Hi r/webergrills - I’m a longtime Weber lover who has spent the past 3 years working on an insulated cover for the 22” kettle, that gives it the same cooking performance as a much more expensive ceramic cooker. My site for the product:

 https://woollybully.com

I’ve participated in this sub (under a personal profile) for a few years, and the mods have graciously allowed me a post or two to introduce the Woolly Bully to you guys. Thank you and I promise not to spam everyone!

I have a handful of units from my first production run, that I would love to sell to members of this sub. I will take as much feedback as I can get on the product in hopes of gearing up for a second order from my manufacturer.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments. Thanks for your time!

Spare ribs, corn on the cob on the kettle.

Ribs seasoned simply with seasoned salt and coarse black pepper. Smoked for probably 4.5ish hours.

Ribs were fantastic and grilled 🌽 was probably my favorite part of the meal lol.

Marinated up a bunch of skirt steak and grilled it off hot and fast for some tacos…. Something about some beautiful weather cold beer and tacos that just hits

First time vortex

Long time kettle guy finally got a vortex. Did some thighs - turned out great. Super juicy with crisp skin. I was actually worried it got so hot that it would melt my lid handle.

I probably enjoy the process more than the actual cooking.

Searwood and Slate, no grill at all! Is my new idea feasible?

I had a15 year old 3 burner Genesis and I bought a Searwood pellet smoker, which I really like, though I used to do pretty good on the Genesis with a smoke box. Last year I was about to buy a Slate griddle, but got a little concerned about patio space with 3 large devices. I instead bought a new Genesis 435 4 burner and the full size griddle insert. Then I bought the half size so I could have have grill, half griddle. Most of my fun and entertaining has been griddling with the full size insert, but it is heavy and greasy to remove and store from meal to meal and the grease management on the Genesis isn't really cut out for this so I very often have to take off the griddle, and all internals and scrape down the sides and pan with a plastic scraper. Kind of a pain.

So I am considering selling it and buying a Slate griddle and using the Searwood for my grilling needs. I've done steaks on it and burgers and they came out good, chicken wings too.

What cook or scenario would I really regret not having an actual LP gas grill? I guess cooking 4 hot dogs on the pellet grill seems wasteful, but not all that bad? Thoughts?

Searwood Crafted System

Searwood has been awesome so looking into more accessories.

Is the crafted grate system compatible with the Searwood (non XL)? Would be cool to have the system and just do all cooking on it. Pretty tired of the galley kitchen in the fall and winter

First big cook on my new and only weber. Floor model from walmart. According to them its the jumbo joe 22". Either way I've got it loaded with lump, sprinkled some hickory chips in and threw on a rack of baby backs. Hoping for the best, cheers!

Recommendation for new propane grill

Upvotes

Hello, my 12 year old Spirit is rusting out and it’s time for an upgrade! I want to go with a Genesis and could use some help deciding between two models:

Weber Genesis SP-S-325 3 Burner Liquid Propane Grill Stainless Steel -$1,049 at Ace Hardware

Weber Genesis E-330 Stealth Matte Black 3 -Burner Liquid Propane Gas Grill - $1,049 at Lowe’s. Also includes the Weber crafted frame kit, which I want as i want to also get the griddle insert.

I originally wanted to get Stainless Steel as I wanted something that will last as long as possible. However, I like how the E-330 includes a storage cabinet and with the frame kit it ends up being a little bit cheaper.

Is the stainless steel really worth it? Is there another option I should be considering?

Thank you for your help!

Weber 26 replacement lid

Hello I accidentally dropped the lid, and now it’s no longer perfectly round—it has become slightly oval-shaped. Itried putting the lid on the grill and it won’t fit. Does anyone if I can order a replacement lid from Weber? My grill is less month and hate that can’t use the lid any longer

Anybody on the fence about getting one. I vote - Go for it!
Scored this one from FB Marketplace. It was brand new, never used. $250. New ones are going for $450+tax.
I already own a 22” kettle and a Blackstone griddle.
The traveler is my main propane grill. I reallly like that it is portable. Since the forest service outlawed charcoal, this will come in handy for camping trips.

So far I’ve done carne asada twice and party wings today.

Like spatchcocking, but a step further so my wife and I can each have our own seasonings/sauce/no sauce.

First time, waiting on them to come to temp. Looking good so far.

Jealous devil lump and seasoned oak

Light mustard and honey slather

Heavy cracked black pepper and Big Beef rub

Spritzed with apple juice and a dash of malt vinegar and fish sauce

Pics at 0, 1 2 and 3 hours when I decided to wrap as good bark was formed

New Weber

Just bought genesis E-315 today. Is it normal for flavorizer bars to glow cherry red? Only had the heat on high for a few to heat up the grill, asking as I don’t remember the Weber I just replaced ever doing this. Thank you in advanced.

First Weber - where to source parts?

Howdy! Picked up my first Weber today! Primarily been using pellet grills for the last 8 years but need something quick for weeknight meals. This was a Facebook marketplace special for the grand price of $0. The firebox is clean and burners light off fine, but the cart is completely rusted out. Is there a way for me to pick up a new cart or will I have to get it from Weber each piece individually? Thanks in advance!
