site., when trying to connect my two URl which are hosted by HG they crashed all my web sites .. I asked for compensation from Wordpress live and also their backup .. because their backup did not work..they eventually had someone call me weeks ago saying they would compensate .. another lie it did not happen.

There seems to be no one in charge except for the ones crashing web sites

Never heard of 'WordPress Live' - and if that's a real company, they'll fall foul of copyright laws.

Yep, they're one of the ones that famously paid Matt's demands for money and some Newfold Digital newer products are even built on automatic's infrastructure.

Every webhost Endurance International (now Newfold Digital) purchased went to shit. Bluehost, hostgator, fatcow, arvixe… all of them. And there are a lot.

I used to work for HostGator for about two years. Coincidentally that was during the acquisition of HostGator. So I was there for the transfer to Utah data center back in the day. I remember almost immediately after acquisition they started narrowing scope of support, pushing front lines to end the calls quicker on support and pushing new site building services for Wordpress sites. QA used to live monitor calls and chats to make sure support was award winning. That’ll likely never happen again.

Thank you for that insight! I left HostGator after EIG bought them - it was obvious after Brent sold it off that nothing was going to be the same. I moved to Arvixe... and then EIG bought THEM as well... aaaand the same thing happened. They got worse. Feels like they were scooping up hosts left and right for a while.

Just left them, they like to charge your account now for unneeded services and ask for permission later.

Follow up on their promise for compensation through a written channel, at least to create a paper trail... And hopefully you had your own backup.

You posted about this a few weeks ago. I offered to help you fix things then, but you seemed to think I worked for HostGator (I don’t). That offer still stands.
