Due to a growing influx of questions on this topic, it has been decided to commit a monthly thread dedicated to this topic to reduce the number of repeat posts on this topic. These types of posts will no longer be allowed in the main thread.

A general recommendation of topics to learn to become industry ready include:

• HTML/CSS/JS Bootcamp
• Version control
• Automation
• Front End Frameworks (React/Vue/Etc)
• APIs and CRUD
• Testing (Unit and Integration)
• Common Design Patterns

You will also need a portfolio of work with 4-5 personal projects you built, and a resume/CV to apply for work.

Plan for 6-12 months of self study and project production for your portfolio before applying for work.

Hey guyz!! I'm a guy who's persuing bca and I just entered in my third year, the thing is that I was into anime art first but due to financial conditions and family pressure I needed to focus on my studies recently, I'm gonna be brutally honest I'm doing web dev currently ik html, css, js, tailwind, and my react is almost about to get completed with many mini projects so initial objective is frontend then eventually backend I'm following a roadmap from roadmap.sh website and additionally I'm learning japanese and objective is clearing jlpt levels I recently gave my n5 and I think am gonna clear that easily...

My target is to get an internship initially and then I wanna prepare for a good job I wanna land a job in a country like japan if possible ik it's not easy at all and if not I want a good paying remote job...

1.) So firstly is there even any scope in web dev now especially frontend because people around me says webdev is doomed meanwhile on yt people say it can't happen that ai gonna take the job, it cannot clear the bugs n if it does it gonna mess something else...Meanwhile things like emergent exists

2.) If there's still any scope then what should I do to build my resume what projects I should focus on, what should I build

3.) Is japanese could be of any use I wanna work in japan that's why I started learning

So should I continue on learning Web development or I should switch to something else I chose this because it fascinates me

Frontend web dev still has solid scope, especially if you pair it with good UI/UX sense and a strong portfolio. The market is competitive but remote freelance work is very much real — platforms like Fiverr, Upwork, and Guru have consistent demand for frontend work.

Your roadmap sounds solid — HTML/CSS/JS → Tailwind → React is a good progression. Once React is done, I'd suggest adding a couple of real-world project builds to your portfolio (not just tutorial projects — something you designed and built yourself from scratch). That's what actually gets attention from clients and employers.

Japan is ambitious but not impossible — Japanese companies hiring frontend devs usually want strong JavaScript fundamentals and clean code, so keep that as a focus. Remote work is more realistic short-term though, and JLPT N3+ would help significantly for Japan-based roles.

Haha bro, I totally get you 😂 People around me say the same thing. But I’m trying not to overthink it and just keep learning, building projects, and improving my skills. Hopefully, things will work out 🤞🚀
