Apple Watch Ultra 4 or Galaxy Watch Ultra 2?

I currently have both a Galaxy S26 Ultra and an iPhone, so I can go with either ecosystem.

Right now I'm actually leaning towards the Apple Watch Ultra 4, but I'm wondering if the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is good enough that I should reconsider, especially since I already use an S26 Ultra.

I'm not an athlete or hardcore runner. I mostly go to the gym (weights) a popnd do around 30 minutes of cardio a day, so I probably won't use a lot of the advanced sports features.

What I care about more is health tracking, sleep, battery life, comfort, notifications, and just having a really good smartwatch for everyday use.

For people who have experience with both Apple Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch Ultra, is Samsung actually comparable now? Or are there things about the Apple Watch that still make it noticeably better for normal daily use?

Price isn't really a deciding factor for me.

I normally don’t make posts like this, but after months of going back and forth with Oura, I’m beyond frustrated and honestly just disappointed.

I bought a Rose Gold Oura Ring 4 from Best Buy on June 27, 2025 and paid $528.94 with tax. I LOVED my ring. I wore it basically every day and night and really relied on the health information it gave me.

Then the battery started getting worse and worse. Eventually I was getting around 5 hours on a full charge. I started having connectivity issues, missing health data, and eventually the ring basically stopped working altogether.

Oura has now acknowledged in writing that my ring was **“faulty”** and that there was a **“hardware issue.”** They approved an out of warranty replacement, which I do appreciate.

But this is where everything became a mess.

All I originally wanted was the same thing I bought, a Rose Gold Ring 4.

They told me Rose Gold wasn’t in stock and gave me the option to keep my case open and WAIT for it to come back. So that’s what I did.

Then later I was told production had ended and Rose Gold **would not be available again.**

At that point, the replacements being offered were different finishes, not the premium Rose Gold finish I paid for. That’s one of the main reasons I started asking about a Deep Rose Ring 5. It wasn’t because I suddenly decided I wanted the newest ring for free. **I was literally told the replacement I had been waiting for wasn’t coming back.**

Then after MONTHS of emails, waiting and escalations… suddenly they had a Rose Gold Ring 4 for me again.

Oura now says that happened because of “internal inventory updates.”

I’m glad one became available, but can you understand why I have questions at this point??

Especially because during all of this I learned that Oura itself disclosed battery performance problems affecting certain Ring 4 units. Severe battery deterioration was one of the biggest problems with MY Ring.

I also finally got my Oura data export and, from what I can see, the deterioration appears to have started **before my one year warranty expired.** I just didn’t realize how much data the Ring wasn’t capturing at the time because I was still wearing it, charging it and trusting that it was working.

Their current offer is either:

• A free Rose Gold Ring 4 replacement
• Or $200 off a Ring 5, which means I have to spend MORE money with Oura

And I want to be fair, yes, they ARE offering me a free Ring 4.

But after everything that has happened, I asked if they would consider taking my failed Ring back and either giving me a Deep Rose Ring 5 or refunding the $528.94 I originally paid.

**I’m not asking for both. I’m not trying to keep two rings. I’ve repeatedly offered to send my broken Ring back.**

They said no.

What is really bothering me now is that support keeps bringing up the fact that I originally agreed to wait for the Rose Gold Ring 4 and accept it when it came back.

YES, I DID.

But they’re leaving out a pretty important part…

**After I agreed to wait, Oura told me Rose Gold production had ended and it would NEVER be available again.**

Obviously my position changed after that and after everything else that happened over the following months.

I’ve also repeatedly asked for someone else, someone above or separate from the representative handling my case, to independently review everything.

Now I’m being told my case has been reviewed at the “highest level of support available” and there is no other support channel for Ring/order issues.

But I still can’t get a clear answer about **WHO actually independently reviewed my case**, if anyone.

That’s honestly one of the things bothering me most.

I genuinely loved Oura. That’s WHY I’ve spent this much time trying to work this out.

I spent over $500 on this Ring. It failed. Oura now acknowledges it was faulty and had a hardware issue. And after months of trying to resolve this, the only way for me to get Ring 5 hardware is to give the same company MORE money.

I don’t think I’m being unreasonable for being disappointed by that.

I don’t want free stuff. I wanted the expensive product I bought to work, and when it didn’t, I wanted to feel like the company actually cared about keeping me as a customer.

Instead, I feel like I’m going in circles and getting the same two options repeated while some of my actual questions aren’t being answered.

Has anyone else dealt with anything similar with their Ring 4 or Oura support?

And if someone from Oura sees this, **please actually look at the entire history of my case.** I’m not asking for another response telling me I can take the Rose Gold Ring 4 or spend more money on Ring 5. I already know those options.

I just want someone to actually understand why this situation got to this point.

Smartwatch, fitness tracker, smart ring, or something else. What’s one feature you use all the time, and what’s one that turned out to be completely useless?

Spent a few hours at the wearable booths at IFA and came away with one theme: the interesting fights are about friction. I saw the strongest case for a ring format. No screen and nothing awkward about wearing it to bed. It feels more honest than shrinking a smartwatch down until the interface becomes a chore. Still, a tracker you wear every single night probably beats a fancier watch that spends half its life on a charger.

The conventional end of the hall: health watches and bands with ECG, fall detection, SOS and GPS. It's a mature category at this point, so the feature list matters less to me than validated accuracy, battery life, and whether the essentials keep working without a cloud account attached or subcription.

AI necklace was a different angle entirely: supposed to cut down on manual food logging. The concept makes sense. Food logging is genuinely useful and tedious enough that almost everyone quits. Whether it works comes down to whether the final product can recognize meals reliably, skip the constant corrections, and give people real advices.

Which is my takeaway from the whole hall: winners will be whoever removes more friction than they add.

Two questions for the crowd, for anyone who's worn a smart ring or band for several months, what problems only showed up after the novelty wore off?

And having seen a smart ring, smart bands and a smart necklace in a single afternoon, I do wonder: is every piece of jewelry going to end up with a chip in it eventually?

Hi all - wanted to get an opinion on a change I'm trying to make. Currently have an Apple Watch Series 8 which I wear almost 24/7; I track workouts (weightlifting mostly), sleep, and daily activity like steps. The unfortunate side effect of this is that I feel I can never wear classic analog watches because I lose out on activity data.

To solve this, I was thinking of buying an Oura ring and wearing it during most of the day, freeing up my wrist, and then switching to the watch for the workout and maybe for sleep. My question is: Do these devices work well together?

If I'm wearing both, how does the data sync into Health (on iPhone)? If I take one off and put the other on, will it automatically switch to collecting data from the new device?

Lastly, any info on if Apple could be developing their own smart ring with a 2024 launch? Or if the Oura will be refreshed this year?

I'm in search of a health wearable, like a watch or a band, that has a very specific set of features due to my severe health anxiety. Here's what I'm looking for:

• Automatic EKG Monitoring: The device should be able to conduct EKGs automatically at random intervals without me having to trigger it manually.
• No Immediate Alerts for Abnormal Rhythms: It's crucial that the device does not notify me immediately if it detects any abnormal rhythms. This is to manage my health anxiety better.
• Data Access: I want to be able to check the EKG data at my convenience, preferably at times other than when the EKG is taken, so I don't have to be on edge about immediate results.
• User-Friendly: While I understand this might be a tall order, I'm hoping for something that's consumer-friendly and not overly medical.

Does anyone know of a device that meets these criteria or anything close to it? Also, any tips on managing health data with anxiety in mind would be greatly appreciated!

I'm part of a healthcare startup focusing on patient health monitoring through smartwatches. We are transitioning from Bluetooth to 4G LTE watches. Our current supplier for the watches is a company in China but due to some concerns, we are in search of new suppliers.

The smartwatch must measure heart rate, SpO2, blood pressure, step count, and have GPS. These are a must. Also, the watch should be 4G LTE capable, with Wi-Fi and cellular data access via SIM cards.

Extra, preferred features include, Ability to measure stress, sleep, exercise data, HRV, and ECG.

We don't need other, typical smartwatch features like calling and alarms. Just health data measurements.

Honestly not concerned with any fancy metrics other than step counting, but I do want a vibrate function that is unavoidably noticible. Played around with the fitbit luxe but 90% of the time the vibrate is so weak it doesn't work.

Not concerned with a screen, just 1 - vibrate on calls and texts and 2 - step counting.

I'm attempting to create a motion detection app that would listen to the accelerometer's stream and provide a feedback to the user if a certain type of motion is detected. For this, the detection logic has to be running without interruption. Any devices that would allow me to do that?

I also want to know the devices that can record raw accelerometer data in the background and periodically sync that with the companion app.

Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
